This video touched me so much. My dad's name is Richard and we had to put him in hospice care this year. He's hanging in there much longer than anyone expected. When the scammer, said Richard, Richard, I could see my Dad messing with this scammer during the call. It made me laugh and brought back old memories with him.

Lmao I caught my dad falling for one of these scams right at the beginning, he was lucky. I walked into the room and I heard him on the phone talking about his social being compromised and I immediately knew it was a scam-- Questioning the dude on speakerphone. Pretty sure my dad ignored me and kept talking to the guy and then later on thanked me and told me HE figured out it was a scam... LOL

In my country Venezuela and most of the countries in LATAM are running by Roman Laws which is means there is not innocence at first point, while here in the US you are not guilty until a judge prove you are. That is why here in america a good lawyer that understand pretty well the legal system can take you out LEGALLY from any trouble, while in most countries in LATAM is not like that, if the evidence just point a little bit to you, not matter what you lawyer say, not matter what if you lawyer won every argument in a court, you will be still fuckd. Example, that is why criminals here in the US have good lawyers because the laws work AND allows you to prove your innocence not matter what, while in LATAM a criminal, have to associate directly with the goverment because legally, there are no ways he can get out of troubles.
You are fuckd in the US if the case is against FBI or something like that, like “YourName vs. THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICA”, in those cases you are fckd, in others cases you have all the tools available to get out. That is the reason gang members here in the US study the law while gang members in LATAM dont study that, because doesnt work😂😂😂😂.

It's part of how they justify legitimacy, assuming the role of authority and then being impatient if you dare treat it as anything less than life vs. death. It is really upsetting that the tactics actually work on people who might not know better, but they've developed an answer to a lot of those kind of comebacks. Even worse when they pretend to have the ability to activate a warrant, or act like the FBI agents themselves.

People need to understand what’s the purpose of their SSN and how it functions within the government. It would make these scammers drop the SSN act.

Social security numbers were never meant to serve as identification.
It was just a way to track a person's earnings throughout their life and then pay out retirement benefits.
The way it's used today both in the public and private sector, at the doctor's office, to get into a house, a car, for credit cards, loans, anything finance related, job applications, and absolutely every government form under the sun has become very problematic.
Our SSN, for all intents and purposes, has become our identity moreso than even our name.
Given all that, and the fact that it's now become a permanent record of everything you've done in your life, it's not that far of a logical leap to say, "Someone stole it, it's tainted, we gotta toss it out and get you a new one."
The SSN is a very important number and people are devastated every day by identity theft. Scammers play on that very real fear.
Also that it's not pronounced "sosha-kitty number."

It got so absurd that the scammer didn't even care about the cards anymore. Granted he was on to it being a prank by that point he was not 100% and kit never revealed. He endured a lot. It was wonderful.

My mom got the microsoft pop up error message yesterday and called them!! I managed to help her hang up and remove their software from her computer but it was a struggle. I'm so confused. Why are they calling you if they know you are innocent? Why the need to clear your bank account if you are innocent? They are rambling, stumbling over the script and seem confused on how this scam is supposed to go. They are all over the place. A while ago when I was a nanny I was teaching my kids about scam calls. I had been receiving a lot of scam calls and so I answered one to show them what they are like. I SWEAR this was the scammer who was on the phone with me. I was shocked at how good his accent was and can’t forget it.
