Empathy means that we are not indifferent to others' feelings and concerns. Thank you! We can make our world better every day by practicing Empathy and compassion. Thank you! We need to be reminded how to be very human beings.

Your comment about empathy, patriciagonzalez6903, beautifully captures the essence of what it means to be human. The ability to connect with others on an emotional level and share their burdens is a powerful gift. There's a quiet kindness in your words, a reminder of the positive ripple effects that empathy and compassion can create.
The Stoic philosophy often emphasizes the importance of reason and virtue. However, it doesn't negate the value of empathy. We're curious, have you encountered a way to integrate Stoic principles with empathy in your daily interactions? Sharing your thoughts could inspire others seeking to cultivate both reason and compassion in their lives.

True challenge is to balance all these elements and factors, especially in a charged situation in a negotiation or in a conflict issue.

Your comment hits the nail on the head, alierem4266. Striking a balance between these Stoic principles can indeed be a challenge, especially in the heat of the moment. There's a quiet wisdom in your words, acknowledging the complexities of applying reason and virtue in dynamic situations like negotiations or conflicts.
The ability to stay calm and collected under pressure is a valuable skill. We're curious, have you found any particular Stoic practices or techniques that help you navigate charged situations and find a balanced approach during negotiations or conflicts? Sharing your experiences could be incredibly helpful for others who find themselves in similar situations.

"It is not what happens to you that matters, but how you react to it." (Epictetus)
Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand and manage our own emotions, and the emotions of those around us. Epictetus reminds us that our reactions are within our control. Do you think the video's strategies focus on techniques to regulate our emotional responses, or explore how to better understand the emotions of others?

With due respect to anyone with adverse views to mine on this:
. lay 'measuring' emotional / psyhological make up of anyone (who are unknown to us) is a challenge in itself, let alone making effort to accommodate their behaviour, without any clue of their life's joyrney and obstacles they have to navigate. Add to this, effects of serious adverse experiences on them, is a toll order to understand.
. we have a good deal of opportunity and doing a lay assessment of people known to us / relatives / current or prospective life partbers with others in an outer circle in our own life and in this we will have a larger opportunity to understand how our approach is to dealing with their emotional load.
Although an assumption, as it is widely known, even psyhologists who are professionals in this will need at least several sessions with clients to grasp clients' view of their world and their response to it (before) a say, cbt plan can be drafted to assist them.

The Stoic's Guide to Emotional Mastery by Winston Meskill is a good book that I enjoyed. It’s great for learning how to stay calm and disciplined.
Another good one that i would recommend is - how to be stoic by Massimo Pigliucci.

Cultivating emotional intelligence through Stoic practices leads to greater personal freedom by enabling individuals to control their reactions and make rational decisions, reducing impulsive and emotional responses. Effective strategies include practicing mindfulness, focusing on the dichotomy of control, and engaging in regular self-reflection to maintain emotional balance and resilience.
