After 9 years i found this ,what an awesome idea and refreshing... didn't expect to find it in a small city in Netherlands and in a neighborhood far from centrum! Still found one 8 minutes walking from my home 😂 really exciting ❤️

Thanks for sharing but PLEASE respect historical monuments and locations. For example, do not disturb rocks at historical places such as redoubts (reinforcement walls) of Civil War battle sites. Someone disturbed the rock redoubts in Redoubt 1 of the Battle of Nashville. As one who descends from someone who was in this battle, I would greatly appreciate respect and hands off to ensure the integrity of the historical site.

Great advice. When I cache with my son, I always teach him to clean up some litter we find on site, and to respect the area we're in. I think it's a great hobby for people to learn more about the heritage, culture and ecology of the places they're caching in, and help maintain historical sites while they're there.

@albatross Gr i don't think placing them inside graveyards is very respectful, i can't imagine the people who take care of the graveyards would like people digging around there very much, although i don't know much about geocaching yet since until last night i had no idea what it even was so i might just be spewing bullshit
I've found over 200 caches, and will be placing one soon. I have no clue how to get coordinates. Except on cachly, you can click your location dot, and it shows you the coordinates. I guess I can do that a few times and get an average. If there's a way to do it through the regular app or google maps, I haven't figured it out yet.
If you use an Android phone for geocaching, do this:
1. Open the Google Maps app .
2. Touch and hold an area of the map that isn't labeled. You'll see a red pin appear.
3. You'll see the coordinates in the search box at the top.
If you use an iPhone:
1. Make sure that Location Services is ON. Navigate to Settings -> Location Services -> ON
2. In the list of apps under Location Services, make sure Compass is ON
3. Press the Home button to exit Settings
4. Open the Compass app
Your current GPS coordinates are displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Your app is not user friendly for hiding the cache, just finding them.
In theory, would a Pulp Fiction themed Geocache fit within the guidelines? Obviously the container would have to be a brown suitcase which would have to be weatherproof, and it couldn't contain any explicit or suggestive materials regardless of reference, but to be Pulp Fiction, it'd have to have some small reference or something.
Perhaps a prop letter from Mr. Marsellus Wallace and a replica watch from Captain Koons? Gift card to one of the ~3 Jackrabbit Slim's in the world?

How do you include a log book in the small geocaches like the bolt shaped one?
In really small ones, log books are often just a few scrolls of paper.
There's a website called TechBlazer from which you can print free logsheets of several different sizes, one of which is small enough to fit in a nano-sized cache like the fake bolt one. Try it!

Those tiny "ammo boxes" (at 1:17) are far from good containers. They are cute but they are not water resistant.

The GC code is automatically assigned upon creating a draft listing.
How do you leave coordinates for the geocache? Is it the GPS coordinates? Or something else?

There is this very wide, open stretch of land next to a creek a few streets over. At the end of the creek is a chain-link fence as well as a fort made out of wooden industrial pallets built by the neighborhood over's kids. I want to hide it over there as it will be an interesting challenge and a bit of a walk across the field, but I'm worried the kids may find and mess with the geocache or that it will be too inaccessible. I also am unaware of the owners of the land, but people seem to frequent it. Help?

No, it just gives you some experience so that you can hide it in a style that you like. If you play it safe and hide it in a way that is similar to what you've seen before, you should be just fine.
I know I'm about 5 years late, but I just found out about geocashing. I downloaded the app, but there seems to be no geocashes in my state (Nagaland,India).But I also found out that you can publish your own geocash. How often do I need to check on my caches? Please help!
Cache owners automatically get emails whenever someone logs their caches. Keep an eye on those and see if anyone points out a problem with the cache. If they do, go and check the cache. Otherwise, you can check it whenever you want to. Some people just rely on find logs, others will check their caches once in a while just to be safe.

There is a selection when you go to log a cache that is "maintenance required".

Why does your app not let you submit a hidden geocache? Why would you not explain how to use the website to hide a geocache and to avoid areas that are within red circles. I almost hid a cache thinking as long as I have the coordinates that i could just create an entry when i get home but there are so many locations in red circles that i would have had to return to retrieve my cache since it's location was invalid. This experience was not what i expected and I'm far less likely to go premium if this is what i can expect from the free version.
It's always like that, the red circle is the boundaries they stated so the cache's are spread out

How do you fit a log book into the really small ones?
+ThatOneGamerGuy the nano and micros usually has a small strip of paper tightly rolled up. The nano logs are about .5 inches wide. and the micro are about 1.25 inches. The sizes may very depending how small your container is.

I have seen in my area someone cut the tops off two soda bottles and glued them together to form a small capsule about 2 inches in size, glue one cap shut and glue a strong magnet on it. This keeps the elements out and allows you to stick it to metal objects.

If it's your house, yes, if its not your property remeber to ask the owner, and tell the reviewer you asked the people who live in the property you can place it there, even if it's your house
