What you currently have on that SG is a Nashville style bridge which is wider giving more adjustment for intonation. What you bought was an ABR bridge, both are available as Gibson original parts. I would have just gotten the correct bridge and not modified the original equipment. What you did worked fine but ruined the original part.
I'm a loyal Epiphone man especially after JC Curliegh Restored Epiphone back to high end in 2019/2020 I have zero interest in any other brands especially Gibson do like your videos
They make conversion posts you can use with a standard ABR1 bridge. But personally, in this case, I would have just drilled out the holes on the bridge itself to fit the original Nashville posts rather than sanding the posts down.
The knobs you took off are original for 1981 btw.
I thought I did the research but have you anything that I can refer to. It will be back with me.
Great job looks 100% better I would of thought the owner would of put new strings on it ,thanks again 👍
Love your name... yeah the sting were rank... but I spoke to him about it and the problem is his metabolism.
Fantastic job, it’s the best I ever heard his guitar sounding and wow it does look good now. He’ll be sounding like Brian May 2moro night on stage

Yes, you are right but I had a deadline for that evening.
Well you found a way. You could have just changed it for the correct bridge. Another good video, keep them coming. Thanks.
I had a deadline for that evening... but thanks...
@LennonLuthierFinagler ah yes, you did say, sorry, my mistake. Good job!

I must admit I am with you... I much prefer Epiphone guitars and I have had some real beauties on my bench...
