I've had my Ironwood for a while now and I only just tried Charcoal pellets for the first time. Do not wait as long as I did. The things you read about problems with those pellets are for older models. The first burgers I made when I used them actually had that charcoal flavor I get from my Kamado. I was shocked. Now I use 50/50 Royal Oak Charcoal Pellets and Bear Mountain. I've bought just about all of the premium pellets and Bear Mountain has better flavor and burns cleaner than the expensive ones.
Still rocking the Ironwood 650...but very, very tempted. Better to seek forgiveness than ask permission from the wife, wouldn't you say? #teamtraeger #freeviski
I convinced my wife I need this smoker. I’m relatively new to the game and needed something relatively dummy proof. Appreciate the honest info. Will be watching more videos for sure. Definitely going to follow the page.
If i want convenience I just go get some good local BBQ. I live in Texas so it’s everywhere. I stick burn because I enjoy how it’s something I can do that slows me down.
I use a Char Broil Bullet smoker I got on Black Friday for $160. It’s cheaply made and takes a ton of work to tend to. But I’ll never pay for and eat meat at a restaurant again. The best meat I’ve ever had was in this thing. Someday I’ll get me a nice Traeger or something similar. But for the price I paid, I love it. lol.
I’m more of a Recteq guy myself but I can’t hate on someone for liking to smoke meat, whichever the method or brand. Much love for your channel and content! #teamtraeger #freeviski #teamrecteq
Just purchased the Camp Chef Woodwind Pro Series 36. Pellet smoker kicked up 10 notches. Has a smoker box over fire box. Load it with wood chunks, chips, or charcoal. Control smoke from pellets from phone, and get that bark from the wood chunks. Maybe Camp Chef will send you one. Love your vids
Outstanding review. I have Transfer Pro 780 and the Iron wood XL is going to be my next upgrade. The super smoke feature is the one I miss most on my Pro 780. That feature is one I woud use on my smoked fish. I'm also in FL and you are spot on with the heat and humidity and their effect on outdoor grilling and smoking gear. Thanks for sharing you review. You really helped me make my decision.
Fine job explaining that you are not a smoker newbie and trying to stop the trolls before they got started. Unfortunately, they won’t be stopped. Reading their posts is actually kinda funny… especially when they say exactly what you said they were going to say. I’m not sure if they watch a second of the video before they start their unintended comedic comments. Awesome review! #teamtraeger #freeviski
I've been a Qstoves+ user for quite some time, but when I switched to Asmoke, it was a game changer. The temperature control is flawless and it's incredibly convenient. You can set the desired temperature and the digital controller maintains it, no manual adjustment needed. And the fact that it is portable and battery powered opens up so many opportunities for outings. I've taken it camping and tailgating, and it never fails to impress. The distinct smoky flavor from the wood pellets is just the cherry on top. The Asmoke Essential is not just a grill, it's a complete outdoor cooking experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient and flavorful grilling option. #Asmoke
i have a pit boss XL and I seem to have some issues with it keeping an accurate temperature. I recently got a some wireless meat thermometers and the ambient temperature isn't as accurate as what the grill is set at. Did you have this issue with yours?
Great, informative review of the Traeger Ironwood XL. You're right; $2,000 is a big chunk O' change to drop on a grill, but I'm very close to making a decision.
I have had wood and charcoal smokers ! Pellet is way easier especially if you have limited space, and more even cooking which you can leave it and go do things 😊
Here in the great state of Kentucky, and peak grilling season is long gone. But I will definitely consider putting a Traeger in my backyard next year. #TEAMTRAGER #FREEVISKI
I have a Pit Boss currently but in the future I will probably upgrade to a traeger. Mine doesnt have any of bluetooth capabilities but its still the best grill ive ever cooked on. Argue pellet grill vs offset all you want but pellet grills are undoubtedly better to cook on than a propane grill. Jeremy, you make me want to spend a lot of money that I dont have! #teamtraeger #freeviski
I've always felt that pellet grills are for people that can't barbecue. This post labor day I smoked ribs for the first time ever in an offset barrel smoker I've had for like 15 years. It took 4 hours and I checked the temp about every 45min. It's THAT easy.
Using a quality pellet like Knotty Wood can get pretty close to a stick burner. Stick burners are better but not everyone wants to baby a fire all day.
Pellet cookers have come a long way and honestly, you can get very good BBQ on a 100.00 Weber Kettle if you pay attention to what you're doing. The proof that pellet cooker are getting increasingly better can be seen by watching videos of a great many TH-cam BBQ channels. Now is that to say it's exactly the same or better than an offset? No, but it's close enough 99.9% of the time. #teamtraeger #freeviski
