Join me, Pastor Brad, as I share my unforgettable VIP experience at a STRYPER concert! In this video, I recount the joyful journey of planning and traveling from Tennessee to Indiana to attend the concert at The Vogue in Indianapolis with my brother Brent. The concert was on June 16th, Father's Day, and Brent's birthday was on June 15th, making it a perfect birthday gift for him!
For Brent's birthday, I purchased VIP tickets so we could meet the band and enjoy the best seats in the house. It was a dream come true! Meeting Robert Sweet, Perry Richardson, and Michael Sweet was an incredible experience-they were warm, gracious, and truly appreciative of their fans. I had the chance to share with them my long-held feelings of appreciation for their years of great witness for Christ and the amazing music that has been the soundtrack of our lives.
This video is a heartfelt tribute to STRYPER, their music, and the unforgettable memories of that special night. Don't miss out on this detailed recounting of an amazing concert experience and the joy of meeting our Christian rock heroes!

A BRIEF BIO
Pastor Brad is exactly who he sounds like, a Pastor named Brad--who is also an 80s style, Christian metal recording artist. Growing up during the golden age of metal, Brad picked up the guitar in 1982. In 1987 he became a Christian, a decision that revolutionized his life & continues to do so to this day. In 2004 he launched Pastor Brad Rocks as a platform for sharing his music with the world. To date, Brad has released more than two hundred songs!
Brad has been blessed to work with several of his heroes! Richard Lynch & Dee Harrington (SAINT) appear on several songs on RESHREDDED (2006). Les Carlsen (Bloodgood) laid the lead vocal on HE LOVES ME (BREAK OUT, 2010) & Ken Tamplin contributed the lead vocal on TURN UP THE LIGHT (BREAK OUT 2010).
CHRISTIAN METAL PASTOR
Being both a Christian Pastor & a Hard Rock/Metal artist/music fan, Brad has a stong desire to serve the "heavy music" community. The Primary Aim of The Pastor Brad Rocks Channel is to Rock You (everyone) Up for Jesus with Classic Style Christian Hard Rock & Metal Music, & Practical Bible Teaching. Pastor Bob Beeman of Sanctuary International is another "Christian Metal Pastor" (who I respect deeply). My hope is that this channel, in concert with others like Pastor Bob's will serve the Christian Hard Music Community well and reach Hard Rock & Metal Spiritual Seekers--with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
HOW TO DESCRIBE PASTOR BRAD’S MUSIC?
If you tossed Stryper, KISS, Iron Maiden, Whitecross, AC/DC, Barren Cross, Metallica, Idle Cure, Motley Crue, Petra, Judas Priest, SAINT, Ozzy Osbourne, Theocracy, Van Halen, Ken Tamplin, Scorpions, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, Randy Rhoads, Angus Young, Ace Frehley, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss into a CHRISTIAN BLENDER and they came out playing Christian Hard Rock and Classic Metal Music, you’d have Pastor Brad’s classic 80s style Christian Hair Metal Music!

Awesome video pastor! 😎🙏🎶🎶🎸👊🥁🎶💕 I met Michael In Portland Oregon when his first Solo album came out. He is very humble and was very nice to talk and hang out with him. I am glad you and your brother got to go see them. Prayers for OZ, and family and all in Jesus Christ mighty name
Amen, and thank you so much for sharing that! My brother actually got a picture with Michael back on that first solo tour too! Thanks for sharing brother!
Thank you pastor 😎🙏💕🎶🎸🥁🎶 Hope to talk again. GOD Bless you/family/your church family@@PastorBradRocks
I'm glad you got to see them. It Blows me away you missed them in the Hay day 84-90. I'm a few years younger than you. Your my brother's age and me and my bro were in metal bands together. We weren't in Christian bands but I was a Christian. I got him to go and see them on the soldiers tour first which was Great. Then came THWTD and OMG were they Amazing. We seen them 2 times on that tour. Once with hurricane opening at an auditorium in Michigan and then the Album Blew Up and they came back to Detroit and played at Pine Knob with about 10 thousand people. They also had 2 bands with them ( TNT and Loudness). It's was one of my Favorite concerts. The in God we trust tour was at the Palace of Auburn hills and I thought they were Incredible again. I could go on and on about these.guys. my favorite thing is that 40 years later and they're still around and as good as ever.
Super-cool... yup... I have no idea why I didn't go see them in the day---I mean I went to practically every concert that came to Indy------and they must have come... weird---but I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had to see them since 2003! Thanks for sharing!
