Your are the bestest! I could make a BP for my train system, and I did... But it wasn't as thought out and awesome as yours, so I F-key'd that and my (6th) playthrough is better because of your work, that you happily give to your community.
Hey there Bitz, i did a massive train highway in my 1.0 save. Although not as pretty as yours mine had a nice little feature that you dont. This is just a tips, but you can add belts into the floor, in the way that you only see the edges of the beltbut can still run down it

The rails and hypertubes can be placed down within the blueprints, you just treat them the same way as conveyor belts. You leave a space to connect them manually.
Turns can be blueprinted. You need 2 modules to do it. A turn start, and a turn continued. The trick to it is that they are identical except that the turn continued has the first row of tiles deleted. That allows you to just snap them in place using blueprint mode.
@@reapertemptations I think TotalXclipse has a video but i cannot find the exact one right now. It is incredibly simple, though. First, build your curve as you normally would and then you make a new blueprint that is exactly the same but you delete the very first foundation and you're done. That second BP is the one you use to continue your curves. The first one you only use one time to start a curve. Once you built it, you will see why. The first BP has a piece that goes "straight" and that would mess up the curve if you pasted it again and again. The second BP does not have that so it curves forever.
@MisterNightfish wish I had read this comment before I found this out the hard way ... had redo a lot, but it works now ... your comment is still appreciated.
You actually don't even need the turn start as it's just adding an extra unnecessary 1 straight tile, just snap the "continued" to your already straight rail blueprint.
Hey Bitz, I highly recommend you do put rails on your blueprints here. You're right they don't attach automatically, but, it does mean you only have to reattach every second bleuprint, which will automatically attach to the ones that one connects to, and also, it makes it so much faster to re-add the rails, you just delete, and reconnect to the rail on either side rather than stretching out long bits of rail. This is how I do my rail blueprints and it's honestly so much quicker. Bit of feedback. The platform from "5L Tower with Platform" is lower than the platform from all the "5LP" blueprints. It'd be nice if those were at the same level so they are compatible with each other. Otherwise, absolutely amazing system, it feels so much more industrial than previous iterations.
I split the difference and have a blueprint that is just two tracks of minimum length, spaced appropriately, so that I can place it with blueprint snap every ~3 blueprints. It's also just generally useful to be able to place a fixed length perfectly straight rail section on demand, makes handling a bunch of edge cases with ramps & curves way easier.
@@ElDubsNZ great idea! I'm thinking of applying this to belts, do we know if a blueprint of 3 splitters would be able to attach onto 3 different belts, all with even spacing, such that the small section of belts could fuse with the larger part?
I’m high-key jealous that you can your factories and everything look soooo good. I can do the production of everything just fine but I just don’t have that vision or patience to make anything look good.
same. like i get SOME ideas in games like Valheim and Once Human when building houses and shit - but for the life of me, I cant Imagine a factory lol. What ive tried to get me going that ive had some luck with is ill like google "architecture" (crazy architecture, architecture examples, cool architecture, ect ect). I look at the shapes and mess with shit in the blueprint creator (i have a save where i can just build with no cost to make blueprints so thats where I do must of the "testing"). From there, I just try to recreate stuff I like and as I go along, I get ideas of "oh i can pout a catwalk here" or "i can change this to this so this fits better". I dont have a creative bone in my body but ive always found it easier to imitate real life shit and then just add my own twist to it
0:45 The thing I like about this, is they will in fact try to fix this. They don't just shrug off problems. They will usually fix it in less than 2 builds, especially if it's a serious bug. That's some quality game deving mindset they have, and they love their baby.
After hearing that you were intending to release these blueprints around Christmas, I spent the last couple of days on and off updating the Mk2 railway design to match your current theme. Now, when I finally finished updating, I find you've released the blueprints! 😂 Looking forward to using them! Absolutely loving this series so far. The heatsink factory has to be one of my most favourite designs I've seen on this game! Keep up the great work!
Bitz, I appreciate the painstaking detail you go through. I don't know how to build these kinds of structures with the tools given in Satisfactory, so it helps to understand things like curves and painted beams.
I have been struggling to come up with an idea for for something like this for so long & for some reason have just had blockage after blockage. This video is like an epiphany & has given me so many ideas to try with my own designs. Thank you a ton, Bitz!
They should really add a mid/late game feature to dump all the stuff back into the dimensional depot when you dismantle things to prevent your inventory from overflowing.
