I often use it so rather than rice as my pulse in a chicken soup make your soup as you would a chicken rice soup but replace the rice with orzo.and yes I've bought it so in Aldi, Lidl and Tesco in the past.this takes an ordinary chicken soup to an entirely different level.
I've just ordered some salt and pepper pots like your Amanda. I fancy myself as a chef now! Haaa! It's nice shaking the pan about with a glass of wine. I'm loving it.
Thank you so very much for sharing this one Amanda. Looks delicious. Yummy. I’m the same as you as regards chopping an onion though. I do it the same way as I have for the last 38 years. 😂😂 I’ve tried that new fancy way and I can’t do it for the life of me 😂😂
Going to look in Aldi tommorow for orzo. I had never heard of it..what a great quick tasty meal .. Thanks Mand.. Always something different on your channel.. X
Iaiways enjoy watching and learning from you your so brilliant explaining things such a good teacher. Love every thing you cook and your approach to making things so easy. Maureen xxxxx
I love Risoni it’s beautiful and so quick. I use it quite often and I’m going to use it for my dinner tonight. I’ll make garlic bacon, Parmesan and lemon and maybe chuck some capsicum in as well. Mmmmm! Im looking forward to my dinner tonight. I’ve always bought mine at Aldi but at ou4 Aldi, I’ve forgotten the brand but its always in a blue box and in the middle with everything not with the pasta. Last time I got it I couldn’t find it at Aldi so I went to Coles (a supermarket in Australia) and found some but it was the one you had and it’s a little bigger than the other one but that makes no difference. Mi jus5 love it. Thanks Amanda, love your videos.
I think this looks great, and as it’s nearly 7pm NY time I think it would be a good idea to make this tonight.I have rice,as the texture of orzo bothers me,I feel the same about some of the other pastas,I don’t care for spaghetti much, prefer linguine, and fettuccine,I don’t like elbows either, but like most of the other shapes, doesn’t make much sense, but with me,there are not many flavors I don’t like, but there are a few textures.😊
You know Man, I have tried to leave the ends on onions myself loads of times but it doesn't seem to work for me either I still cut them same as you. Other than the orzo pasta I have all the other ingredients in so I might bob to aldi tomorrow and get some and make this dish tomorrow for lunch it looks amazing, Dave dont like bacon but that small amount will not notice I reckon thanks for another great recipe love to you and Ian and the fam Maggie
Hello Absolutely a delixcous meal once again. Thank you. I am not sure if i can buy Orzo pasta in Australian super markets. I think I have seen a similar pasta. Could I use risotto?? Debbie - Aussie world.
Ouick tip: put cherry tomatoes on a small suddplate put an overturned4 sideplate on top . Insert knife in the small gap. Viola! All cherry 5omatoes sliced at once. Lovely dish today enjoy
@@hazelbowler6870 during the summer if you like to use pasta in salads, try Orzo. It’s not so intrusive and it soaks up the flavour of everything in the dish. Great with a lemon and oil dressing poured over the salad
Hi Amanda, Asda do orzo pasta for about £1. I’ve bought it there a few times. It’s lovely in minestrone soup. This looks delicious as all your food does. I wish I lived in your house lol xx
I use orzo as a stuffing for whole chicken in a casserole pot (on a bed of celery and onion, with stock, adding mushrooms towards the end)- it's delicious, the orzo swells up and absorbs all the chicken juices. But this, I'll definitely be trying, as me and my better half love orzo, spinach, feta, lemon and bacon! One for date night I think, thanks DL!
If you google 'orzo chicken' you get different variations. One is using dried porcini mushrooms, they give a nice earthy flavour. (and oc not all the orzo goes in the cavity, not enough room!)@thedinnerlady9180
Looks delicious. That’s for me this evening.
Love how you always try something different and out of your comfort zone. Everything you cook looks delicious 👌👌😘

I’ve never heard of orzo Mand, but what s as fabulous mid-week meal. I’m definitely going to do this recipe. Lovely meal xx
It's great for using in stuffed peppers instead of rice. Many, many years ago I worked in Greece and was able to bring some home with me.
