I didn't realize the f40s were released this late. My stepdad always wanted to drive a late '80s or early '80s f40. He passed away. Unfortunately my dream is to drive an f-40 in an f-50 on a raceway at least one lap. I don't care how fast I go even if it's just turtle mode. I just want to have the feeling and hopefully if there is the spirit world he can feel from my feelings
That change was almost perfect. On those boxes you’re never getting a fast shift without a crunch. It’s the way it works unfortunately however those crunches aren’t as bad as they sound. Although F40’s eat through gearboxes but that’s a different story 😂

My wife (girlfriend at the time) and I were on the highway on the way to cars and coffee that I had somehow convinced her to come to. All of a sudden, that same roar came behind and I saw a red f40 flying down the left lane. When it passed, it looked like it was floating. Many minutes later I got to the event, and that car was sitting, swarmed by people, in a parking spot that was long since buried by other cars. One of the highlights of my life for sure.

Not a shot at the owner or this specific f40, just driving a car the way its meant to be driven will break it if it isn't a Toyota or honda. and if you pay the ferrari mark up for a price you could get 10x less else where that's kinda dumb.

Ahhhhh yes! The classic Ferrari cold second gear. Most Ferraris from the 355 and older, those cold manuals didn’t like second for a Little bit, we usually go 1-3 at the shop. until we have been driving for 20 min then 2nd becomes part of the team again 😂
I think the grinding is because the F40 has straight-cut gears and maybe even no synchros requiring the driver to have to double clutch in order to get a smooth shift every time. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not a ferrari fan and didn't bother to google while writing this. Great video, it's awesome to see an old classic (especially one of that value) live the way it was built to.
