i just bought this exact webbing. Followed your steps exactly, temp and even cut time to 30 instead of 60. Melted the webbing completely. It shrunk up and is hard as a rock now.
Are you sure that you had polyester webbing and not polypropylene webbing? Polypropylene melts at a much lower temp than the polyester webbing. Also, is your heat press accurate. Mine runs hot and I have to adjust it down. Just a thought.
Omg thank you so much. I have been searching high and low for the material to make my own. the one's that i order cannot sublimate on the entire lanyard leaving white space . so for adults you are saying add 4 inches making it 40 inches instead of 36 right?

@@leahdax you may be correct. I've never attempted to make a lanyard but if one made a template then every design on either side would be in the exact same location and after adhering the material to one side it would be a matter of matching the two pages. Just a thought.

Yes, you can do double sided or you can also do one side only. Its is a preference although you can imagine double sided is more appealing.

You would need a press that heats up both sides evenly. There are industrial machines that can do that.

It’s white polyester webbing. Similar to dog collars or leashes.
