“First you find the shade, then you find the painting” is terrific advice. Survival!! Plus, it’s hard for me to concentrate if I’m terribly annoyed by the great outdoors.
I sure wish that I could have participated in the Helper Plein Air this year. I had a previously scheduled family event that took me away. But, there is always next year. Helper hosted the first plein air events Utah ever had, that I can remember, from back in the very early two thousands.
In answer to your comment at 11:29...I would say that in light of what I've seen in recent years, Salt Lake Community College has the strongest academic drawing program of the the 3 you just mentioned.

We wear white long into Fall here in California. If it gets cold, we might wear darker heavier linen. Perhaps a parka in December, January.
