I have been feeling a change in Hollywood films right after 9/11 - before that, films were made by Joseph Campbells heroes journey which practically gives you great meaningful stories that almost function like therapy in the sense that the main character usually changes for the better after overcoming inner weaknesses. This is the basis of all good storytelling. But then suddenly all this marvel-superhero-shit comes up big time. I noticed, being an avid movie-goer, watching trailers, that in every trailer their was one and the same line appearing: "We have to fight this war!" - Check it out. Watch movie trailers from blockbuster films from the last 15 years. This line is in every goddam trailer. What are these films preparing us for....? Characters no longer changed. They were either good or evil. So this is kindergarten-storytelling, which ultimately creates kindergarten-audiences.
Try watching a kids film - just watched a 1950's Disney movie and then in late 80s, to another world, in which good no longer fought evil - it gave in & accepted the dominance of evil.
FOIA PUBLISHED US GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS PROVE: The Military & CIA act as official censors of all USA media and pay for TV series and movies to sell more war! FOIA Docs Show CIA Pentagon Made 1800 Movies TV Shows last year in order to Make Americans Love War. Additionally, the Published Government Documents prove that movie scripts must be approved by the DOD, Pentagon, CIA and/or NSA! Far worse are the programs and information the CIA makes certain we do NOT SEE! Your tax dollars at work! Newly-obtained documents show the Pentagon and CIA have enormous influence over Hollywood - its pro-war propaganda must be accepted or the government packs its assistance and goes home. From Meet the Parents and America’s Got Talent, to Cupcake Wars and Zero Dark Thirty - even Iron Man, Oprah, Patriot Games, and the James Bond thriller, Tomorrow Never Dies - if the production pertains to the War Machine or Surveillance State, it’s a veritable guarantee government significantly influenced the final product. Censorship apparently reigns more supremely over Hollywood than we’d ever surmised - nearly 1,800 movies and TV shows have borne the fierce scrutiny of the eagle-eyed Pentagon and CIA. As in Nazi Germany, USA films and television series must be rubber-stamped by the government - no seal of approval, no production. Secker and Alford - who obtained more than 4,000 documents pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act request, which admittedly are not included in the report - write: “If there are characters, action or dialogue that the DOD don’t approve of then the film-maker has to make changes to accommodate the military’s demands. If they refuse then the Pentagon packs up its toys and goes home. To obtain full cooperation the producers have to sign contracts - Production Assistance Agreements - which lock them into using a military-approved version of the script. “When Bond is about to HALO jump out of a military transport plane they realise he’s going to land in Vietnamese waters. In the original script Bond’s CIA sidekick jokes ‘You know what will happen. It will be war, and maybe this time we’ll win.’ “This line was removed at the request of the DOD. “Strangely, Phil Strub denied that there was any support for Tomorrow Never Dies, while the pre-eminent scholar in the field Lawrence Suid only lists the DOD connection under ‘Unacknowledged Cooperation’. “But the DOD are credited at the end of the film and we obtained a copy of the Production Assistance Agreement between the producers and the Pentagon.” So meticulous the world’s most gargantuan military, even the ostensively fictitious name of an operation to capture the Hulk in the eponymous 2003 movie had to be switched to “Angry Man” from “Ranch Hand” - because the latter “is the name of a real military operation that saw the US Air Force dump millions of gallons of pesticides and other poisons onto the Vietnamese countryside, rendering millions of acres of farmland poisoned and infertile. Past transgressions - no matter how publicly excoriated at the time - are not acceptable material for the Pentagon make. References to the Iran-Contra scandal ultimately sounded the death knell for a movie called Countermeasures, because, according to Strub in the documents, “There’s no need for us to… remind the public of the Iran-Contra affair.” “This idea of using cinema to pin the blame for problems on isolated rogue agents or bad apples, thus avoiding any notion of systemic, institutional or criminal responsibility, is right out of the CIA/DOD’s playbook,” Secker and Alford note. Notably, it isn’t as if the military and CIA act in an official capacity as ‘censors’ - producers would be free to nullify their cooperative arrangements and receive no assistance - but that so many eagerly adopt government structures and edits to see production completed indicates a power unfettered in Hollywood. Glorification of war must be achieved with constant bombardment in advertising and the news to keep recruitment viable and service an appealing option - lest the Pentagon be unable to cull order-followers from freer thinkers among us. www.theguardian.com/film/2008/nov/14/thriller-ridley-scott

