How to wear Japanese "YUKATA"

"YUKATA"-- it's a very popular style as a traditional summer dress in Japan and loved by many people regardless of age.
≪How to wear "YUKATA"≫
1. Pull the collar ends directly out in front of you. With your right hand pull the collar ends and take the back mid seam with your left hand. Raise the YUKATA off the floor.
2. Open the left panel to the front and hold it here, wrap the right panel around your body. The hem of the right panel should be shorter than the left panel about 2 3/4 inches (7cm).
3. Wrap the left panel over the right panel.
4. When the both panels are correctly positioned, tie a narrow sash slightly under the waistline.
5. Place your left hand through the left armhole and smooth out the "YUKATA" from back to front, making any necessary tacks. Do the same in front with the right panel.
6. Bring the left hand right collar ends together. The back mid seam of the YUKATA should be directly in line with the middle of your back. Place your left hand through the left armhole and smooth out the both collars.
7. Take a fist size space on the neck.
8. Tie a narrow sash slightly under the bust line. Smooth out the "YUKATA" from back to front.
9. Put on the decorative belt along the waistline.
10. Wrap a rectangle part of the decorative belt around your waist.
11. Tie up the strap around the belt neatly. Slip the strap ends into the belt.
12. Put the butterfly shaped part of the belt on the back side.
13. Tie up the strap attached with the belt around it. Slip the strap ends into the front part of the belt.
14. Finally wear wooden sandals. You will be a perfect "Japanese lady" ("YAMATO- NADESHIKO") !!!
