    I have been watching Georgian dancing on " You Tube " for a long time now, and once , many years ago on stage here in New Zealand. I am still now, as I was then, when I first saw them, totally amazed at the skill level of these wonderful Men and women dancers from Georgia. to me, they are the best in the world, and I hope I might see them again one more time on stage before my time is up. There are good dancers everywhere of course in the world, but this small country has the best, and their style of dancing is unsurpassed in my view, even at at a wedding, people dance to world standard while just having fun with their friends. One would have to ask, is there anybody in Georgia who cannot dance, ? perhaps a few old people, who would still give it a go anyway, or young baby's who are probably kicking their feet in time to the music. The Georgian ladies are very pretty, and so graceful and energetic, and the men are just so powerful in their dance movements. I am now in early seventies, and love my country dearly, but I wish I could have spent time in Georgia in my youth, who knows how things might have turned out.
    My love and thanks to you wonderful people for showing us all your wonderful talents,.and the people who have posted all these lovely videos
    Brian. New Zealand.

      @Aklama01 9 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      In ballet, we use a technique called spotting, where you look at your spot, turn, and at the last second turn your head. Your head should be the last thing to turn and the first thing to arrive.

    • @adrianghandtchi1562
      @adrianghandtchi1562 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matthew Jones I’ve seen that technique before a lot of dancers use that, to prevent them from getting dizzy. I was doing a spin for my talent show a few years ago and one of them gave me a pointer on that.

      THAT FLOOR IS IN TERRIBLE SHAPE!

    • @Netavi2009
      @Netavi2009 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@jaswmclark that's because they practice on the same floor they dance with swords. In the end of this dance they throw swords at floor. Even if they fix the floor, it will be same in a matter of few days. Another important point is that the floor should be wooden to use these swords. You can check their dance with swords and you would know what I mean.

  • @adrianghandtchi1562

    I was fortunate enough to work with dancers form these legendary company years ago. Some of them later retired and came to dance with my company. Classical dancers are marvelous but for sheer stamina, virtuosity and soul, Georgians take the human body to an unbelievable level. A great culture, a great art. An interesting thing I learned - the fact that in dance, men are never allowed to touch women carries over into social life. They are hugely respectful of one another and are all the more sexier for it!

    The floor will never need sanding but filling up the cracks will help perhaps.

    That was astounding! Props to you Georgian! Is this style invented from Georgia or is it inspired from other country?

    Fun fact: Georgian dance is based on the sometimes choreographed flights of birds. The Georgian culture is very, very ancient so don't be so surprised that people had a lot of time on their hands back then to be sitting around watching birds fly. But pretty cool..
