Really attractive imaging and coloring style, Tina. Appreciated your commentary as you worked on each piece since this is the first time I've seen your work. Haven't worked on any of my gel prints in a long long time so this was inspirational!
To an Australian, it looks like an outback landscape with dry waterholes and cattle tracks leading to a central watering point. Lovely work, inspiring, and I love the colours you choose.
oh thank you Anita (by the way I had an Australian friend called Anita, but she passed 😢). so you think they‘re not eggs but cattle? 😂 Wish I could visit your country one day, I guess the colors would inspire me a lot. Which town do you live in? Thank you so much for this! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️🇦🇺
@@tinasart5720 I live a long way from the outback, in Melbourne, Victoria! But we are all familiar with images of outback landscapes. The "eggs" are not cattle but the waterholes, on which native animals and cattle depend in the desert. Distinct tracks are formed towards the waterholes by animals, visible from the air, which is what the cracks in the glass look like. Many waterholes are usually dry but fill with grasses and shrubs which stand out from the desert, central to life - many small birds, reptiles, insects depend on them. I used to be married to an ecologist who took our family out to the deserts often, so much inspiration for artists out there. Yes, the colours are spectacular and change so much with the light. There are several Aboriginal artist groups out there who are world famous for their works. So interesting how we see things differently due to where we grow up and live. I last travelled overseas in the 80s before I married, and I miss travelling so much! Too expensive and complicated now.
@@anitapeura3517 wow now I want to go to Australia even more! I used to travel a lot too, mostly Asia but also middle and North America…I have dogs now, so that’s not possible anymore…if I gave them to someone, wouldn’t work for me as I would want to spend my holidays with them…might make it to Italy this year…the Aboriginal art sound interesting, any links to them? Cheers from Berlin! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀🎨 🇦🇺
you can make the glass effect with tissue paper. get a large piece and twist it in the middle, then fan out the 2 ends and place down flat on inked up gel plate
I was glad to see someone mention you could use the other side - i learned the hard way not to use anything that could scratch. I bought a plexiglass cutting board (like for vegetables) to keep mine on, makes it easy to lift and see through.
yes, you know, you can use knead or play dough to take shapes from objects that are too sharp or not flat enough, and then print the dough impression. I have made some videos about that too…thank you Katherine! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️💝
You deserve wayyy more appreciation since youre sacrificing yourself for art, and whats even funnier is your nail polish randomly dissappearing in the middle of the video🤣🤣 love the piece though it looks amazing as always❤❤
liebe Judith, danke dir!
Gorgeous results, I love the sense that there is some there there, if only I could make out what it is :) Always the elusive quality I want in my own abstract work!
Flip the gelli plate over and use the backside that doesn't have gouges in it! These are great! I love outlining details in my gelli prints! It takes time, but the results are fabulous! Beautiful works of art!
aww thank you so much for your nice words Becky! I am so glad I can inspire you, you seem to be quite experienced with this. Cheers from Berlin! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️💝
it looks like a cadestral map to me. all roads lead to rome! or maybe berlin in this case :) i agree, fantastic! the second one looks like an insect to me. very cool! oh, have fun with your new dog!
oh wow, an insect, have to think that over 🤔… Yes the 🐶, I am so so excited about that! Funny you mention Rome, I always travel to the magic city whenever I can… Thank you Jayne! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️💝
Happy New Year, Tina! Thank you so much for sharing your art and the time and effort you put into these videos. They've really helped me grow as an artist. I wish you all the best in this new year!
Whilst in admiration of the recycling and experientation, and love the resulting prints, for anyone scared of trying this, you can achieve similar and safer results with food wrap and food packaging.
Dein Ansatz für dieses Projekt ist so anders und erfrischend - es hat eine ganz eigene Note, die man sonst nicht oft sieht. Es ist wirklich inspirierend, wie du Dinge aus einer neuen Perspektive zeigst. 🌷
Funnily enough I was thinking as I was watching that the broken glass is going to cut the plate! Don't throw the gelli plate away though try using the other side the cuts may not print or you could cut the plate down to make smaller ones and get rid of the damaged area. Love the resulting prints though.
yes of course I will use the other side, I was joking, more or less. But I am really ruthless with my material sometimes… It’s ok for me to work with, but the plates are partly stained and that is not good for the filming…thank you! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️🎨
I have seen someone use cling film, or the more sturdy version, a soft plastic sheet, crumpled in the middle. I just don’t remember who that was. That gives me the idea to try that alternative and make a video about it, what do you think? Thank you! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️💝
Yes, food wrap good for this and transparency of it helps. You also get interesting results from food wrapping of many kinds, but opacity means less control = more surprises. 😊
…anybody who is wondering about the tagged image from my shop, the tag is wrong as I sell the original there, not the laser print. Somehow the info in my Shopify shop lands wrongly in the TH-cam tag, I must be doing something wrong here…🙁🤷🏻♀
I use the Caran d‘Ache only for white highlights, as the white one is much better pigmented than any other. Otherwise, I only use Polychromos. 🙏🏽 Thank you! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️💝
I don't know if I'm the only person seeing this, but more so than a landscape, I see a high fashion long cape billowing with a fanned, high collar going to the top of the print, and where the collar meets the shoulders, to the right center, is a small elegant sort of female alien/skeleton face half looking back over her shoulder. (Second V of the collar from the right, just where it meets the neck of the cape). Or is it just me?
Hi Bonnie! Now you‘ve described it, I see it too, and now I can’t unsee it! I hope you‘re also working out things in your art, you have that special gift! thank you…🙏🏽👽
@tinasart5720 Thank you! I just finished a painting, experimenting with layering and abstract background. I think it's my new favorite. I've never tried Gelli plates, but after seeing your beautiful work, I might have to give it a try.

What a genius and creative idea! Can you think of another option to the broken glass and still get that broken glass effect?
I have seen someone use cling film, or the more sturdy version, a soft plastic sheet, crumpled in the middle. I just don’t remember who that was. That gives me the idea to try that alternative and make a video about it, what do you think? Thank you! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️💝
@ definitely try it. Also perhaps collograph. Instead of the masking film, make a cardstock cutout leaving spaces for the lines.
Yes, food wrap good for this and transparency of it helps. You also get interesting results from food wrapping of many kinds, but opacity means less control = more surprises. 😊
Incroyable !!

AK masking sheets A4 size (8" x 12") by ak interactive sl, they are in Spain baut you can get them on Amazon. Thank you!! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️🎨
Put the cuts side closest to the plastic film and use the other side.
yes I knew that, I was sort of joking. I never throw anything away…thank you! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️🎨
Don't throw the damaged gel plate away. Fill the holes/crevices with silicone gel. Apply and level with a small palette knife.
Ah that‘s a brilliant idea! I wasn’t really gonna throw it away…thank you! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️🎨
What type of pencils are you using on the gel plate? Are they hard enough to leave indentations in the plate? TY very much for sharing!
…you are very welcome! But what do you mean, I don’t use pencils directly on the plate…? Only on the print later. 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️💝