That would not work for most of us that use a mall dim depot aproach. As soon as I use the materials they get replaced into the dim depot automatically out of storage
@@andragon2485 Yeah, that's why anything you put *back* into the depot should end up in a "downloader" so it can get re-sorted into a mall or sunk. It doesn't have to go back into the same place you take your inventory from to build stuff. That also means you can't connect the uploaders and downloaders together to move items across the map as they both serve different instances of the depot. Essentially you would implement the same game dynamic we have now, but in reverse.
I really do wish there was a way to organise the blueprints other than manually in game! Thank you for these, though, I definitely appreciate all you do, Bitz!
Thank you for sharing. I only started playing in update 8 and still learning how to do things so getting blueprints like this to work with/from is most awesome.
As someone who has come from Factorio, having to reconnect rails and other elements of blueprints is downright painful. Give me my "rail line in a book" blueprints!
This is great content. Thanks for the ideas! Quick suggestion. Use your middle lane to drop trains down the center and to there stop. You can have trains exit and leave using that center area between your power towers. I can't wait to get home and play with your train blueprints!
27:06 you can place an inverted ramp and a non inverted ramp in the same spot and it doesn't look bad at all. you can even put a couple of signs with emissive light inside them for extra effect.
Did you see Dortamur's hypertube network videos? The system allows to get directly to the chosen destination, without hopping in and out midway. Incorporating something like that might be useful, since you have hypertube in the highway anyway.
I've also been messing with train lines and the upramp and downramp are the things that I'm really struggling with. They end up thicker than the rest of the bridge and that just ends up creating issues with how it looks. Its a pain.
This couldn't be more perfect. I was just about to start building my train line. While I will most definitely use these blueprints, there is only problem. This will look too good compared to everything else in my world lol
This is incredible, thanks to you I managed to also build a world highway. May i please ask you to show us how you organize it? I find a lot of trouble configuring lines, and signs.
One day, if they ever make functional switches for tracks so your train doesn't clip through solid objects when merging or changing tracks I would buy the game and enjoy making something like this :) Here's to hoping it will happen heh
It's beautiful, but does such a detailed layout scale well in "end game"? Like object count wise and performance/save time? Can you go really big (like max out production chains) and still "waste" objects like that?
There are 298 Mercer Sphere's in the world to collect and someone was worried about 12 of them being wasted? You don't even need that many to complete the Tech tree in the MAM and set up a storage feed for each item you need to build with. The complaint is baseless.
Can you use the hyper tube, in multiple parts of short sections in a massive circle. To make an accelerator / Haddon colider . Then toss in nuculer waste cans till they start glitcching?
What is the thought process on Merging this "Mega Train Highway" Do you ever merge a line like this in a Y intersection or a Cross Intersection? Or is this specifically just for an outer highway design? I have been mulling over a spaghetti overpass system and cant quite wrap my brain around it. Maybe it's just not worth me doing yet.
Hey, you mentioned that you cant put Walls in an Angle but thats not true, you can place Road barriers in any direction and angle, then take a Wall, hold ctrl and replace the road barrier with the wall/fences etc. ;)
so before i get into trains , do you keep them on the world grid so you can fit them to factories, or go free form and build factories off the train lines? i was thinking about doing a main station then running trains to where they need to go so i can do curved foundations and running factories from the train grid. i tried doing curves before and they didnt match up with the word grid then got annoyed and started again lol
Hello, I also tried my own blueprint with rails and it looks flush, but .. in the end, my train stocked after every blueprint and I have to delete the whole rails, making new. How is it possible to get to rails-blueprints together and the train is running? Thx for help!
love the video been watching it over and over again to get the methods stuck in my brain, one thing i'm confused about though? I started on the world grid then made a turn like you said, that is supposed to be a 90 degree turn, so I started going west, then when the turn is ended its going north. If i then place a straight piece, my lengths are off the world grid by like a nudge, have i done something wrong or is this what happens?
I really wish he showed how to do the curves from the actual blueprint instead of placing the blueprint after, I can't use the blueprints because of this.
Once I reach the "saved games" file I right click the file and make a shortcut and put it on my desktop...then when I want to add blue prints from where ever I can click it and go to blueprints..easy peasy...also it's useful for when I want to upload to the satisfactory calculator to update my map...
huh..... when I try to use nudging to make turns it never works out for me, there's either a gap in the foundations or its too close the the foundation I want to turn from so watching you do it without any problems confused me.
