Withers is, indeed, a curious entity.
Jergal is at another level
"Oh boy, here I go killing again!"
HAIL TO BOOOAAAAL!
Tsk! It's Ɓhaals!
We knew deep in our hearts that Booal was a false god.
All hail Mahklumpa!
ALL HAIL MAHKLUMPA!
Bhaal is one of my favorite deities, perfect quote at the opening.
Thanks!
Ah the original Murderhobo.
Just having Bhaal in your world allows for one to play with a Bhaal-Spawn storyline as part of their backstory.
Way too crazy for a player character. It’s got big main character vibes which does not work with DnD.
@@littleoldmanboy strongly disagree. The concept is cool and has plenty of directions to go other than "I'm the main character." You can even let the other players make cool characters and everyone can do epic shit.
@@littleoldmanboy The character I'm playing now is the child of a bhaal spawn and inherited his mother's traits. Due to a duel with his master he doesn't remember his past but his homicidal urges still come out during fights (or just walking around occasionally). I think that's probably the best way to do it in a party of normal mercenaries so you aren't overshadowing everyone else.
And opens them up to be called Bhaal sacks 😂
Bhaal, i need to borrow your cooking knife (Its not for any nefarious deeds, i swear)
He wouldn't mind 😂
As a busy guy finally getting to play BG3 and was curious about bhaal by playing the dark urge. You were super informative. More than most you explained bhaals motivations on a day to day basis (…the occasional contract and trying to expand his portfolio part…) cause that was what I was really confused about playing the game. Since you were so helpful I think you earned a subscriber!!!
That line is cool, but shows the arrogance of Bhaal. As if time wasn't enough to fill Myrkul's ranks, and even Bane's for that matter.
Would love to see you tackle the red knight, there's not a lot of art to be found of her
I shall add her onto my list :)
ah yes, the god of murderhobos everywhere!
Wow this is really good dude
Surprisingly good in fact
I wonder why you don't have more views
Algorithms man xP thank you tho and I’m always trying to get more
Probably one gods easiest to please, but probably I imagine also one gods that care the least about his followers. Since finding some who are willing to kill is probably in abundance, so is likely on same coin easy for him to replenish lost cultist or worshippers I imagine.
Ligma Bhaals
Who the fuck Bane Jobs?!
Just watched this after playing the Durge play-through in BG3… I decided to do a deep dive into the dnd lore because I don’t know much about it, and your videos are awesome!!! It’s so interesting to know a bit more about Bhaals background after figuring out my own character’s story.
Love the vid :))), cant w8 for your next vid (the quality is supurb).
Three companions all shrouded in mystery
At ironfang keep a place of fire giant history
There a doppelganger a surviver of the dawn war
Now the voice of hargut quite near its core
They braved liches and other minions of the god of death
Now ascended to godhood taking their final mortal breath
SPOILER ALERT - Play as the Dark Urge in BG3......Ya just happen to get a butler woot woot
YES I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN HE MENTIONED THAT IN THE VIDEO!!! Love it 🙌
Great video
Just encountered your channel, keep up the good work and you will gain your deserved fame eventually
Thank you so much :)
@@itslegendlore looking forward to the videos covering The Triad or Kelemvor someday
@@YaminoSeigi Jergal just came out :) hes not exactl a part of the triad but i assure you theyll all get their own videos very soon
I would like to align myself with him.
Any chance to get a remake with updated BG3 info video on Bhaal or maybe on the original Bhaalspawn or even on the (Blood In Baldur's Gate) Dark Urge? Great videos btw!
Absolutely want to remake this one xD it’s so old and definitely could benefit from a facelift
Ah! Amazing to hear! Can't wait when you finally get around to it! :D@@itslegendlore
since forgotten realms is one of those settings where gods draw sustenance and power from worship, gods like this would realistically be very weak, since not many people would choose to worship a god like this.
Assassins and hit men are generally too sociopathic to be capable of true religious devotion; I could see the occasional mobster worshipping him, but those sorts mostly only care about money, so gods of greed would be more popular; that really only leaves serial killers, who depending on their particular motivations may suffer the same restriction as assassins and hit men.
The type of serial killer I see being most prominent in Bhaal's cult are the ones who derive sexual gratification from killing people, the guro/snuff fetishists. Which means that Orin the Red's love life probably most resembles that of Armin Meiwes, AKA the consensual cannibal.
You did mention a righteous slayer of evildoers as a potential good-aligned bhaal worshipper, but such an individual is far more likely to pick Tyr or Bahamut as their god.
I thought Bhaal has been relagated to demi-god in 5E?
I think Bhaal is the most popular of the dead three right?
I am bhaalspawn.