That white ep was one of my first christian rock and metal music that i bought in the mid 80s very 😎👍 Love you Brother keep up the great work that you do
Awesome-----thank you for sharing that man! It's my pleasure to share these vids with you bro! Thankful they are a blessing! Onward and upward for/with Jesus!
Hello Pastor! I was at the Vogue that night with my daughter! I've enjoyed your videos previously. If I had noticed you I would have come up to say hi. When Michael walked across the stage and handed a Stryper Bible to a young woman that night, that was my daughter. She was excited to get one. She just graduated from Taylor University, my alma mater, and finally got to attend a concert. BTW. My wife's family is living in the Cookeville, TN area. Livingston and Alpine. Three wheeling in Alpine was a lot of fun! Fun times visiting family. Love Tennessee! God bless you and your ministry to your congregation!
Dude, sorry we didn't connect at the concert, would have been great to meet you and your daughter. I remember the moment when Michael handed your daughter that Bible... what a great memory. I'm well acquainted with Taylor U... I attended Anderson U. (Anderson being my home town) for 3 years... before transfering to Johnson U. In Knoxville, TN. I saw the Newsboys open for Mylon Lefever (Spelling?) at Taylor in 1990ish... It was the Newsboys first trip to the U.S. (I think)...the album they were touring on was "Hell Is For Wimps." Ahhh, I love those big, open, flat Indiana corn fields!!! :-) If you ever make it back to cookeville on a weekend--love to invite you to worship with us at First Christian -- www.fcc-cookeville.org -- Blessings!
Perry looks a lot like Steve Taylor (Writer of the quirkiest Newsboys Songs and a Musical Artist and Singer in his own right.)❤🔥
That's an interesting comment, it's been a while since I've really considered what Steve Taylor looked like, but you might just be right!
What a treat! Thanks for this awesome share fest. It felt like half of the band was missing without Oz. What a blessing for you and your brother to get to see Michael and his brother play in the sandbox together. God bless and metal on!
Yeah, missed Oz... But it was a great evening! Blessings!
Awesome! I'm glad you got to meet the band. Hopefully next time you'll get to meet Oz. I've been a fan since '86 Met and seen the band umpteen times over the years. I run their official fan channel stryper tube. And me playing keys I loved Will adding keys to the songs! I lost my wife last year and Michael and Lisa have been so supportive to me with words and hugs. Thanks for sharing this experience with us! Blessings!
So sorry about your loss brother... praying for you today. Thanks for your encouragement to me! It's a wonderful thing to have God's family around us! So, glad STRYPER has been a big part of that family experience in my life!
What a cool story and Video of the performance (and a fun package). Thank you Brad for sharing! Robert was super friendly to me as well. Standing in line in Ft Lauderdale around the year 2003 or so and waiting for their show to start, I told my wife that I felt out of place because I was the only one with super long hair. Suddenly Robert taped me on the shoulder and said hello. He had very long hair also. I know it sounds silly but what a coincidence or was it? Rock on brother and peace be with you, God Bless.
Super super cool... I love that story! Blessing to you my friend. I hope/trust you're doing well!
I have been doing more meet and greets in recent years. I really enjoy it. If you are a fan it is a big thrill to meet your favorite bands. Everyone is very friendly. I geek out too. I'm typically not into acoustic music, but they sounded good.
Yep, it was awesome! You know, what made the acoustic thing cool, was that I have seen them several times full line with amps. This was just a neat change-up! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch the video and share that comment!
I saw them a few weeks ago at Millersville PA. They were awesome!!!!
Very cool brother! Thanks for watching and commenting!
thats awesome! What a adventure you had with your brother! I am trying to make it to Immortal Fest! God bless ya!
Thanks Terry, yes it was a fun one! Dude, if you make it to immortal fest definitely email me at pastorbrad1985@gmail.com and we will connect!
@@PastorBradRocks sounds like a plan!!
So, I'm curious....I know you were struggling with Mike and his comments regarding Rob Halford. Were you able to discuss that with him, or had you settled that issue prior to the M&G?
Such a great question! The meet and greet was way too programmed (with a line of people behind me) to dig deep into anything--so no chance to do much more than greet, etc. For the most part, I have settled the matter in my heart. If there was ever an appropriate opportunity to really have a conversation with Michael about that matter--I would love to have it, but in the meantime ---dude, I have decided to just appreciate all of the great ways God has used STRYPER to encourage me/my faith for four decades... and to entrust Michael (and truly -- all of us) to the Lord's care. The Lord is a good shepherd and He knows perfectly how to guide His sheep. I know I have areas in my life that God is working on -- for sure! And I trust that God's Spirit will continue to lead, convict, and grow Michael too! Thanks for asking!
