Thought: poundcake might have been a way to use up a surplus of dairy and eggs? Maybe when it was time to freshen up and rid your pantry of aging supplies, you made a poundcake. We know they wouldn’t be wasteful so there must be a reason for such an indulgent recipe.

After learning from one of your previous chew n chats that you, Justine, love heavy metal \m/ , like myself, I have fallen in love with you even more! That intro "Welcome to the jungle, we've got pound cake" was totally rockin and gave me a good hearty chuckle 😂

Your live chats are always so much fun! Thank you. Despite the recent result in Ron's case, cutting your own hair is a great idea. You can learn to do it quite expertly. I started doing this years ago, after getting tired of overpaying for bad haircuts. Further, the sanitation of haircutting places is often questionable. At home, it's virtually free (after you buy the basic equipment needed), you can cut it just like you want it, at any time, and you will get better at it each time. I get better haircuts at home than I can buy, for free, never any wait, and it is always clean and safe. Self-reliance is always the best way to go.

Agreed! ive been cutting mine for about 5 years now, and while everyone was getting crazy pandemic hair I was just laughing 😂 I can cut it whenever I find time, and I always get exactly what I want - or when I don't I just have myself to blame 😅

Those would be amazing for breakfast with coffee.
Had no idea you taught classes! That’s really awesome. Living history is so invaluable. Be it what you and Townsends do or be it Medieval and Viking Age. We just can’t appreciate the things our ancestors did if we never experience those things for ourselves. People travelled across the country and the world on sail boats and by horseback! Now that we have planes and cars most of us seldom leave our own states. Crazy. The more advanced we get the less driven we are to live. Thanks for living guys!

Pink Lady is my #1 favorite. It is the perfect mix of sweet, sour, and “musty”.
They are a great all purpose apple for snacking and baking.
    They are about 30-40years old.
If I had to pick 1 apple that I would eat for the rest of my life Pink Lady would be the winner.
We have a UPick near my home. I will not go until Pink Lady is available.

That lavender brings back memories. When we lived in Richmond, VA a few years ago, we planted one outside. It was a "if it survives, great, if not, oh well" kind of things. It turns out that it LOVED that climate (ugg!) and literally took over two yards! Lol. We gave that stuff to anybody that wanted it, as much as they wanted. And the more we cut it back, the more it took over! 😂😂😂

So excited about all the trees you're going to be planting on your land. I have to tell you that down the road from where we live there is an apple orchard that's 100 years old. I collected some apples from them last year, I can take apples from there with the permission of the owners, the apples are absolutely delicious! I have never tasted apples like those before. I took the seeds and put them in a damp paper towel and a zip bag and put them in the refrigerator for six months. They sprouted and I just planted them in soil the other day. Hopefully, they're not a type of apple that has been tampered with or grafted, maybe I will be able to grow one of those wonderful apple trees. My husband teases me about going to look at my houseplants, and especially my seedlings, first thing in the morning. I am kind of obsessed with my plants also. I haven't been very successful starting apple tree plants. I gave a couple seeds that had sprouted to my employer several years ago and he successfully grew two trees and gave me one of them. I was thinking about sending you some of these apple seeds. 😄.... Pink lady apples are delicious but not as good as these apples from the apple orchard. 😁
