Hi, I just wanted to say I love the content. I have a question that's probably been answered before but I'm new and in the 20-30 vids I've gone through and watched I haven't seen an answer. How do you insure all these cars and get them registered when they're just flip cars? Do you go through all the title stuff with the DMV or is there some other process? Thanks!
i think you need a harbor freight high frequency charger to properly recover shot batteries which is ever damn car from copart... www.harborfreight.com/2815-amp-automatic-microprocessor-controlled-battery-charger-63299.html and a lithium pack for convenience www.harborfreight.com/lithium-ion-jump-starter-and-power-pack-62749.html obviously wait for coupons or just go to www.hfqpdb.com/ and get the app if inclined. i think there is only an android app... i got these myself and I have two jump packs, one for each car and I have a 300c with the good ol' 5.7 hemi and a 2500 hd megacab also hemi and starts em up like they aren't a real load... I've also started cummins and a 1929 Allis Chalmers tractor and again without a care in the world. I've had a few JNC's and they are fantastic but you could legitimately fit 12 of these in one JNC and it would still be lighter. I digress but I got the jumper packs for $60 I think and the charger for $25. the charger is unique and definitely worth the money.
The reason why the car died is cause with them cars after the battery has been un hooked or died it takes a while for the ecm to relearn the car. Just keep your foot on the throttle when stopping and eventually it will start running fine #autoauctionrebuilds
What??? Damn man, I am sorry to hear that. Please make a video about it whenever you have a chance, Sam if you wouldn't mind. I have to admit, I was very nervous when I heard that you had purchased the Lincoln because it was a lemon buy-back but I was really rooting for you that you'd have good luck with it. If there is anyone who can a frustrating gremlin hiding within a car it is you, Sam. Good luck buddy! I hope you can get it figured out.
Great buy! This is one of my favorite Mistubishis. We used to do bodywork on them for years. Those engines are very reliable and solid. I personally like this design, it is kind of classy.
Those Galants are one of the most reliable cars I've ever seen. When I met my wife, she drove one, handed down to her from her brother, who got it from her dad. Then it went back to her dad. 15 years later her cousin is now driving it. The damn thing just won't die, it was handed down 4 times and it just keeps going. Those things are way more reliable than they need to be. This coming from a Toyota technician so I know what reliable looks like.
My 2000 Galant had a driveshaft pulley crack twice after replacement ...lost power steering on the highway @ 87,000 miles. I junked it. Was a good car while it lasted
I just left Copart - Dallas day before yesterday (Tuesday). A guy that got there a few minutes before me bought a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9L (which has 2 large batteries) The batteries were totally shot. I didn't have jumper cables, just a small jumper pack. Another guy had jumper cables, and so we used his car (with cables) and my pack combined, and it was just barely turning the engine over. No start. A few minutes later security comes out with a jumper pack that cannot be carried by hand, but in the back of a van. His several hundred pound jumper pack started up the Cummins without a sweat, but with the engine running, as soon as the jumper was disconnected it died. Had to leave the engine running with the jumper attached for at least 10 min so that the battery would have some charge, otherwise both dead batteries would suck the alternator down to zero. Maybe same issue with Galant? P.S., if anyone's a praying type, pray for that guy with the Dodge please. It was his first time at Copart, bought the truck sight unseen, and was going to drive it back to Florida (from Dallas TX). I just hope he made it fine.
5.9 he'll be knocking all the way home the 5.7 is best hemi gas and sound lol he could of just got a new battery if the alternator was dieing it would last a whole day or two until you get to where you need and return battery for new one when you fix the alternator
@@CC-by6rz, It was a 5.9 Diesel Cummins, not the 5.9 gas. You are right about running off the battery for a bit, he just didn't haven't another ride at the time. He took the bus from Florida and the only vehicle he had was the Copart Ram. Eventually he did drive it away, he left before I did, don't know what happened from there.

