@@zyriuz2 and they both have a "calm" intro, although dyers eve doesn't directly have one, the outro to to live is to die cuts so abruptly, having dyers eve play instantly, that could be considered a intro

I think these edits you do really showcase how interesting Metallica really is. No Metallica album sounds like another one. Each has its own rhythm, structure, tone, feel, and identity. It's one of the things that's kept them relevant for the last 40 years.

Been saying this for years. How many bands sound different on each album and yet you know who it is instantly? Most bands you can interchange songs on each album and they'd sound the same and fit right in. That gets boring. Only a few of the greats can make each album its own. Like you said, it's what has made Metallica so listenable over 40 years. Never boring.

Like how even though death magnetic tried to emulate master and justice, it still had it's own modern sound with the composition but the riffs and stuff were definitely similar to the era

I don't know if this is true but I think it's really hard for him to do songs that are more than 2 albums apart because the vocals are so different. That's why most of these aren't existing already. I don't even know how you could possibly get current james to sound like justice james. That said, if he found someone who could instead cover the vocals then he would have free reign on the album combinations.
Of Wolf and Man on Master, Judas Kiss on Justice.
Harvester of Sorrow would be heavy as hell on The Black Album.
All Nightmare Long on Justice sounds awesome considering Justice is brutal in terms of tone, and All Nightmare Long’s my favorite post St. Anger song.

i can't even express the nostalgia here. ride the lightning was the first metallica album i ever heard. i couldn't help but fall in love, i had never heard anything quite like it before. no matter how many times i listen to that album, or anything else new by metallica, it never quite has the same effect that listening to that album for the first time had on me. THIS does!
Original Dyers Eve intro + Main riff in E minor chords + Bb chord added + a mix of Trapped under ice-Fight fire with fire vibe..... it is fucking mind-blowing 🤘🏻🤘🏻
It sucks it took me a year to write a comment, but this prolly is your best work overall. From the tone, to the vocals, everything feels right, like this song belonged on this album. I've sent this to various Met-heads I've known growing up and every single one of them were blown away by this. Particularly the "I'm in hell without you" section, it was just icing on an already masterful rework. Cheers!

The fact that Ride the Lightning doesn't have a speedy/brutal thrash song as an album closer, just makes this even better. You can just add it to the end of the tracklist and it fits perfectly.

The demo intro of Dyer's Eve from the riff tapes, the tone being spot on (even Lars' drums, and HOLY FUCK. James sounds direct off of RTL!) Kirk's solo, the chorus, the bridge between the final chorus and the outro...

These what-ifs only come from a place of love and an intimate understanding of the original tracks and the original albums, and it's goddamned beautiful.

That really is a song that has such massive potential. I think the original version has some great ideas, but the verse guitar riff plods along a bit, and it desperately needed a guitar solo to further the story. It sounds unfinished, like a demo. There too, was plenty of room for some orchestration, keyboard work to add so much more depth to it. It could have been a monolithic epic like Outlaw Torn, with some broody Unforgiven class to it, had there been more instrumentation. Id love it personally to have been on S&M 2! 🤘👍

The way you altered the vocal melody in the pre solo part was insaaaane. It was like a never heard before cut section from Trapped Under Ice with Dyers Eve lyrics lmao.
