@@MyPlayHouse Yes, I confirm. Maybe it is because it's flagged as a "** CRITICAL **" update. I don't know. Anyway, we're not able to download updates for our servers and SANs, and HPE support confirms that we need an active support contract to get access to updates for our HPE equipment. Also, it's not only about BIOS. We don't even get access to the 10GbE NIC drivers although we have the hardware. HPE are clearly focusing on the enterprise size companies. So, we need to find another brand.
I'm sorry to say that there is nothing new under the sun regarding HPE individual firmware files. Critical updates have always been available, if you try to download a non-critical bios update (e.g P89 v2.90) you need to have a contract. However, it seems HPE has opened up for the SPP, the newest Gen10 SPP is freely available now, but the older ones aren't. So unless you know the tricks to bypass the paywall, your only option is to pray for some security issues.
I’m curious, why do you prefer the Lenovo servers? I’ve watched a few of your videos and you bring it up from time to time that you especially like the Lenovos.

Una consulta, tengo un servidor LENOVO SR650, el cual contiene 8 discos, y cada vez que creo un raid5 selecciono los 6 primeros discos dejando los otros dos para swap. Se genera por defecto 4 discos GTP y FAT. Es posible que todos mis discos mantengan el formato FAT. Gracias

HPE still locks BIOS behind paywall, for Gen8 and newer firmware for everything else is open which is stupid

Yes sorry, I was also made aware of this, by one of my patrons,, and i checked and found the same :-/ I do not know why HPE do this.

I never got far,, ran in to to many issues, and got sidetracked.