Those era of Mistubishi are amazing, I had a Colt that was nearly 300,000 one owner from new and every thing worked...it had been serviced regularly and all the electrics were bullet proof. Incredible!!! A good Clean and change the fluids and it will be ready for more
I sold a 2001 Accord with 487,xxx miles this past spring for 1,200. It doesn't matter if the miles are high as long as it was mechanically maintained. The good tires show someone took care of it even at the high mileage.
I recommend that every car you finish cleaning ready for sale, you detail it perfectly. it is a day job, but, it helps it sell faster and at a better price. people put a lot of value psychologically in the looks of the car.
That 350's color looks great, and was looking yesterday, even if the car is a wash, if the motor is good you should be able to recoup money from an engine sale.

I really like that galant. I don’t know why. But it’s amazing how it’s lasted. I’ve never heard of a Mitsubishi lasting that long and looking that good.
Those JNC packs are great, we had a bunch of them when I worked at a shitty dealership. We had the thinner blue ones in each of our flatbed tow trucks, and 2 of the big red ones like you have, that we'd use to jump our tow trucks in the winter when the batteries would die. And they were big International cab, Jerdan bed flatbed tow trucks with wheel lifts. The best thing about that JNC brand, as my old boss used to tell me, the 2 year, lifetime warranty. That is the model Galant I was talking about. It has a decent size for a car, enough room for four passengers and it comes equip with four or six cylinders engine. That is the model which resembles the BMW in the front. A use Galant would probably cost over 1, 500 to 2,000 . Depending on the condition if the car and it depends on how much money a person has invested in the car itself.
I think these older Mitsubishi's are underrated. As long as you keep changing the timing belt and give it regular maintenance it will last a long time.
Well for starters a car with 287k would be swiss cheese from the salted roads by me in Illinois.i see your videos and I'm like god they are so rust free
Yep bet it’s stalling cause of the dead battery I’ve had it happen before. I think alternator sometimes stops charging for a second to check battery voltage or something like that and then it doesn’t have enough voltage to keep everything working. No idea how accurate my idea is but it makes sense to me as the same thing has happened to me with several cars with flat batteries
I had some older Mitsubishi cars back in the 80s. A 1989 Mirage and a 1982 Montero. BOTH were awesome, dependable cars. Even if this $430 Galant were to die and never run again, it DID go for 267 thousand plus miles. That is a good car IMHO...
As you have probably reasoned out, alternators don't charge well at idle. If a battery is completely dead, there is not enough electricity in the system to keep modern cars happy.
The battery won’t take a charge so the alternator will stop charging and the engine will shut off. If the battery is more than a couple of years old it’s not worth trying to bring it back to life. Sometimes you get lucky though.
a couple things.... i always check the timing belt on those high mile units just to be sure its not ready to break , also i thought the jumper pack was 1700 amps in 12 volt and 3400 in 24 since there in dual batteries inside the unit just an observation .
The radio's serial number is on the left side of the case that is inside the dashboard. You will have to remove the fascia that is around the radio carefully to reveal it. In most models you can use a small dental style mirror to see the code without completely removing the radio. If you can't see it this way you will have to take it all the way out. Don't disconnect anything just pull it out far enough to see the numbers. The model number starts with MNxxxxx, this is not the number you need. The serial will be an 8 digit number, no letters. It will be close to the model number however.
Hey mike.. I regularly watch ur each video n im very happy for sharing such interesting videos bcoz im also car guy .. I work for car dealer ship n exchange customer old car by doing evaluation of there old car..by the way Keep it up man ..👍👍👍👍👍
I bought a pile today well kinda I put a starter in a 2002 Chevy Silverado with almost 300,000 miles on it it starts and runs and drives and they didn't have the money to pay me for the starter and my labor so they sold it to me for $200 dollars so it's mine now it's rough but it runs and drive alright hell yeah I love a good ole GM product if you take care of them they'll run for ever.
