Reeves, the zonk fuzz has a octave up type fuzz tone which you have to fine tune the circuit to be in that sweet spot range which has to do with the biasing of the transistors and the guitars output impedance setting of the strat volume pot setting. Doyle Bramhall II gets that octave up type gated fuzz tones out of the zonk fuzz. The hard part is finding a zonk fuzz that can nail those octave up gated fuzz tones which takes a lot of fine tuning
