Many of the post-punk revival bands of the modern era are indistinguishable from the late 70s/early 80s stuff, but there are also a lot of bands that have a more varied modern style that simply overlaps with the post-punk sound. Historically, post-punk was a reaction to the death of the punk of the 70s, as well as a transition to the more fashionable new wave sound of the 80s. Post-punk revival is not the result of a natural evolution from those sounds, but will your ears know the difference? Probably not. If you are interested in reading about it, check out the book Rip It Up and Start Again.

Yes, this is mostly all made after 2015 at least, if not 2020.
If you listen in the bright light to these bands nothing changed for a nother time period the new boss is the same as the old boss sentiment

Technically it's not post-punk if it wasn't released between 1978-1984, but this is a good mix.
Not really just because it dissipated after then doesn't mean it died, new artist, new musick just different forms, new and old both rock! ❤

"post" just means "after", it doesn't imply the two are related, only that one style came after the other.