In my area she would get listed at 1950 and wouldn’t take less then 1600. It’s a 2000+ import not wrecked with working ac. What everyone here wants that’s on a budget. And randy you really should go buy a bunch of those 19.99 dual Bluetooth multi media single din head units for theses flip cars. Adding hands free makes car safer and selling point for parents buying their kids a cheap car. And everyone loves being able to listen to their Apple Music or Spotify over Bluetooth instead of fooling with cds or fm modulators. And will save you time dealing with getting codes for those dinosaur head units They sound great for the price too I toss em in all my flip cars and even in my personal beaters :)
Alternators have a shut down mode so they don't get hot from overcharge and catch fire. Keep this in mind next time you have a long dead battery. Batteries can be recoverable from a proper wall charger that is made to recover batteries. But be careful because any battery over 4 years old can be dangerous. Sometimes they can explode and catch fire. I usually take my batteries to a auto parts store to check and charge. But now I have a special charger that does all that for me.
Stealthy Wolf if by shut down you mean break and never charge a battery again then ok I agree with you lol I’ve gone through my fair share of alternators and they have never been like oh I’m hot I won’t work until you get a battery, but they have broke, battery dies replace battery new battery dies and I need an alternator
It's called a overcharge protection circuit. Once the alternator gets too hot from overcharging a flat dead battery too long. It will cut off the charge circuit. Once it cools for a while, the circuit will reset and attempt to charge again. That's why the alternator has a little fan blade on it. You also have a overcharge protection circuit built into wall battery chargers with the jump start feature. It's made so things don't melt and catch fire. Tommy... I've been a mobile mechanic for 14 years. When you get a car started on a shot battery that won't take a charge. It will run for about 30 minutes and then stop charging.
If you don't believe me that's fine. But I have had my fair share of trying to travel in cars with a dead battery. I have had to help many people understand that the alternator has a time out period if it is overcharging. @ 2:18 I can hear the alternator overcharging. Or in easy words... Working hard... Or maybe... The idle was too low to perform enough charge. But the last car I saw with this drove for a while, quit charging, cooled down, started and quit charging again with a dead battery. I also experienced similar on RVs where wired up in 3 together one bad battery would cause a issue in the circuit. Once the battery was removed the circuit for the generator would work to start it. I also see this on tractors where a dead battery will not take a jump unless you jump it unplugged.
Man those galants always seem to just keep on kicking. I have an ES 2.4 and like that one it definitely wouldn't win a beauty pageant. But it has 246,000 and I've put new tires, oil and a crank sensor in the 5 years I've owned it. I've also hit a deer and it still drives no problem. Parts are cheap and it's easy to work on. One of the most underrated cars I've ever witnessed.
You keep saying the Galant is a "great car for $450!" but you need to be saying "It's a great car for $1200!" As for the cars, I would personally never buy a car that's 20 yrs old with that many miles. But I live on the east coast, so the road salt tends to eat them up here before they can reach that mileage point. The beard better be a good salesman to get that deal done. Good luck!
$1200. Here's a cleaning tip to get that back seat clean get a spray bottle but rubbing alcohol in it get to terry cloth spray liberally the rubbing alcohol under the seat and rub with one of the carry cloth then rub it with the other terry cloth in the seat will come out perfect
Pull the head unit out, you'll be surprised how many people write the radio code on the top or bottom of the unit. And those era Mitsubishi's run for ever, they won every reliability survey for 10+ years in the UK.
Looks really good after cleaning. Now get it down to weird beard for the easy 1000 - 1200. Get the acura to weird beard too. I cant wait for the 350z rebuild series.
Love this shape Galant. My friend had the VR4 twin turbo one and it went like stink. Great looking car and runs forever. Looks like the one in the vid has a cracked windshield. Isn't that gonna eat into profit?
I think it's likely that in OK that everything is far away from everything - a 200 mile road trip probably isn't very uncommon once a week or more - those miles add up. also, depending on when the car was bought (in '99 or in 2000) that only averages to around 15.5k miles a year - still high but not unheard of...

As you have probably reasoned out, alternators don't charge well at idle. If a battery is completely dead, there is not enough electricity in the system to keep modern cars happy.
How do the salvage titles affect you? Are you buying them and are they going to the lot? Thanks Brother!
The battery won’t take a charge so the alternator will stop charging and the engine will shut off. If the battery is more than a couple of years old it’s not worth trying to bring it back to life. Sometimes you get lucky though.
