    I've always had horrible posture resulting in headaches. Hunching over my guitar like a goblin has only added to the problem. I want to thank you for your focus on ergonomics and posture as it relates to guitarists. You've helped me be mindful of these issues so I can play without having down a few ibuprofen every day. Thanks, Dr. Andre!

    Dead ass had this one on my list for at least 6 months before this video, 100% because of flip up arms. The folding storage feature is also super useful for storage in smaller space.

    I recently purchased a Hinomi Chair for the same reasons. I have had many chairs seeking comfort for guitar playing and desk work. I have gone down the road of purchasing the Herman Miller and Hag Capisco and other "High End" chairs only to eventually seek out something more accommodating. Congrats on finding something that works for you.

    The thing with office chairs is there will never be a one size fits all or definitive best for everyone. This looks like a solid choice for folks. For me, mesh chairs are just a hard no. My brother has an Embody and doesn't use it for guitar either, he just uses a piano bench. I tried the Aeron and hated it. I also tried the Fern from Haworth and it didn't work at all for instrument playing, but as an office chair it was magnificent. I did end up sending it back for reasons that aren't the fault of the chair. It just wasn't designed for someone with my frame in mind. I ended up with a Steelcase Leap and it has been a game changer for about 3 years now. I'll keep an open mind but for my dimensions I don't think I'm gonna be finding a better chair any time soon.

    I recently got a flip up arm office chair and it's made a big difference, I've had a bunch of high end office chairs of the years, and a bunch of cheap ones, some with arms some without and what I realised was that it's essential for me to have one with flip up arms, because working from one without arms is far more fatiguing than one with. For anyone in the UK, I went with the realm of thrones captain chair. Something else I've learned over the years, is that if you have to 'fix' with a pillow for lumber or height, it's better to just replace it with one that's a better fit.

      I’ve had mine for about a month now, and no real issues. My gf’s Herman Miller feels a tad more solid, but this one still feels alright, and is considerably cheaper. Only thing that surprised me was its weight. The box is quite huge and it weighed like 65lbs.

    i badly need a new chair and I was about to order one of these a few weeks ago but I got scared off by a lot of bad reviews. wild that you are doing a review now, I guess I will have to reconsider. I always have had to remove at least one arm in order to play guitar, so flip up arms was a main requirement. But I am not sure I am down for a mesh chair, my chair at work is mesh and its nice but I think I prefer a nice fabric or leather padded chair because.. well I don't know why.. I think I just assume it'll be more comfortable for gaming or activities other than work related stuff.. and the way mesh chairs always have a hard rim around the seats always makes me feel like I would bang the butt ends of my guitar on that hard part...

  • @Hobinator17
    @Hobinator17 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    5 months in, can confirm this chair prevents swamp ass 100%. The thin mesh doesn't allow for that stinky butt heat buildup, unlike my last gaming chair 😅 oh and it's pretty great for playing guitar

  • @riangarianga
    @riangarianga 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Could the back part of the seat be lifted/slanted upwards as well? I had such chair in an office and I've never found anything more comfortable. That posture kept my legs somehow active, and it removed the pressure from the back part of the thigh reaching the knee. The only other solution for office work is taking the seat really low, towards the natural resting position (some call it «Asian squat»), but that doesn't really work for guitar practice.

    I just got this chair a few weeks ago. The one thing I don't like is how aggressive the lumbar support is. Its like a protruding firm bar across the lumbar and even when adjusted to least aggressive tension it was not comfortable over a long session. I have put a cushion on the back that evens it all out and I quite like it with the cushion in place. I have hear others complain of this and just want to warn people. Thanks for the review.

    • @andrefludd
      @andrefludd  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a fair point. I really like that about it, but I can see why someone else wouldn’t. I’ve also found that if I adjust the seat forward enough it makes the lumbar feel less aggressive, but that is a totally different posture as well.

    i've long hoped someone would consider an ideal chair to play guitar in! there are a lot of great ones out there, but most don't also serve a purpose for being a solid chair for computer use/gaming/editing/etc. so this is great to see a company that appears to be making a chair that actually has useful features, and HOPEFULLY solid parts and build quality for once, instead of the "gaming chair" norm of lackluster adjustability, slop, and worst of all... cheap hardware. *shudders

    They make it without wheels so when I stomp a pedal I won’t roll back?

    • @le_th_
      @le_th_ 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Respectfully, if you have carpet, you won't be rolling far. lol If you have hardwood floors, you'll def need to put the brakes on the chair wheels so you don't roll.
      They make those plastic mats to place under the chair, on top of carpet, so a chair with wheels will be able to roll because it's so difficult otherwise.

  • @le_th_

    Touch choices: $600 awesome new chair or $699 D'angelico mini DC??? Hmmm...
    Also, having lived in Manhattan for 9 years, I def understand the beauty and the struggle of not having a car (having a car there did NOT make my life easier, it made it much more stressful and expensive). It was only *slightly* less stressful moving to Hoboken for 2 years, then I had to move back into Manhattan to get some peace and quiet (Hobokenites are noisy people!).
    Great tip for people who can afford it or save to purchase it!

    I kind of don't understand why the 45 degree angle classical sitting style is the ,,good" stance I used to play classical for like a year so originally I started playing electric like that as well but over the years I swapped over to the normal stance over my right knee. I get how it's more similar to how you'd play standing up, but that doesn't mean better, I can play a lot more difficult stuff, play it cleaner and quicker when I'm sitting normally. Only thing that I noticed that I can play cleaner are sweeps in the classical position

    • @andrefludd
      @andrefludd  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Comfort is going to be subjective, but playing over the right leg leads a lot of people to slouch. Left Arm often has more dexterity when it is lifted a bit more and that life can give the fingers more ability to stretch. This is difficult to fully explain in a quick youtube reply and I touched on different aspects in the different videos in the ergonomic playlist. Also covered in much more detail in the course.
