I was just scrolling thru Netflix and saw Lost then did an internet search "Is lost worth watching" and this video appeared. I've heard about Lost for so long but never watched it. Thanks for this video. I'll give it a go! I can't believe the first season was so long ago! Time flies.
I only just watched it this year. Loved it from start to finish. I even braced myself for that infamously disappointing ending but was delightfully surprised to find I wasn't in that camp.
Kudos for making a video that's so succinct and a tight minus 6 minutes, especially given what a large focus of your discussion is. I love giving new film/tv analysis channels a watch, but these days so many videos are 45 mins to over an hour and it's an immediate pass for me haha. Great job, keep up the good work.
I came at Lost from the other direction. Back in the day, I watched maybe partway through season 3. I thought it was fine, but for whatever reason it didn't keep my attention and I moved on to something else. Then 3 or 4 years back, my aunt wanted to watch it and asked me if I'd watch it with her, and I agreed, and I ended up enjoying it immensely. I thought it was a very solid show. The ending made sense. And they even managed to include a time travel arc that fit and didn't mess anything up. (The only other pieces of time travel media that I've personally experienced that I think did such a good job were Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Harry Potter. I generally enjoy time travel plots regardless, but let's be real - they're often full of holes and sometimes you just gotta sit back and enjoy the ride and not take them too seriously.) As for the complaints - I think most of them are factually wrong, but tbh I can understand some of them given the nature of media back then. I had the privilege of going from episode to episode, and season to season, immediately. Back then, people had to wait at least 1 week between episodes, and months between seasons. That's time to forget, and the average TV viewer isn't a geek like me, and isn't going to invest that much of their mental energy to keeping all those details in their head longterm like that. Once I realized that, anytime I'd think "Did you forget X?" when reading someone's complaint, I'd remind myself that, for the reasons above, they probably did. (Of course, some complaints were that they understood what happened, but just didn't like it. Which, fair enough. Not everything is going to please everyone. I'm talking here about the complaints containing factual inaccuracies about what happened on the show. For example, the number of people who just didn't get what was going on with "sideways" was a lot.) But yeah, I think it's a very solid show that still holds up. Not perfect, as I share a lot of your criticisms, but definitely solid. I've heard the rumors of a remake circulating, and unless they change large parts of the mystery I just don't see it doing as well because too many people were alive back then and would know roughly where it was going, which I think would ruin the experience. Even with my prior watching through some of season 3, I at least went into the last few seasons largely blind. Also, fun video. Thanks for bringing this show back to my mind. It's definitely good memories for me.
@@DC-FGC Thank you for watching! I do get what you mean about the general amnesia regarding what happened on the show - the amount of times I heard people decry that the polar bears were never explained told me that they weren’t paying attention (that or they didn’t make it to season 3). A remake could be interesting - given that it’s such a recognisable property, it feels like an inevitability but I did love that original cast so it’d be hard to imagine anyone replacing them.
I think the only season that had filler episodes is season 3, it could be better with fewer episodes. And the only episode I think is skippable is the one about Nikki and Pablo.
@@tolstukha Season 3 was definitely the worst of the bunch - I think there were a few bits in season 2 that could have been confined into one episode, but I’ll admit that this was a problem of watching it at a much faster pace on streaming, it did start to blend together a bit!
Never watched it which is odd as I love these types of series , just finished it tonight after it taking a couple of weeks to watch … unfortunately I hated it , literally the least enjoyable series I’ve ever watched .
@@ZrednaZ might be worth a rewatch then - I think the passing of time has helped a bit in appreciating what LOST is and what it isn’t. I will admit though, the mystery at the start of the show, particularly seasons 1&2 is fantastic.
Same as you and I am rewatching the whole show now again. First 2 seasons were good but season 3 was somewhat boring but finally season 4 gets excited again since it gives some hints and answers for the show plot.

Just finished watching it with my wife, brilliant show.
@@lostcause78 I can’t lie - I’ve been thinking about doing another (another) rewatch 😂
Started two days ago, haven’t watched since the first run, it’s even better with a more mature world & spiritual view.
@@daviddrakeford9567 agreed! Feel like I can understand the characters a lot better now as an adult (I was still in my teens when the show ended!)
I remember watching it on TV back when I was a kid, currently watching now as I was curious and missed out on it.

Why ( please keep spoilers minimum I want to watch it but 7 seasons is a big commitment so I’m doing some research on the show)
After the writers' strike of the time, I never got around to finishing Lost and I still, to this day, wonder if I should 🤔 Maybe I will 🙃
@@rubiademoraes Do it! So many shows have adapted aspects from LOST so it’s worth seeing, just to recognise the impact that it had alone.
I haven’t watched it since whenever the final season aired. I just recall the first 3 seasons being quite good and the last 3 being terrible.
