At the instant the director switches from the side camera angle (around 2:25) in a microsecond Doyle removes the capo. You almost can't see it falling to the floor it's that fast. On the transition from two George Harrison classics, HERE COMES THE SUN and SOMETHING (in the Way She Moves). The greatest living finger-style guitarists -- Doyle Dykes and his good friend from Australia Tommy Emmanuel -- deliver the most beautiful Beatles medleys! This one is second to none, you may agree. Don't miss WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS beginning around the 6:00 minute mark. Rythmic and harmonic perfection. Love that closing allusion to DAY TRIPPER. How the Beatles' gifted lead guitarist George Harrison would have loved this! Thank you Bill Barnett and RANDY'S PICKIN' PARLOR for this . . . treat for eyes and ears!
I got see this guy perform at a local music store a couple years ago when he was brought in to demonstrate the Godin line. He is just a fantastic player to watch.
That Olson really is so gorgeous and plays so beautifully. Love the Beatles Medley. Almost as good as when you play it on one of your 12 String guitars. Bravo for this performance! Very enjoyable.
This is really amazing with the selected quotes from other songs worked into the arrangement! Also, removing the capo without any break in the music. I had to go back and search for when and how he did it, almost hidden from view!
The first time that I saw him was on Larry's Country Diner. And, I was blown away with his picking skills, especially with a six string. If you close your eyes you would think that he was playing the 12 string guitar. I would rate him up there with the likes of Roy Clark, Chet Atkins and Glenn Campbell. And that's going some, to rate him that high. However, let's not forget Jimmi Hendricks and of course Eddie Van Halen, the two best rock guitarist. I won't say exactly where he rates but he's in with some awesome guitae players.
For whatever reason, I only recently found Doyle Dykes. He's absolutely amazing in both talent and interpretation. I won't compare them in terms of "better than" but I am reminded of Tommy Emmanuel. Ranking them in relation to each other would be a disservice to both. I've seen Tommy many times and spoken with him as well, and he expresses nothing but respect and admiration for anyone who gives their best to the instrument. One thing about Tommy is that my favorite pieces by him are his own compositions, such as "Those Who Wait" and "Angelina." I'm curious to know if Doyle composes any of his own pieces. I've searched him out on TH-cam now that I've found out about him and haven't seen him perform his own music. That's no criticism, as I said, he's awesome. Just curious. Also thanks for to the algorithm for showing him to me and shame on it for taking so long!
He plays each of the individual artists. He said, one time on stage, that his style is a combination of many artists. He had to figure each one out and incorporate his favorite parts of each, into building his style. And he DOES have his own style! I heard him, one time, on a video, made in a store; someone asked him how many artists he could play like...so he showed them. He started playing a tune and each time he would get done playing like one artist, he would "call on" another artist, but it was him all along, but you'd swear it was that artist he was playing like! The guy is AMAZING !!! They don't make SHOWMEN like Him, every day
why silly remarkers who possibly could not play an extended chord sequence constantly tell some one as brilliant as Doyle how to play. why dont you start your own youtube channel so we mortals can learn from you.
Let the guy earn a living and provide for his family. Like most artists, he’s good enough to be paid to use that pickup and certain other equioment. It puts food on the table for his wife and kids, whether you like the sound or not.

Utterly embarrassed that I have never heard of him until now. I am a huge guitar player fan, how could I have missed him? Brilliant!
He is definitely someone you should follow. Chet Atkins praised him and he's played on stage with Tommy Emmanuel.
Doyle is an incredible player and fantastic person. A+++++all the way...God bless him!
Doyle is the Greatest!!

Awesome! Doyle is perfect!

It is easy to see why Chet praised his skills!
Beautiful guitar!

Fire!
"The only guitar picker on the planet that I would pay to see" Chet Atkins
Did Chet really say that???
I saw and heard him say it on Ralph Emory's TNN program.
@@eddkerkow Maybe DD is too cheap to comp him tickets. LOL....that's a joak.
Chet played with all the greats and knew talent when he either heard or saw it!

He tries hard to wake up his nearly dead people but finaly gave up, close his eyes and play for the ghosts and himself and he had reason.
Judging by the audience, you'd think this was a concert at an assisted-living center... LOL
probably is.
So what if it was. Don't you think that they could enjoy his expert guitar picking as you and me?
The sun never came up that fast
Boom.
All George Harrison songs good deal
DOYLE IS THE GUITAR !
It’s almost here comes the Sun.
Bill....it's a GEORGE HARRISON medley💜
why silly remarkers who possibly could not play an extended chord sequence constantly tell some one as brilliant as Doyle how to play. why dont you start your own youtube channel so we mortals can learn from you.
😍😍😍
Wow!!!
which guitar is it? Sound awesome!
It's not the guitar good man
It’s an Olsen. Made by Jim Olsen in Circle Pines MN.
Hey! Thank you sir!
Not Beatles, George Harrison.
that's like saying "Not Beatles, Lennon & McCartney"
A lot of notes. Somehow you’ve lost the songs.
please don't sing. just play the guitar
he sings ok
agreed. he's a great guitar player but he can't sing to save his life... Oh, well. you don't need to when you are that good on the guitar.
Just listen, and shut it.
he needs a better guitar pickup, stop using UST!!!!!
