My agency (in FL) has hard plastic seats, although they do have molding specifically to accommodate being handcuffed. Our older cars (mostly Impalas) had straight plastic seats. The vinyl seats are actually cheaper, as that's what comes from the factory - plastic seats are an additional cost.
Public safety vehicles installs is one of the things the company I retired from did in southern Illinois. Back then, most police cars we did had the hard plastic back seats installed. I was the purchasing agent.

Left lane laws don’t stop people from hanging out there. We’ve had the law in my state for several years, but people still hang out there. On the other hand, we’re only seeing a short snapshot of the traffic during a (generally) high-speed pursuit & many drivers aren’t constantly watching their rear view mirrors for a police vehicle coming up behind them at a high rate of speed.

There’s also several exceptions to the law, like city/urban areas where traffic flow patterns were designed around all lanes being used.
Doesn't really help, in states with it, it is rarely enforced. Probably, as so many are doing it that the roads would be jammed due to all the cars pulled over. There are many places I have seen that it's normal now for the right lane (or 2nd to right on bigger roads) is the fastest moving!

Allegedly, Stillantus received revised oil coolers and has been retro-fitting them on ALL 2023 Durango's with V-8 power. I never personally liked oil to water oil coolers, instead of just installing a air to oil cooler. If my local dealership ever gets their head from their butt and gets serious on pricing, I'll own a 392 Durango. But I'm not paying $115k for a vehicle.

I almost got tangled up in this chase. Northbound on SR9 headed to Tennessee, I had intended to cross over onto the turnpike at the Okeechobee exit. I spotted blue lights in the distance across the highway and also noted a white vehicle in the median. I originally thought the trooper was coming to assist a vehicle stuck in the median. However, when the trooper closed in, his vehicle slammed into the other one, which had just started to pull out, headed in front of me. The impact spun the suspect vehicle slightly as I accelerated, trying to get past the scene as quickly as possible while observing the second trooper closing in. Yes, I can see my truck passing in this video. The suspect crossed the northbound lanes and took the exit I had intended to. I was glad to have skipped it and went on to SR60 and took that to Yeehaw Junction (I enjoy that drive, too, so I didn't mind.)

That car is covering 10,560 feet (2 miles per minute) at 120 MPH. your reaction time to that is seconds, if you are actually doing the speed limit, which I can guarantee, you are doing at least 20 over the limit on the interstate. I almost got tangled up in this chase. Northbound on SR9 headed to Tennessee, I had intended to cross over onto the turnpike at the Okeechobee exit. I spotted blue lights in the distance across the highway and also noted a white vehicle in the median. I originally thought the trooper was coming to assist a vehicle stuck in the median.
However, when the trooper closed in, his vehicle slammed into the other one, which had just started to pull out, headed in front of me. The impact spun the suspect vehicle slightly as I accelerated, trying to get past the scene as quickly as possible while observing the second trooper closing in. Yes, I can see my truck passing in this video.
The suspect crossed the northbound lanes and took the exit I had intended to. I was glad to have skipped it and went on to SR60 and took that to Yeehaw Junction (I enjoy that drive, too, so I didn't mind.)
Driver got a couple of words of wisdom from his friend !
Also BMW, Audi, and Merc's all have active suspension. The ability to push them into a TDI is much harder as the car will correct a slide on its own.
