Thanks! The weathering series by Mike Confalone sold at the MRH store is outstanding and highly recommended. I learned so much by watching his techniques.
Nice job on those boxcars. Locomotive #3017 looks great, it will be a nice addition to your fleet. Your new benchwork construction method is awesome, thanks for showing your design and your wiring.-Tom
Very well detailed and sceniced layout. Nice job on the Pan Am freight cars as well. Those look exactly like the protoype. Including the car number surrounded by graffiti. Absolutely incredible. Keep up the amazing work
Tim, always look forward to your updates. That benchwork is superb and lends me ideas. Excellent looking boxcars you added and wonderful Railfanning. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Rob
I could watch your layout all day long. As always, everything looks awesome! That sucks you will have to transport that nice layout. Hopefully nothing gets damaged.
Thanks Man! The sections I’m working on now will be the only part of the layout that gets preserved. The other parts will be salvaged and recycled. I probably won’t have this peninsula section too sceniked and detailed so I think it will be ok for the move. Can’t wait to build a bigger and better version of the SC!
Tim, the layout is looking great. Thanks for showing your design ideas and such, the one on the legs being inset so you do not hit them is perfect. I will steal that idea.... LOL. The new loco’s look great, I like the SD40-2’s for some reason. Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Ken
Thanks Ken! Glad I could help. SD40-2s are some of my favorites. I prefer the real ones as an Engineer and so they are definitely a big part of the SC.
Looking awesome Tim your layout is very well done I got first scale trains unit dash 9 in the Union Pacific trying get them and Bnsf ones I also new load ho scale so it be video soon so you guys check it out
Another Great video Tim. That is a good idea about your layout legs. Love that weathering on your cars, Could you please tell us how you did your Boxcar roofs?
Thanks! Roofs were weathered with artist oils and powders. I am going to try to do a video on a cement hopper soon. After that I’ll try to do one on a boxcar. Tim
Everything on the layout is looking great Tim!! You being a real engineer with NS do they let you railfan on the property in your off time?? Keep up the outstanding work!!!
Hi Scott, thanks for watching! I haven’t been a railfan since before I worked on the RR. I see enough of the prototype while I am at work. Haha. I say my NS job is just research for the SC. :)
Looking good I'd love to have your skill set on my layout who does your sound install looking for someone to do so for me just bought eight loco that need either sound or dcc thanks Bob
Years of practice and not being afraid to mess up and start over. Haha! Thanks for the compliment Bob. I’ve used BradleyDCC and also Scale Sound Systems and even tackled some basic installs myself. Not really that fun to me compared to weathering and scenery work so I prefer to contract it out. To me the expense is worth the time that it gives me to work on other parts of the layout.
I’ve used a number of techniques. The downtown area has the Walthers street system and the East Griffin area is done with a combination of the Woodland Scenics Smooth It and Arizona Rock and Minerals Asphalt. I paint all my streets with Automotive Primer and then weather them. If you have a chance, go back and watch some of my earlier videos and you can see how I did it. Thanks! Tim
Thanks! I’m not a fan either. But I Model 2015 so to do it justice it will have to be present. If I ever change eras I would probably model 1994 when it wasn’t so prevalent.
I have been a home builder for 30 years. I have been building model railroads for 17 years. BOY did you OVER spend on that bench work. #1 grade 1x6 would have worked the same way at one-third the cost.
The layout is looking better and better every month. Great modeling.
Thanks Robert!
Great post as always. Thanks much for sharing. Fantastic weathering, wish I was as good.

Thanks Tom! Hope to have the 3017 and the 3018 ready by the next update. Soon I’ll start on the 3010 and the 3012 which will be completely different.
THANK YOU...for sharing. Another fantastic update. Enjoyed very much.
Thanks!
Great work buddy! That new engine looks stellar!- Joey
Thanks Joey!

Thanks Paul!
I love your layout. I enjoy your video's every month. And the weathering is just awesome
Thanks Michael!
Layout looks great. Those boxcars are excellently done and the locomotive is real nice. Awesome idea about the benchwork. Stay well. -Wil 👍
Thanks Will!
Amazing layout and weathering. Definitely a treat to watch
Thanks!
Module look great, nice way to make sure they can be moved easily. As always a beautiful layout. Thanks for sharing. Dave

Your rolling stock always look excellent.
OTS RxR thanks!
everything is top notch on this layout. presentation rocks as well. hats off.
Appreciate it Sir!
Beautiful work, Tim! I’ve shared it on the store’s Facebook page!
Thanks Doug!
Good module ideas that allow for future hights and moves. Really like those magnetic air hoses.
Thanks Mike! The air hoses are nice and they work better with the cars weighted down.
Another kewl. Video....
Thanks Tom!
That layout is awesome!
Thanks! Hope you have found the new SC! It is shaping up to be a lot better than the original.
I like your trains/Layout. I subscribe to your channel.
Thanks!
Oh I love those PanAm cars. Joeoz3751
Have you seen the new Seaboard Central cars?
As always, everything looks great. Those Pan Am cars really look good.
Thanks Jim!
great work
Thanks!
Good show Tim
Thanks Tom!
Nice bench work. I also did the same on my small layout where the legs are L shaped and drilled for 48" but can be moved or taken apart easily.
Thanks! Yes I agree it is a better design than the 2”x2” legs I used on the rest of the layout.
Awesome layout but great advice on layout building. That's my project for the month
Thanks! Stay tuned for more progress!

You were missed! High green!
Copy! Thanks for watching!
Oh please do a video on the progress of the modules.
Yes sir, that’s the plan. Be sure to stay tuned and subscribe if you haven’t done so already. I am planning on documenting the entire process.

Tim, I can't watch Ice Road Truckers
because I spend so much time in

shows are a drag!!!😀😀😀
Nice update. :)

Great video Tim, I love the scene at 0:33! What brand are those DJLX gondolas with the green and white logo? Keep up the great work!!
Thanks Mike! They are Atlas cars. Thanks for watching and if you haven’t done so be sure to subscribe to see more videos. Tim
Thanks for replying Tim, I can't wait to see more progress on the peninsula!
Have a question what are you using for your outstanding looking roads.
Thanks! Tim
Can you do a how to video on how you intall your magnetic brake hoses?
Yep. That can be arranged.
I sub u nice job
Thanks!!
😊
😃
Nice, not a fan of graffiti on cars but I guess that if you do modern, graffiti is in.
Thanks! I’m not a fan either. But I Model 2015 so to do it justice it will have to be present. If I ever change eras I would probably model 1994 when it wasn’t so prevalent.

Probably so. But I have enjoyed working with it. The rest of the layout is built with 1x4s and 2x2s. Thanks for watching.
can i buy that procor hopper 1:37