I'd love to get my hand on this Traeger. I'm sure the lcd does well in rain situations, but I wonder if it can handle cold weather as well. #TEAMTRAEGER #FREEVISKI
#freeviski #teamtraeger #teamrecteq Pellet smokers are a step up by the way of convenience than a regular bbq, especially if you get one that you can "set it and forget it." I obviously lean a different way than traeger but nonetheless enjoy the content!
Not being a brand guy, because I truly do love the feature set that Traeger offers, but the one thing I have trouble getting behind is the finish/steel quality. Being from the northeast I’ve seen a lot of smokers degrade over time, even those that stay covered etc. That’s why for me personally I would go with Yoder. Made in the USA, and for the same price point smoker at about the same dimensions it weighs 135lbs more, which is just a testament to the thick quality steel they use. If Traeger stepped up that side of things a bit more, I’d be hard pressed to say no to one. #teamtraeger #freeviski
Ha Ha love your content mate. Although you stating having 8 grills is a problem, I had 65 at my peak and have culled that down to 20 now. I say smoke on what you want, how you want. #teamtraeger #freeviski
Hey Jeremy, love your channel! I thought what you said about the ribs cooked on your Traeger were overall preferred than those cooked on your mil-scale pretty interesting. Jeremy Yoder from Mad Scientist BBQ also did a blind taste test with brisket, one cooked on a mil-scale stick burner, the other on a pellet grill (cant remember if it was a Traeger or some other brand). But to his surprise, the overall choice for best flavor/cook/a couple other criteria was the brisket cooked on the pellet grill!!! So I just think that speaks volumes. There have been several of these comparison cooks where a pellet grill is being put up against a stick burner by an actual pit master or chef (someone who actually knows what they're doing) and the pellet grill is the favored. Very interesting stuff, at least to me its interesting. I love this stuff! Looking forward to the next video and thanks for what you're doing!
I am still using my dads ironwood 650 and had my eye on the timberline xl however you might have opened my eyes to the ironwood xl #teamtraegar #freeviski
Not much of a griller especially in New York this time of year but you have a great guide of great grills to dream about. Keep this great content coming. #TEAMTRAEGER #FREEVISKI
Maybe I will have to check out another Traeger and compare it to a Yoder. Really like the build quality of the Yoder, but this new line of Traeger is intriguing.
Couldnt agree more pellet grill convenience is super high. I think you get about 80% of smokey taste you get with a regular offset smoker #teamtraeger #freeviski
Any plans to review anything from Camp Chef? I'm particularly interested in their Woodwind Pro series of pellet smokers. In addition to pellets, they have a drawer that allows you to add wood chunks and charcoal if you want to as well. It seems like it would be a nice compromise between a regular pellet smoker and an offset. People are saying it's smokier than a pellet smoker, but still not as smokey as an offset. I'd be curious to get your opinion on them.
I just bout a 575 that was on sale and I smoke a pork shoulder for 20 hours and it was the best I've ever made. I have an offset as well but bought for the overnight/long cooks. Also what are the boots you're wearing. #teamtraeger #freeviski
Love my pellet smoker up here in Wisconsin time kills the stick burner and meater probes for the win. Keep up the great content #TEAMTRAEGER #FREEVISKI
Pitts and Spitts is more my style around this budget (made in USA and seems like better materials) when it comes to pellet grills but Traeger crushes it when it comes to features and if that app actually works reliably that separates it from just about every other brand out there. And as far as the place for pellet grills, they’re obviously super convenient during the week when you just don’t have time to watch a fire but I know a lot of people (including my wife) who enjoy that more mild smoke flavor that comes from a number of factors in the composition of pellets but also simply that pellets burn really clean.
These videos make me so jealous! I'm working my way through my plumbing apprenticeship so i can move my ass outta the ghetto and the first thing i'm buying when i own a home is a smoker #teamtraeger #freeviski
Love a good smoker video. That smoker over here in England is £2,185.00 British Pounds on sale from £2 ,299.00 and I still think that's expensive. Dude I didn't even pay that for my cooker and that gets used everyday 😂. But still a great video. #TEAMTRAEGER #FREEVISKI
Recently lost my smoker due to a military move. Very unfortunate, but I've been using my surviving grill to smoke meat. Pain in the ass but better than nothing 😂 #teamtreagar #freeviski
I Own a Large Pro Traeger, and I love it! Really have My eyes on this Ironwood XL! Will definetly have to get one at some point! Really want that Super Smoke Feature! Thanks for the Great Content! #Teamtraeger #freeviski

