  • There is more to the Fuel system than you might know! There is a LPFP and a HPFP (low pressure fuel pump and a high pressure fuel pump), both of them has their own amount of pressures they need to run and also their own Duty Cycles! I will be explaining and giving a small briefing about these pumps so you can understand what they should do and if they are working to their specified values!

NIce video bro... actually i was trying to find out whether my HPFP or LPFP is faulty, because everytime i try to accelerates quickly , my Audi A5 will enter limp mode, ESP & EPC lights on, and parking brake malfunction warning appear... i suspect it has something to do with fuel delivery system...

Have you tried using a diagnostic tool? To see what error pops up?
It can even be a missfire, over or under boost. There can be so many things that can cause it.

Just got vcds and laptop today. Hoping to diagnose limp mode/ fueling issue, car is 4.2l v8 s5 with aftermarket supercharger kit, upgraded hpfps and boost a pump for lpfp so not quite sure where to start. Injectors are all replaced

I would like to know why is it that you say your car goes into limp mode because of the Fueling? Did you try to use the VCDS to see the DTC's maybe?

The only codes came back with snap on scammer was consistent p0087 rail pressure to low and intermittent small evap system leak. I still have not gotten to the bottom of this. It is very confusing which measuring blocks exactly will be helpful/related to my fuel issue in particular.

Hello I have exactly the same engine as you I follow all your videos, I have a little problem when starting a smell of gasoline appears, but only when starting, I was told that it was normal, while the revs stabilizes ?

Hallo hallo, thank you for dropping a comment 🙌
And glad to see there is someone else out there that alsp has the same engine 🤣👌
Ok do you smell it in the car or when your outside?
Also is your car under a carport or in a garage? Ooooooor outside in the open.
In general it is fine. The ECU fuels a bit more than usual to try and get the Catalytic to heat up.
If you smell fuel even when just driving around and all that then it is bad

The problem with the Maf is, it isn't really for performance, and more for smoothness, to get down to the finest reading of oxygen entering your engine... Maybe, just maybe in the long run it might add 1hp 🤣 but let me have a look to see what i can come up with :)

Hey man I’m going to start watching your videos. Any tips on code p2293 (n276 mechanical malfunction) on a tsi engine. I’ve read the forums over and over and ppl suggest a follower upgrade… tsi has roller, or to change hpfp, lpfp and control module. I changed the hpfp about 2yrs ago already

    • @megalodononwheels
      @megalodononwheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi, it seems like a fuel related problem, it can be a bunch of things! It can be a that your follower is worn out. I saw with the first gen 1.8 & 2.0 engines the follower needs to be inspected at every service interval which means that if you have driven over 15k... Just inspect it again. It can also be a leaking injector, an injector that doesn't open, bad fuel rail, maybe a dirty filter for the fuel, for example the LPFP filter inside the tank.
Definitely try out this video you commented on and have a look, it will tell you the condition of your HPFP and your LPFP... Also try out this video
      th-cam.com/video/8xYJnKtxPw4/w-d-xo.html
It is to see your fuel rail, if it can hold the fuel pressure when the car is heat soaking the fuel.
      Hopefully i helped a bit :)

@@megalodononwheels thanks for the response I think it’s definitely fuel related as well! I unplugged the sensor on top of the hpfp and idle is a lot smoother. I’m still releasing gas. I will try removing the plug and coil to see if my fourth cylinder has an open injector. I will also try this video… also figured out my lpfp was replaced 20k miles ago with the control module

Do a lamda test maybe, i also did a video on that, see if your maybe not running to rich... 🤷🏼‍♂️ Also i would like to understand why you say you will only remove the spark plug of cyl number 4? Why not the rest? Maybe you know something I don't 🤷🏼‍♂️👌

@@megalodononwheels thanks for all of your insight!! I’ve been busy with work and other things but once I get a chance I’ll look through your videos and literature. Also subbed!
I removed coil and plug 4 because that cylinder was misfiring. I compared to cylinder 2 which doesn’t seem to have an open injector and plug was dry. I could see fuel flooding cylinder four and am potentially convinced I have an open injector.

Ohhhhhh ok that makes sence! Also from the valve cover also known as the tapped cover, it has a round seal going around the spark plug hole, when it is worn out or not in correctly, it might leak oil into the spark area... Just keep it in mind :) but atleast you know that there is a problem there :)