Really interesting. FYI: Somewhere I read that L. Ron Hubbard's info was stolen by the CIA; Scientology was broken into 2 entities & CIA moved all of Hubbard's papers into one of the entities & controlled it & took it over. Your video brings up so much for me, & I'm sure for others. My dad knew Kurt Vonnegut from GE in Schenectady. Vonnegut was GE's PR guy. So many of these "arty" writers have less than arty histories. The CIA have their hands in everything. When I worked at the CSUN rebuild after the Northridge earthquake there were 2 guys there that just looked CIA; one was short, mustache, buff, one was overtly non descript-taller, glasses, bland as hell. They somehow got an office in the construction trailer with a one way window doing God knows what. I was reading Terry Reed's book "Compromised" about the Clinton/Bush cocaine op at the time. No one in the office had a clue about this book sitting on my desk except these guys who looked at it, smirked, & seemed to know all about it when they walked by. Why were they there? Disaster projects are great places to launder money is the only purpose I can think of.
Kennedy had enough of scientology, had FBI raid headquarters and confiscate all of their E meters. Knowing it was a Cia front , Hubbard was former OSS , pre cursor to CIA Yatzee !
Ron Hubbard is a known liar & plagiarist. Eg. "Dianetics' is not his original invention. 'Dianetics' is a CONCEPT . The concept of the Mind & Understanding psychosomatic symptoms ***** see etymology -ancient Greek - “what the mind (or soul) is doing to the body.” ***** Psychoanalysis was already using the mind body connection decades earlier, for example, in the 20th C by FREUD (see Freud's lectures in 1909 - hysterical states (being from residue of emotional experiences/ past trauma) can bring upon a whole level of physical diseases ****** Not to mention ARISTOTLE, THOMAS AQUINAS et al. centuries ago!!!! Also, Scientology comes from Occult Magick which is CENTURIES OLD (eg. it is well known that Hubbard stole form Crowley & of course Crowley stole wholesale from the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn Order around since Ancient Egypt times ****************so neither Scientology or the CIA are the original inventors
Eric & Mark- have you done a show about Robert Mosses... I would bet Mark has a ton of information he could share... I really enjoy the content the shows are fantastic. Happy New Year!
Thanks Scott: It's a funny thing about Moses. My friend Oliver Stone had a project with HBO based on the Robert Caro bio and HBO simply could not pull the trigger. I don't think Oliver ever got over it. He got into a huge argument the second we sat down with head of HBO for our Oswald project about his failed Robert Moses project.
On my first almost smart phone I had a book from the Gutenberg Project that was removed after maybe two or three months of it being there-Fahrenheit 451.
I was an art student, and I didn't understand why anyone, including my art instructors all thought that "abstract art" was great. I thought that abstract art was crap, and now I understand, thanks to this gentleman Mr. Groubert, that I was absolutely correct in my belief that so-called "abstract art" was pure crap. And now I understand that Assange was a true journalistic hero, who is being silenced by him being locked up in prison in England without any charges against him.