Who stepped in for OZ when he was dealing with his health issues?
In the video I mention the guy... I honestly forget right now :-) ... He played Keys and dod BGVocals... which worked with the acoustic set.
*GOD DAMN Evil* is my favorite song of Stryper's but they didn't play it when I saw them on their History Tour at the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum, they didn't play my 2nd Favorite either #TakeItToTheCross, they played their pop music stuff, it was good though, Michael's got a voice for pop.
I'm glad you got to see him! Thanks for being part of this community brother!
What, no Richard Alfonso Martinez (born June 18, 1961), better known by the stage name Oz Fox...?
Way to "flex" with your stryper trivia knowledge! I know dude... bummer... but--like I said in the video--it's a great reason to consider doing it again! I did hear that Oz is recovering well! Praise The Lord! Thanks for watching and sharing your supreme "oz insight!" :-)
That’s right, Oz is off tour right now and is at home trying to get his health in order. God bless Oz and his family, put your healing hands on Oz, Lord 🙏
Hey thats awesome. I went through a bunch of your videos and they're great but I don't see any reactions to "Christian" power metal band Theocracy. I highly recommend them. Matt Smith, singer, guitarist, songwriter, producer is amazing as well as the rest of the band.
Awesome, welcome in man! Yes, totally familiar with theocracy! Matt started around 2003ish about the same time I started writing and recording! Theocracy is a great band, they're just slightly outside of my 80s Metal sweet spot, but there's no denying that they're awesome! I did just do a video on Christian power metal, it features narnia, rob rob rock, and theocracy! Check it out! Blessings brother!
@@PastorBradRocks oh ok I must have missed that video. yeah I discovered them back around the time Mirror of Souls came out in 08'. I have all their stuff on cd, mp4's and Vinyl.. ha. I just wish they could get more exposure so they could do a decent tour, I live in AZ and they just don't get out that far.. :(
I hope to be a preacher someday. I'd NEVER wear a stryper shirt. I dont praise them in any way. They're an extension of God with multiple backsliding. I only have a single word for my saviour who did everything for my sorry butt...AWESOME!
God is good! Yup--THANKFUL for the gopel and for all of the "clay jars" (2 Cor. 4) who carry/share it! Blessings bro! Keep following Jesus!
So a lot of people back slide God forgives, and who are you to judge? You have no right to judge other people.
@@PastorBradRocksShe's his second wife his first wife died from cancer.
Yet you're judging the members of Stryper like you're Jesus Christ. Come on, knock it off, you sin as much as they do (unless you're a son of God and perfect)
@@trendmassacre8423 💯🔥 I applaud you for speaking your mind.
A pastor who likes metal! I like that. I'm new to your channel and I noticed you're really into the 'old christian metal' stuff. How about some epic bombastic symphonic metal?
Check out our song release earlier this year. You can hear I'm influenced by bands like Tourniquet. Don't get fooled, the song has quite some changes.
Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/6awfzJzdxjI/w-d-xo.html
Hey thanks so much for sharing that! Yep, I'm an old school dude! But I do appreciate a lot of the new Christian hard Rock bands. Not really into new metal. Some of it has some real catchy elements though. Anyway, thanks a lot for watching and sharing!
I personally know Mike sweet. He got too cocky and his christian business is about money. He would never give up what he gained for the world. Christian music is about making money. When the money does collapse so do their hearts. Jesus Christ was a carpenter with hardly no money. He cared about the people. These kind of people are worldly. Money means nothing. Someone else is going to get it. The dead who come back don't even talk about money and fame. Last days are here.
You are right, the last days are here. Friend I'm sorry, it seems like something has hurt you. I don't know Michael personally, as you claim to. But I know that all of us have to work for a living, I'm a pastor and I serve the Lord and I also am supported financially for that work. The Workman is worth their wage. Michael and stryper happen to be musicians. Praise God they've chosen to sing about Jesus, and God has used them in amazing ways. Yes they earn a living from it, last time I checked that's not sinful. In the end, how about if we all just commit to praying for any brothers or sisters that we are concerned for in any way, and allow the Lord to work in the hearts of his servants, Romans chapter 15 the first couple verses come to mind. Thank you for watching and sharing! May God guide, and keep all of us who trust Jesus!
@@PastorBradRocks would you give up money and material possession to really walk with Jesus? 98% of you "worldly christians" won't. I have. I love being poor. I give money away when I have it help including my time. 98% of people drive a newer car and won't settle for the lesser things that matter the most.
