This is my first real video! I wanted to make this thanks to the lack of content about the Monsters Pin attacks. Hope you all enjoy it!

Fun fact: If you're pinned by Seregios on multiplayer and didn't manage to break free, he will fling you to other players which would also hurt them if they get caught in it
I think this is the same for most monsters that fling you, there's so much detail in this game
I found out today it's for any move that launches you when you get hit, not just the pins
There's another cool thing related to Seregios' pin. He'll also throw your own palico at you too!
*Seregios:* This bitch low HP! *YEET!!!*
Including Rajang, if you are solo then it will throw you, but if you a palico and you're pinned, it will throw to your palico, its damage is pretty high if hitted.
Damn, the drome pins are brutal. He holds you down while he gets his boys over to eat you all together

That's actually kinda unique.

I really appreciate the simplicity of Akantor’s pin. It’s not trying to eat you, it’s not trying to throw you, it just straight up tries to crush you with its massive weight. It’s almost sadistic how it slowly tries to turn you into a stain under its massive claws. Like it knows it can end you in an instant, but it’s taking its time.
I find it interesting that most of these pins include you being basically eaten, and not like swallowed whole, but being ripped and shredded by these monsters ( the crabs velocidrome, and zomtrios) . I feel like most of these would kill you outright, unless that armor is tanking all of those crushing bites, and tears.
Indeed, many of them are also used for the monster's eating animation.
lore based, our hunter is one in a million because of the batshit insane feats we pull off. i think i read somewhere that majority of hunters dont even get to fight or wont fight raths. hell, kut kus are not complete pushovers in lore
I've always seen it as they can't get through the armour, look at Zamtrios for example, he tries to chew the hunter, but is unable to get through the armour, so he just spits them back out, same with the Raths, they can't claw through your armour, so they opt to instead either backflip or fireball you, because they know that does something

I’d like to point out that in G-rank, Furious Rajang gets a new opening to the pin where it quickly stomps over to you, and it’s outright terrifying. This is a good video though; great organization.
Gammoth also has a stomping pin too, always catches me off guard

Also don't feel bad abour missing Gendrome, It's animation would the same as the rest of the Dromes. The effort of record this is still impresive

The Dromes: Stomp on you and bite you with their pack
Arzuros: Where's the honey Lebowski?
Redhelm Arzuros: Same as above but without honey steal
Default and Eldefrost Gammoth: The Smasher
Default and Furious Rajang: monke throwe
Default and Thunderlord Zinogre: Good doggo attempts to play but is too _ruff._
Default and Stonefist Daimyo Hermitaur: Pinch and spit

In MH4U, Desert Seltas Queen also had a pin attack. Picks you up by the tail pincers and then yeets you off with a blast of water (same as she does with a Desert Seltas drone).
@@Stratelier but for some reason the hunter survive while the drone goes Cracka-Boom even tho it a G rank level monster with decent defense against a low rank level hunter ( exclude the armour )

Honestly did not know the Magalas had a pin attack, and I’ve played generations and 4 ultimate a lot
I've almost never been pinned by Gore Magala directly, but I've seen it snag my Palico on countless occasions.
Definitely the best looking attack that initates the pin has to be Seregios: the dude flies in a zig zag, off your camera screen then comes out of nowhere
I like how Rajang looks around after it picked you up as if he's wondering where's the closest monster asshole it could shove you up in 🤣
Also imagine if chaotic gore magala would have a pin attack where if you're fighting it with other hunters it could pick not one... but TWO hunters up, and straight up SMASH them together in a fit or rage before throwing them away... just a thought🙃

My favorite is still Akantor's. The way he just slams that paw down on you like "you _dare_ challenge me, worm?" and presses his entire weight down, plus it's a VERY long pin to struggle out of. Basically, if you didn't bring Dung Bombs to the hunt then _you are already dead._

A thought I had after watching some of the pin attacks... You know how struggling is how to escape them? When the player doesn't struggle, I feel like it would be cool/interesting for some of the pins to just... not end. Like with khezu or the deviljhos, and maybe zamtrios.
If you think about it, why should they let you go so that you can hit them again if you're not even trying to escape?
Or maybe the pin attacks could have something like a second stage if you haven't struggled enough.
Imagine getting vored by a Khezu...

@@FumiTaki what if your heath just drops to zero and you don’t respawn back at camp. Your camera just now follows the khezu instead for the rest of the hunt

Never seen the Zinogre, Seltas or Magala pins before. Guess a lot of these are only when the monster is exhausted and needs to chow down on something to get stamina back. I do know that Glavenus' pin attack is exclusive to the G-Rank version.
You can hear bones crunching when Zinogre bites you.
Savage Pickle 2nd pin really makes you feel like a Dodogama or other pickle weapons it throws you in World sheeee

I don't remember what armor I was using, but I do know I stacking as many defensive skills as I could. Plus I was using the Hermitaur Hunting Horn which had an innate defense bonus and the defense up buff. Even with all that plus divine blessing, I still barely had any health left. And this was against the single-player version of Akantor, I definitely wouldn't have survived the G-rank version
how do you record this?
Basically I got all the clips by using the video recording feature on the switch. Then I transferred all the video files onto my PC and compiled them all together using Adobe Premiere

Don't quote me on this, but I believe only Desert Seltas Queen has a pin attack. Though considering how rare some monster's pins are, I wouldn't be surprised the regular version could do it too