59:25 - "Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you." The multiple wire-taps on Mark's phone line beg the question, when does it stop being paranoia, and start being a legitimate concern?
You guys have become one of my tiny handful of favorite youtubers. I have wondered at times how some of these actors appear out of nowhere as movie stars. I'm thinking this stuff has something to do with it. by the way, it was Will Smith who did Ali and not Jamie Fox. I sometimes wonder how many of the big name, well loved celebrities, authors and so on are that because of their strange alliances. I kind of thought the Bourne movies portrayed the CIA in an awful light - lawless assassins. Am I wrong about that? With respect to another question posted on another of your videos - There must me some patriotic (in the best sense) Americans in the CIA and other 3 letter agencies who push back against the worst stuff they do, right? Or at least recognize it. Some of these people are on the side of regular American's vs. the state, right?
DC - I would pray and believe that it is only the top brass who are woke and good americans will go rogue in these agencies. As for ambition and being offered stardom - well you can hit a hundred with a bowling ball in Hollywood. I assume they have something on the guys they pick. Look at Operation Mockingbird.
@ Douglas Carkuff - you are now entering the Twilight Zone - welcome to James Angleton's 'wilderness of mirrors' - former CIA Director Wm Casey “We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.” - Mae Brussell's radio program is probably where most folks heard the quote - naturally she was vilified as a conspiracy nut job for not endorsing the Warren Commission findings long before she aired this quote which just added to her 'el loco' label, until Barbara Honegger came forward and set the record straight - "I am the source for this quote, which was indeed said by CIA Director William Casey at an early February 1981 meeting of the newly elected President Reagan with his new cabinet secretaries to report to him on what they had learned about their agencies in the first couple of weeks of the administration. The meeting was in the Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House, not far from the Cabinet Room. I was present at the meeting as Assistant to the chief domestic policy adviser to the President. Casey first told Reagan that he had been astonished to discover that over 80 percent of the ‘intelligence’ that the analysis side of the CIA produced was based on open public sources like newspapers and magazines. As he did to all the other secretaries of their departments and agencies, Reagan asked what he saw as his goal as director for the CIA, to which he replied with this quote, which I recorded in my notes of the meeting as he said it. Shortly thereafter I told Senior White House correspondent Sarah McClendon, who was a close friend and colleague, who in turn made it public.” i grew up on Sherlock Holmes, spy novels and John Wayne but it was a Russian interpreter in '92 who gave a group of us a piece of advice that has never left - we had been kibitzing and giving him a hard time about Russian superiority and tech savvy when he finally had enough and said 'the biggest difference i see between us is that you tend to believe your propaganda whereas we tend to disbelieve ours' remember that little sign on Truman's desk 'the buck stops here' - well, the CIA was created July 26, 1947 when he signed the National Security Act into law - it morphed into an organism of an entirely unintended sort - the tyranny of good intentions - not long after, that the sign just faded away - the backside read 'I'm from Missouri' - guess someone did that it didn't and you know you are reading a lousy spy novel when the dead man's switch pops up - just ask Maxwell's dad Robert or her 'boyfriend' Epstein or McAfee and (likely) former CIA Dir Wm Colby (among many) how that worked out - none were of sufficient pay grade obviously good guys exist, else we would be fully ensconced in the New World Order alluded to by G H W Bush's 1,000 points of light speech and unable to have this 'conversation' apologies for running on, but it was just a few weeks ago on another blogsite re the FBI-Gov Whitmer entrapment fiasco and one individual found it difficult to accept and i posted the following - ps please watch Major Racey Jordan's video if you haven't already - follow the bankster's, foundations, all 'societies', philanthropies, fabians, freemasons, commissions, CFR, Trilaterals, the U.N., NATO and... as Cleese might say - we're on the brink, but not in the Gulag yet - else Fakebook, Twitter, UberToob, the mockingbird presstitutes and others wouldn't need to censor or ban us - well, at least we had Efrem Zimbalist Jr - Lewis Erskine - however, once one starts reading about intelligence agencies circa ww2, it doesn't take long to recognize that shining knight and his chariot is naught but a tin man and colossal pumpkin - imo, the nexus / middle 'starts' with British Intel setting up shop in New York, May 1940 - Canadian industrialist and socialite William Stephenson - Intrepid / Little Bill and later Sir - is Churchill's personal emissary to FDR through, though not always, Wm J Donovan - Big Bill - head of Office of Strategic Services - the OSS often referred to as the Oh So Sophisticated - obviously one J Edgar Hoover was less than amused - couple that with the Office of Naval Intel's (ONI) contacting Meyer Lansky to strike a deal with Lucky Luciano whose associate Albert Anastasia controlled the docks - Luciano is released from prison in 1942 - thus, if the ONI and Navy knew the mafia controlled the docks, it is impossible for Hoover to claim it didn't exist until the 1957 Apalachin fiasco slapped him in the face - oddly enough, imo, Hoover might have been able to crack the Cambridge Five communist spy ring - with Philby supposedly at the helm - a decade or so prior to 1963 - if given half a chance - so while Hoover may have been a closet homosexual, FDR was even less a closet communist - Patton had to go ?? - from Major Racey Jordan's diaries - th-cam.com/video/t6nF_mhbMAg/w-d-xo.html - - pdf - citizensnewswire.org/files/mjd.pdf - - - from wikipedia - at least a starting point re the BSC - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Security_Co-ordination