Check in the owners manual or glovebox for the radio code.
Those Acuras still look good, timeless design.
a couple things.... i always check the timing belt on those high mile units just to be sure its not ready to break , also i thought the jumper pack was 1700 amps in 12 volt and 3400 in 24 since there in dual batteries inside the unit just an observation .
+rick davidson 3400 peak at 12v 1700 peak at 24v
Didn't you say that battery was from 2018. maybe it has a warranty on it if it's bad.
My stepmother has one she bought new, and it currently has 305K on it. Never needed more than regular maintenance and a catalytic converter.
Great work bro ❤️ from uae 🇦🇪
What was the final on the Acura?
That is tomorrow's video.
:)
Invest in a tornador to clean the interiors works great and would clean that right up.
I work for car dealer ship n exchange customer old car by doing evaluation of there old car..by the way Keep it up man ..👍👍👍👍👍
Both nice looking cars! Nice job!
Thanks Randy
Easy thousand...did you test the battery to make sure it in good shape?
I bought a pile today well kinda I put a starter in a 2002 Chevy Silverado with almost 300,000 miles on it it starts and runs and drives and they didn't have the money to pay me for the starter and my labor so they sold it to me for $200 dollars so it's mine now it's rough but it runs and drive alright hell yeah I love a good ole GM product if you take care of them they'll run for ever.
Lars Manson you can make a grand or more parting that thing out here in Arkansas.
@@zachedwards5570 I've got it sold for $1500 Already here in Houston Texas
The radio code is located in the back of the radio
Somehow stumbled upon ur page today.....great that ur here in the OKC metro..... I'll be goin after a small pickup soon here in OKC, might see ya lol
Stealthy Wolf yeah that doesn’t happen lol
Stealthy Wolf yeah no
Man those galants always seem to just keep on kicking.
This is why AAA doesn't let you drive off after a jump start. Some cars just don't like to run off of the alternator.
Good luck!
Behold the power of this fully operational booster pack.
I always drive autos with two feet in urban areas. Trained myself to do that. You get a much quicker reaction time to stop rapidly
Though you were going to get it started before the light changed to green for a sec there..lol
Check the alternator it might be shot not the battery
Alternator bad?
Try distilled water for the battery, it worked great for me when I bought a car that's been sitting for two years. It'll really help the battery.
Can the jumper box start up a diesel
Yes, and a tractor, dump truck, anything. It's 12 and 24 Volts.
$1200. Here's a cleaning tip to get that back seat clean get a spray bottle but rubbing alcohol in it get to terry cloth spray liberally the rubbing alcohol under the seat and rub with one of the carry cloth then rub it with the other terry cloth in the seat will come out perfect
I bet the mud on the back seat is the cars been used for garden rubbish trips 👍🏻
I cant wait for the 350z rebuild series.
its a powerful machine . 2006 VR sports version of it was fun to drive .. and aggressive looking thing in my opinion
I love that car
Do you think you can do the Acura tomorrow
That video is uploaded and scheduled for tomorrow AM :)
Do you have a plan to put a new battery in this car?
Nah, the battery is fine now.
I love it, you got a great deal. Japan made car's bullet proof.
Hey right before it died I seen the dash lights flash really fast so I don’t know what that was about but you need to see it
The alternators in cars today are not meant to charge batteries, but to maintain them. It most likely stalled because of the battery.
That jump and carry could start ten of those cars at the same time it looks like!
Love this shape Galant. My friend had the VR4 twin turbo one and it went like stink. Great looking car and runs forever.
Looks like the one in the vid has a cracked windshield. Isn't that gonna eat into profit?
Great video 🥇 you got upload two times a day . Video are interesting
would you buy skoda octavia from 2010 with 300 thousand miles from first owner ?
Very vague. All depends on the owner, price, diesel or gas, etc.
I think it's likely that in OK that everything is far away from everything - a 200 mile road trip probably isn't very uncommon once a week or more - those miles add up. also, depending on when the car was bought (in '99 or in 2000) that only averages to around 15.5k miles a year - still high but not unheard of...
If i lived in the us i would buy one of these
