I've never posted anything like this before: My long time friend, songwriting partner and singer of Princess Ugly, J. Christopher-Rome just informed me that the great and mighty Geordie Walker of Killing Joke passed away. I am not a fan of heavy music, but I'm absolutely obsessed with and adore Killing Joke. The first thing I felt was heartbreak for Mr. Walker's family and friends. The second thing I felt was emptiness then sadness that followed the realization that there will be no more new Killing Joke music with Mr. Walker on guitar. I mourn not only for him and his loved ones, but for the world and myself. I know he will continue to live on as an inspiration to me and others. His passing has left me devastated and cold. Princess Ugly's song, For a Moment I Forgot the Desolation was my only song to date that is influenced by Geordie Walker. I try not to wear my influences on my sleeve. I will, though, wear an indelible G.W. scar on my musical soul (If there's such a thing.) for the rest of my life. RIP Geordie Walker, and thank you for the countless hours of phenomenal and beloved music.