But Ford VOLUNTEERED in WWII though he was 13 years older! Wayne had a nickname for him: Coach. But Ford mocked Wayne some in his correspondence from the front. The gist of it being that the Coach nevertheless joined up to fight the enemy!
That's a good question - his death was one of those 'bizarre accidents' that can appear suspicious. That said, the type of car involved (2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee) was the subject of a recall for the exact issue that led to his death, and that recall had only just been announced at the time. In this case, in the absence of conflicting information, I'd say it was just a tragic accident.
It was. And kept so quiet with the picture opening right then? It actually happened to a man I knew- a Keyboard player who left his car in park, got out to close garage door and it dislodged gear and rolled forward, crushing him. Incredible. automatics can do that.

Secker and Alford - who obtained more than 4,000 documents pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act request, which admittedly are not included in the report - write:
“If there are characters, action or dialogue that the DOD don’t approve of then the film-maker has to make changes to accommodate the military’s demands.
It will be war, and maybe this time we’ll win.’
“This line was removed at the request of the DOD.
“Strangely, Phil Strub denied that there was any support for Tomorrow Never Dies, while the pre-eminent scholar in the field Lawrence Suid only lists the DOD connection under ‘Unacknowledged Cooperation’.
“But the DOD are credited at the end of the film and we obtained a copy of the Production Assistance Agreement between the producers and the Pentagon.”
So meticulous the world’s most gargantuan military, even the ostensively fictitious name of an operation to capture the Hulk in the eponymous 2003 movie had to be switched to “Angry Man” from “Ranch Hand” - because the latter “is the name of a real military operation that saw the US Air Force dump millions of gallons of pesticides and other poisons onto the Vietnamese countryside, rendering millions of acres of farmland poisoned and infertile.
Past transgressions - no matter how publicly excoriated at the time - are not acceptable material for the Pentagon make. References to the Iran-Contra scandal ultimately sounded the death knell for a movie called Countermeasures, because, according to Strub in the documents,
“There’s no need for us to… remind the public of the Iran-Contra affair.”
“This idea of using cinema to pin the blame for problems on isolated rogue agents or bad apples, thus avoiding any notion of systemic, institutional or criminal responsibility, is right out of the CIA/DOD’s playbook,” Secker and Alford note.

Wow, you two really deliver!
Contagion basically was an image film for the WHO. One could see this right away watching that silly film. And I wondered then: When will the big pandemic hit......
Come on Mark the CIA didn’t stop making movies because it was too expensive. 500 K ? Pfft . that was a small drug deals profit for them in the 80s

My understanding is that General Flynn was going to an audit on intelligence agencies and that's why they went after him, set him up and ruined his life.
Sorry, all of Trump's toadies were completely incompetent. Not the smartest people in the room. Anyone who believes the Trump admin had any ability or want to combat "the deep state" is extraordinarily naive. We should be calling them the MIC anyhow.

