Ramcharitmanas ( it has knowledge of all vedas, agamas, shastras, etc., Many people say it is not authentic should note that there was several version of ramayan in different kalpha like adhyatama ramayan, valmiki ramayan, etc. and also tulsidas ji got bhagwan ram darshan, one most read this shastras, also dharmsamrat karpatri ji maharaj has said that those who cant read vedas and it is very huge for everyone to understand must read Ramcharitmanas)
2. Gyaneshwari Gita Bhasya ( It is commentary by sant gyaneshwari on Bhagavad Gita, it is one of the best for beginners in a poetic style, everyone must read this )
3. Ekanth Bhagwat ( It is based on 11th chapter of bhagwatam )

Don't start reading "Bhagavad Gita As it Is" because you will not be able to develop your own interpretation and perspective about Gita

For pure devotion to Lord Sri Krishna chandra bhagavan, "as it is", is most directed book without taking reader anytime away from the concept of being servant of SRI KRISHNA as he says in Bhagavad Gita "sarva dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja", but still if we want to explore all the vedic perspectives including the impersonalism then, we can definitely explore all.
By the way, one of the leading founding member of Gita Press "SRI HANUMAN PRASAD Poddhar ji", himself was a pure devotee of Sri krishna and he himself has given money to publish first canto of SRIMAD BHAGAVATAM of Srila Prabhupada in 1960's.

NEVER read Bhagavad-Gita of ISKCON! It's a distorted commentary.
But MUST read the commentaries by Swami Ramsukhdas ji OR Swami Chinmayananda OR Acharya Prashant.

6) thoughts of late sarsanghchalak guru Golwarkar on communists, Christians and muslims of India. This is most important, you will get the shatrubodha by reading it.

Bhaiyon, pehle "The Secret of the Veda" (by Sri Aurobindo) padh ke apne basics clear karo, phir aana Bhagwadgeeta par. Bhagavadgeeta is not a beginner-level text, you need to be well-versed in the basics of Sanatan Dharm first. These basics are in The Secret of the Veda - not an easy read (as the language used is from >100 years) and may take a few times to fully grasp the ideas, but I guarantee you, the insights you will get on completing this book are well worth the effort.

I would strongly suggest the Kannada book ಭಗವದ್ಗೀತಾ ಜೀವನಧರ್ಮಯೋಗ, Bhagavad Gita Jeevanadharma Yoga, by the great Kannada author Dr. DV Gundappa. Have found many explanations here not found in any other book. This book is also translated to English.