thats awsome, I never thought of mixing pellets like this, awsome im going to try this out!! thanks!!
I was just wondering if I could mix pellets with charcoal and wood! Thanks!
Still rocking the Ironwood 650...but very, very tempted. Better to seek forgiveness than ask permission from the wife, wouldn't you say?
#teamtraeger #freeviski
same here brother same here lol love my 650 and been through alot of cooks but I feel i need another grill to host bigger get togethers!

I'm buying my first ever Traeger Pro 34 this month always wanted a smoker so buy that first, then a flat rock, THEN I'll get my Timberline XL
I upgraded from a pit boss to a traeger earlier this year and I absolutely love it! Great video as always. #teamtraeger #freeviski
I was thing on buying the PitBoss new 820, how would you compare that the Traeger. I am still on the fence with both.

Nothing like BBQing with a glass of whiskey in your Viski. One day I’ll upgrade to a Traeger #TEAMTRAEGER #FREEVISKI
Always love seeing the girls come out in the fall season. What are you doing with the turkey this year?
Love the man shot on this channel and the live streams on the second channel are always the best part of the week!!
#TEAMTRAEGER#FREEVISKI
Came for the whiskey and cigar content, and stayed for the random other hobbies I also love! #teamtraeger #freeviski (kick rocks scammers)
I think Traeger is the best pellet brand there is. My original XL, I think its 13 years old, is still solid.#teamtraeger #freeviski
I have had wood and charcoal smokers ! Pellet is way easier especially if you have limited space, and more even cooking which you can leave it and go do things 😊
My boy is on fire 🔥 dropping the videos!!!! Time to tune in asap!!! Let’s goooooo!!!
Man makes me want this grill I miss my traeger went to a pit boss after my first traeger. But need to come back.

So, I HAD a budget to stay around a grand. Now, I think I have to rethink and double that budget. That grill looks pretty damn cool!
Loving my FlatRock. Always look forward to seeing your videos. Cheers twin brother from another mother. #teamtraeger #freeviski
Time is money and if you can make some damn good BBQ while saving time then there ya go. Winning all around.

Im still cooking on a pro series 34. Had it probably 6 years now only issue ive had is the internal temp probe went bad.
I like that it has a lot of the higher model touches for a “lower” price, good quality product 👍 #teamtraeger #freevisky
Love my ironwood. Little older but still does the job with fewer gadgets. #teamtraeger #freeviski
Love the treager and your bbq vids. I built mine out of flower pots.
#teamtraeger #freeviski
I want a Traeger, but the wife hates smoked meat. Still trying to talk her into it. Great video. #teamtraeger #freeviski
Do all the Viski Rocks glasses spin? Couldn't agree more about use what works for you! Stop hating y'all. #freeviski #teamtraeger
I really want to get a Traeger, maybe someday. Until then, I got a BlackStone flat-top and an old charbroil smoker. #teamtraeger #freeviski
What size extension cord you use for it? I’ve been running a 25ft. 16 awg with no issues but was told I should be using a minimum of 14 awg
I just bout a 575 that was on sale and I smoke a pork shoulder for 20 hours and it was the best I've ever made. I have an offset as well but bought for the overnight/long cooks. Also what are the boots you're wearing. #teamtraeger #freeviski

Never had a problem personally with a pellet grill. Don't understand all the hate #teamtraeger #freeviski
Love my Ironwood 1300. Wish it had the P.A.L. rails. My only bitch is wish I had more smoke flavor like my offset.
#teamtraeger #freeviski
great video! i am in the process of buying my first Traeger and this video helped solidify my choice. Cheers #TEAMTRAEGER #FREEVISKI

Pretty sweet grill ! Sounds like it’s worth the coin if you have it. #teamtraeger #freeviski

Some cooking content/recipes would be great content and also how to’s on managing fire etc on that nice Millscale! #teamtraeger #freeviski

love the Traeger smoker review . Thanks for sharing. #teamtraeger #freeviski