Fascinating story, those parking structure along Zelzah got worked, and had just been built.
WoW ! Thanks for sharing.
and k vonnegut had a brother who was a bigwig television network executive
I bet Mark could write a library of books of all his knowledge and experiences.
Just trying to finish this damn Rams game today LOL. mg

This is easily the best channel out there!!!!

59:25 - "Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you."
The multiple wire-taps on Mark's phone line beg the question, when does it stop being paranoia, and start being a legitimate concern?
Shortly thereafter I told Senior White House correspondent Sarah McClendon, who was a close friend and colleague, who in turn made it public.”
i grew up on Sherlock Holmes, spy novels and John Wayne but it was a Russian interpreter in '92 who gave a group of us a piece of advice that has never left - we had been kibitzing and giving him a hard time about Russian superiority and tech savvy when he finally had enough and said 'the biggest difference i see between us is that you tend to believe your propaganda whereas we tend to disbelieve ours'
remember that little sign on Truman's desk 'the buck stops here' - well, the CIA was created July 26, 1947 when he signed the National Security Act into law - it morphed into an organism of an entirely unintended sort - the tyranny of good intentions - not long after, that the sign just faded away - the backside read 'I'm from Missouri' - guess someone did that it didn't
and you know you are reading a lousy spy novel when the dead man's switch pops up - just ask Maxwell's dad Robert or her 'boyfriend' Epstein or McAfee and (likely) former CIA Dir Wm Colby (among many) how that worked out - none were of sufficient pay grade
obviously good guys exist, else we would be fully ensconced in the New World Order alluded to by G H W Bush's 1,000 points of light speech and unable to have this 'conversation'
apologies for running on, but it was just a few weeks ago on another blogsite re the FBI-Gov Whitmer entrapment fiasco and one individual found it difficult to accept and i posted the following - ps please watch Major Racey Jordan's video if you haven't already - follow the bankster's, foundations, all 'societies', philanthropies, fabians, freemasons, commissions, CFR, Trilaterals, the U.N., NATO and...
as Cleese might say - we're on the brink, but not in the Gulag yet - else Fakebook, Twitter, UberToob, the mockingbird presstitutes and others wouldn't need to censor or ban us
- well, at least we had Efrem Zimbalist Jr - Lewis Erskine - however, once one starts reading about intelligence agencies circa ww2, it doesn't take long to recognize that shining knight and his chariot is naught but a tin man and colossal pumpkin - imo, the nexus / middle 'starts' with British Intel setting up shop in New York, May 1940 - Canadian industrialist and socialite William Stephenson - Intrepid / Little Bill and later Sir - is Churchill's personal emissary to FDR through, though not always, Wm J Donovan - Big Bill - head of Office of Strategic Services - the OSS often referred to as the Oh So Sophisticated - obviously one J Edgar Hoover was less than amused - couple that with the Office of Naval Intel's (ONI) contacting Meyer Lansky to strike a deal with Lucky Luciano whose associate Albert Anastasia controlled the docks - Luciano is released from prison in 1942 - thus, if the ONI and Navy knew the mafia controlled the docks, it is impossible for Hoover to claim it didn't exist until the 1957 Apalachin fiasco slapped him in the face - oddly enough, imo, Hoover might have been able to crack the Cambridge Five communist spy ring - with Philby supposedly at the helm - a decade or so prior to 1963 - if given half a chance - so while Hoover may have been a closet homosexual, FDR was even less a closet communist - Patton had to go ?? - from Major Racey Jordan's diaries - th-cam.com/video/t6nF_mhbMAg/w-d-xo.html - - pdf - citizensnewswire.org/files/mjd.pdf - - - from wikipedia - at least a starting point re the BSC - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Security_Co-ordination

Looking forward to more on the CIA, but Mark Groubert, do you know anything about Anton Yelchin? His death just has always bothered me.
NOT JUST the CIA.

I was friends with a guy who knew a lot about these topics He wrote a little book about a particularly ugly episode. It was a salacious topic and he failed to exploit it effectively and, so, the book and his career have remained obscure.
