    I stayed in standard single campus! It was super quiet, the facilities are very basic but because we shared a bathroom and a relatively small kitchen I got to know my flat mates really well so it was actually a really nice experience. The only real cons are the distance from central campus, as it is towards the back, and the two flights of stairs in some flats- I was on the second floor!!

      Hey, thank you for commenting! 😊 i didn’t feel qualified to speak much about this as I didn’t know. I by no means meant to paint it in a negative light just wanted to give people an idea about what they could ask people like you who have stayed there so thank you for the info! xx

      Hi Lottie! I have the standard campus as one of my top choices this year, will like to ask if you could share pictures or videos of the room if you have and don’t mind. There’s not a lot of info about this accommodation.

    A bit late here but do you know approximately how far Barton and Hickling are from the center of campus or the psychology building preferably. I know it looks super far but walking distance, not sure how long it’d take?

    • @BethEliseRose
      @BethEliseRose  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey, I agree it looks super far away! I’m quite a fast Walker and it used to take me around 10 minutes to get from Barton to the centre so I guess it all depends on how fast you walk! I’d say 10-15 minutes though max 😊

  • @annabelholland

    At first, I never thought universities would have accommodation. I was asking3 'why study far from home when you can do it close to home?' If i did want to study and live at UEA, i would have picked Hickling and Barton. I never planned on studying any further than college although getting into uni is hard anyways. Also have you moved accommodation in the 2nd year of uni?

    • @BethEliseRose

    Hii , is it true that all the kitchens in constable terrace are on the the ground floor.. it won’t make sense because I’m in the top floor so I’ll have to walk to walk all the way downstairs to get food..?😢 I thought the was a kitchen on each floor

    • @BethEliseRose
      @BethEliseRose  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, constable is one of the only types of accommodation where the kitchen is on the bottom floor. If there is a medical reason for why you are unable to take the stairs then be sure to let the accommodation office know and they will be able to accommodate you :)

    Hi Beth, great video ! Do you know if En suit campus plus is usually noisy ? Thx

    • @BethEliseRose
      @BethEliseRose  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for commenting. I didn’t stay in en suite campus plus so I can’t talk from personal experience but I know that you can choose a quiet flat when you choose your accommodation and there’s always the option to swap flats if you don’t get on where you are placed. If you go onto the Uea website there’s always the option to ask a student on there. I’m sure they’d be able to match you up with somebody who’s stayed in en suite campus plus. Hope that helps! 😊

      Hi there, all I know about the ground floor is that the kitchens are at the front of Nelson Court and then the bedrooms are at the back :)

  • @kellylouu

    You mentioned nightlife being a little quieter in hickling and barton - would you still recommend it for someone who likes to go out?? :))

    • @BethEliseRose
      @BethEliseRose  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Ok so, overall Hickling/Barton is known for being a quieter accommodation but there were people in my flat who still went out at least once a week and there were other flats in went to in H & B who hosted pre drinks and or who I know went out a lot more often. As you get to know other people then you’re probably less likely to be going out with people from your accommodation anyway so if you have your heart set on H&B then I wouldn’t let this put you off too much x

    Hi, do I get permanent free parking if I'm living at uni accommodation?

    • @BethEliseRose
      @BethEliseRose  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, I’m afraid not. There isn’t any parking available to students unless you have a disability that means you need a car with you. The only options you would have are to park your car in the main car park which would cost you an absolute fortune or to maybe rent a garage or parking space near to the uni if you can find one. If like the majority of students you rent a house for your second and third years then there is a much greater chance you can bring your car then :) Everything on campus is easily within walking distance of the accommodation buildings and the public transport into the city is really good so you shouldn’t miss your car too much 👍🏻 hope that helps!

    • @BethEliseRose

      Hi there, Chrome Court is one of the most expensive but newest accommodations so if you’re after something that looks nice and modern then it would be a good choice 😊

    do you know anything about the pablo fanque house. i want to be social but i love the look of the housing. would you reccomend?

    • @BethEliseRose
      @BethEliseRose  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for commenting! I’ll be honest, as Pablo Fanque isn’t on campus, I don’t really know too much about it. I agree that it looks like a really nice option but when I was personally choosing accommodation, I decided that it would be much more convenient to be on campus. I’d say definitely find out roughly how many contact hours you’re going to have on campus, if it’s going to be a lot then consider how long it will take you to get from Pablo Fanque to campus everyday and decide from there 😊 I think that a lot of NUA students also stay in Pablo so you may have the chance to meet some new and different people if you stay there! Accommodation is such a personal choice but if you decide where your priorities are then this should make your decision for you 😊 feel free to reach out to me on social media if you’d like any more info

    Thank you so much 😊

    • @BethEliseRose
      @BethEliseRose  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks for your comment. The same applies for postgrads as I’ve said in the video - I’d advise that you first decide whether you want to be on campus or living in the city. Next decide how important having an en-suite is to you. UEA also have an accommodation finder tool on their website now to help you with this 😊

      Hi there, yes constable terrace resembles a town house so all of the kitchens are on the ground floor. Rather than your flat all being on one floor, your rooms will be on top of one another
