Pulled the trigger on this one after seeing your video (and some others). I'm still a bit afraid that I won't like it because I easily obsess over small things but we'll see. Shows a lot of potential, especially for the price!
hey mate, great review. just wondering if i have to press the zlink app everytime i want to use carplay/android auto or if there is a setting i can use to make it go to carplay without pressing any buttons?? sorry if it's worded badly haha in a rush!
@@ayanaito128 thank you :) it does automatically open CarPlay/Android Auto once it connects to your phone. The only time you really have to go into the ZLink app is if you come out of the CarPlay/Android Auto and want to get back to it. It basically connects automatically and open ZLink within around 5-10 seconds or so of the head unit booting :)
Hey mate, great video on the UA13 as I have recently installed in my Ba falcon and was very happy with the unit until I hesitantly did an upgrade (spoke to Eonon and they recommended that) as I could not hear the navigation audio on google maps and the radio audio would mute when in radio if you pressed the back key at the top. Well, it completely changed Zlink5 and now I have lost my split screen, and it made all the apps in Android Auto large, so obviously it has changed the aspect ratio of the screen for that app, and I am not impressed. I emailed Eonon and they said send a video to us (which I will) but will try to reset to factory settings to see what that does tomorrow. Thanks.
Hey mate weren't sure if you would reply but anyway, Eonon have solved my problem above although I did try a reset it did not work. They sent me a new software update (what it was before) and that solved the problem with Andoid Auto and Zlink5, so quite happy about that and also impressed with there after sales service. I haven't investigated the other small problems but I can live with that for now, love the unit. Thanks
I do want to point out something rather important and oft-overlooked... I noticed that the words "Android Auto and Apple CarPlay" were some of the first I heard, and heard them mentioned several times through the review. It's even the thumbnail "title" of the whole video. Why??? Nearly every time I catch one of these reviews those apps are prominently mentioned, and I still don't understand why people buy an Android head unit to use those restrictive, invasive, limited, very underwhelming pieces of software. The whole point of getting a head unit like that is so that you DON'T HAVE TO USE that trash! You can literally download and use ANY APP available. I've watched football games, traded crypto, diagnosed my vehicle, Googled anything and everything, sent payments, used guided meditation apps, trained my brain, and written music with the DAW I have on my UA12-S Plus. It is an Android tablet that you can put in your dashboard and hook up to your sound system, steering wheel, CANBUS, cameras, and GPS. Just go buy any piece of crap from Walmart if that's all the functionality you want. You're wasting the potential of a powerful machine, in my opinion. Great review though. 😁
Thank you :) I do slightly agree with you and I love the fact I can load in any Android app that I like. Especially the offline maps. However, Android Auto/CarPlay is a huge selling point these days and I honestly wouldn't buy a head unit without it now. The fact that everything I need to see from my phone is on the head unit is fantastic. I can see all of my messages, reply to them, etc. It's just really easy and intuitive to use :) I love being able to use both though. Thanks heaps for your comment and for watching :)
@@sterlinian I didn't at the time because this car/van doesn't have steering wheel controls. I did end up getting an aftermarket steering wheel controller and did wire it up to the SWC wires and it all works great
@@purity_2428 it's been really good so far. Very fast to lock on to your position (in fact by the time the unit boots it's already located and it boots very quickly).

It's been pretty good, I'm very happy with it still :)
@MichaelRoninTV That are my first impressions too. There really are some small things but overall I' happy with it.

has it lost all of the japanese warnings now? like the reverse, speed, etc? were they integrated into the stock head unit?
@@bdannnn yes and although I hated them at the time, I'm starting to miss the voice 🤣
Hello, Did you found the way to show the car brand logo on the start ?
You can do this in the factory settings I believe :)

Does Android auto have youtube music? As i don't have spotify and never will get it either. I would be bummed out if it didn't.
@@gintokisakata3073 I personally don't have/use TH-cam music but I do believe you can use it in Android Auto :)