Im curious as to your thoughts of bhaals relationship with dark urge from baulders gate 3. Does bhaal possess you in the evil ending if embrace him? Would you say hes lying to manipulate dark urge or was he sincerely being honest when its said he suppedly loves dark urge?
Bhaal probably only loves the Dark Urges capability to murder, cuz he kills you if you resist him outright which means he is only keen on keeping you around if ur useful to him
Great video, but I'm confused by the wording on the Knife of the Lord, and don't see a link to the item statblock. Does the Knife allow you to mark multiple targets, or does the die increment just reset when the wielder attacks a new target before killing the old one?
Yeah this was way back in the beginning of my magic item days xD i'll try to release a new one that makes sense, but yes the die increment resets if you attack a new creature, it only stacks so long as you keep on the one
@@itslegendlore much appreciated! Keep up the good work!
could a lich cleric Bhall work as some sort of priest who wants to kill people to become a high divine being within Bhall's ranks I'm going for a pinhead like character?
I believe so, I see no reason why it wouldn’t work :)
Amazing video! You got a new subscriber here!
I may make one suggestion though, having the words on the screen completely different from what you're saying is pretty distracting 😅
Do you have videos for the other legs of the dead 3?
Yep yep both bane and myrkul have been covered, I may remake these videos now that BG3 is out xD but we’ll see
@@itslegendlore thanks. Also it may be too much of an ask, but could you do some of the other racial gods at some point.
@@Greenknight3 I plan too 😎
I worship bhaals 😂
Schweaty Bhaals.

It just feels like you are projecting info from previous editions, not how 5th edition continued on with the story.
An example would be where the 1000 years of imprisonment should be done by now in the storyline.
Also, Cyric's portfolio has greatly diminished due to the 1000 years of not providing a motivating boon to keep worshipping him.
Ofc dnd can be interpreted however someone sees fit, explaining a world that is canonical with all the editions leading up to the 5th, and cherry picking that which is the most consistent throughout the editions, is what most people are after - especially considering that most people who listen to you aren't dungeon masters or even playing dnd..
But it's very enjoyable to listen to a story unfold. That's why you'll find channels like Mrrhexx does so well and he creates only one video a month, that's about 1 topic.. But he explicitly focuses on "The Forgotten Realms", which is where in games like Balders gate is set, along with many other campaign settings.
I've went through all your videos several times, because I enjoy a fresh perspective when it comes to world building with dnd, but your title suggests "lore".. Something that is canonical.
Otherwise, you are just explaining your world that you made up and doesn't fall within the realms of games many of us has played, such as the aforementioned Balders Gate.
An example would be when you spoke of the now wife of the dead Correlien Lorethian. You explained in that video that she is the leader of the now Celdarien pantheon, and only afterwards you explain that this is the lore for *your* game, not the canonical story of dnd, as defined by the creators throughout the passed 40 years.
Just something to ponder, but you really have the potential to have hundreds of thousands of followers on youtube and can make a very comfortable living off of TH-cam, while delving deep into something you clearly love -
And nothing prevents you from still explaining how your game differs to that of, let's say, the forgotten realms setting, in order to have options available to dungeon masters, and to create a broader perspective to those that just listen dnd related stuff.
Kind Regards
Dan
Lol appreciated :) I’m actually having trouble finding any modern lore on the gods and their doings in 5th edition, are there any resources you’d recommend?
Abdel gross
Holy hell that's an annoying way to transition text
This is not canonical. Bhaal remained dead from the “ Time of Troubles “ all the way until the “ Second Sundering” as far as I’m aware. I don’t believe the module “ Murder in Baldur’s Gate “ is canonical in any way . Even in the terrible Baldur’s Gate novels he never returns.
Murder in Baldur's Gate is pretty much canon. It answers how exactly the Lord of Murder returned in the Second Sundering.
@@victorhugothomaz3480 Some of the things in the video directly contradict the novels.
@@ZeitgeistQuintessence I think the book series have been scrapped from canon as well.
The only thing still remaining from the book which is canon is that Abdel Adrian is Gorion's Ward.
Other than that everything about the book was contradictory to established lore. Minsc for instance had long orange hair, Khalid abused Jaheira, etc.
But in established lore characters of Minsc and Khalid are nothing like the lore.
@@darthludicrous99 Yeah , the Baldurs Gate novels are trash. I meant Forgotten Realms novels in general.
I dont think this is right. Jergal had portfolios. Death strife and murder. Bhaal didnt take death. He took murder. That first quote is wrong. He says he chooses murder because it can kill banes followers, and not murdering would starve myrkul of souls. He cant choose death because myrkul claimed it
