The joy of driving on bitumen roads is unparalleled! 😍 Ntin Gadkari said that they are trying to do a hybrid version where the absolute top layer can be made of bitumen or have the smoothness of bitumen!
I think some European roads and German Autobahns are designed like that. Because the road quality is great! Also, average car quality is better... so maybe that helps as well! 🤣😅 Hopefully, India's, expressway building quality also makes it way to more local roads! 😂

Recently I traveled from Bharuch to Ahmedabad in Gujarat. I used Delhi Mumbai Expway (NE 4) from Bharuch to Vadodara and then switched to the old Vadodara Ahmedabad Expway (NE 1) from Vadodara.
DM Expway was made of PQC whereas VA Expway was made of Bitumen.
OMG, the difference in ride quality was HUGE! I felt PQC was too bumpy and not stable at all, whereas Bitumen was absolutely smooth af!
I was very excited to use the newly inaugurated section of DM Expway, but it was a disappointment for me, maybe I would prefer to use the good old Bitumen National Highway to travel.
I guess India should use Bitumen all over the country but with a combination of quick response road repair team.

PQC roads are indeed rough when they're new, but over a period of time they become smooth. If you've used the Mumbai-Pune expressway, you'd notice the ride quality is quite nice.

To be honest, I love watching infrastructure projects, just not Indian ones. I don't follow a single channel that shows Indian infra projects. Not because i don't like my country or the great progress we're making but because the presentation of videos is too poor in quality. Your channel on the other had is extremely high in quality of content, explanation, presentation and data is factual too. I like you concept of checking progress of projects.
By far, you have the best Indian infra channel on TH-cam!

I'm sure you've already seen them, but if not, I could not recommend RS Live more. While his voice gets a little on edge at times his coverage is remarkable. Detox Traveller is also good, except for the way he says "viaduct". But Droneman has the best quality of footage.

Bitumen Road is good for travelling because it does not contain contraction joints which makes lot of noice while driving.

Hello one of the questions that I'm wondering about is why is there bituminous road on bridges and then PQC on normal expressways.
I've seen this both on samruddhi and mumbai Pune expressway and in this video you can see it clearly at 4:17 where, the expresways themselves on road level are PQC but as we go on bridges there is bitumen road and then pqc again once the bridge ends.
Is it because bitumen is soft so it will aid in expansion and contraction of bridge as metal inside expands with heat or is there any other reason?

My understanding is that a well-built asphalt road can be as durable as a concrete one. Jangli Maharaj Road in Pune is an excellent example.
