Hi,Crafters. I’m sorry but I forgot all about sharing because I was somewhat carried away with my big boo-boo. These are the details: “Before I started making this video, I received in the post three Woodware Ultra Fine Tip Glue Applicators (WW2916) I’d ordered last week from an online craft shop called Crafts 4 Less (www.crafts4less.co.uk). Over the years I have seen lots of crafters use these but never thought about it for myself. That is until a couple of weeks ago! I don’t remember who I was watching, but a crafter was using one and she used it to apply the glue as dot dot dot along the thin edges of some letter die-cuts. She had the right amount of glue coming out of the fine metal tip - not too much and not too little! I was totally sold on this idea and ordered a pack of three which come with a non-rust pin to stop the glue from drying in the tip. I gave a brief demonstration how it works when I adhered some holly and berries to my video card. When I was looking online, I did see cheaper bottles i.e. five bottles for the same sort of price. I decided on a brand because they do say “buy cheap, buy twice” and I wouldn’t want to a problem with glue bottles especially if the problem was that the bottles split! (Note: I’m not getting paid to talk about these bottles - I’m really impressed with them!)” xx
I watch other demonstrators who seem to think they need to keep the finished card a surprise. I really appreciate it that you don’t do this. Instead we get multiple samples and know what we are making. These cards are beautiful.
Such a fun card! Thank You for sharing! I can't wait to try it out myself for some upcoming Christmas cards!!! Happy Crafting & much love from the States! ❤
Many thanks, Sam. Your card in the Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine (no. 224) last week is stunning! Although it's an easy card to make, I was extra pleased to see you had made a video a couple of months ago! xx
Jan - this is an exquisite card that I will be making for one of my Holiday cards this year. You have inspired me to purchase the stamp and die sets and I so wish I could have given you the credit for it but I am in the States. 😭 Thank you for all the amazing work you do!
This is fabulous Jan and so much simpler than other designs. I have a condition that makes me quite tired some days and I can't craft. I've been wanting to make hubby a special Christmas card but wasn't sure some days how much I could do and this was perfect. I have this exact stamp set and dies I adore it. I'm halfway through and I've got a heavy book on it overnight as you suggested. I look forward to finishing tomorrow thanks Jan for another brilliant card x
Many thanks, Lindsey. Life must be very frustrating for you when your mind in raring to go but your body isn't. Yes this card is amazingly easy but on the other hand it isn't a 5-minute card! But it is stunning and well worth the time! Enjoy this project - I'm sure your hubby will love it! xx
I love this card. I know I say this about all of them ... lol...but I really do love this one. Thanks again Jan for sharing and demonstrating beautifully. I'm going to make this card today!!! :)
I LOVE this card. Pool Party paper is my favorite color. I love it being used for Christmas. I usually believe Christmas Cards should be in the traditional dark green, dark red, dark blue, white, gold, and silver. But, lately, there are several videos, of using non-traditional colors. And, I do like many of them.
Many thanks, Donna. It took me time to get used to non-traditional colours for Christmas. I am struggling with pink and Whimsy & Wonder as much as I love the Designer Series Paper! xx
Brilliant !!! I love the card and always appreciate your effort with the different measurements. Looks like a lot of extra work, so thank you very much for that.
Hi, Diane. I forgot to say where the glue bottle was from because I made that boo boo!. Please see the pinned comment at the top; I've put all the information in there. xx
Thank you so much for showing this card, Jan! I'd been eyeing it for a while, and I love following along on your videos, as they are not rushed and give me just what I need! Thanks for all the tips, too. Beautiful and fun card. We can do 6 inch (or other size) square cards in the US, our only problem is the postal service charges us extra for them. They're mean like that, haha. ~Kimy
@@janbcards Haha, yeah. You're learning a lot about our USPS, lately. Square cards apparently do not sort well in the machines, so just like our cards with bulk or dimension or embellishments, they want us to pay a non machinable surcharge. If you hear us talk about "butterfly stamps," that is what these are, stamps with a butterfly on them marked "non machinable" and basically include the surcharge on top of regular postage for one stamp. They don't have a butterfly stamp for global, which is why they get double postage and a bunch of rubber stamped, red "NON MACHINABLE" all over the envelopes... :D Stay beautiful, well, and happy, Jan!
@@kiavonne It strikes me they are using that as an excuse to charge you more because we don't have that problems. And shhh!! don't mention it to our postal service! LOL!! Have a great weekend. 💖. xxx
Thanks so much, Linda! That's a great compliment coming from you. 💖 I used to watch your videos when I first started crafting 14 - 15 years ago. I hope our paths cross one day. xxx
@@LindaBauwin Hi, Linda. I've been binge-watching your videos today and ended up CASE'ing your Double Opening Flap Card you made using the special Eden Garden DSP! Tomorrow I'll be playing with it a bit more to design a Christmas card for my video on Sunday! It's a great fancy fold! I hope you have a great weekend, take care and stay safe. 💖 xx
Yes, Stampin' Up! do sell it (see page 126 and page 136). I tend to make cards 5.75" square for A4 cardstock users and 5.5" for letter-sized cardstock users because I know not all crafters buy 12" x 12" cardstock - mind you it would make my life easier when it comes to giving measurements! LOL! xxx
@@marshalong1614 Hi, Marsha. There are three sections. The first two sections are on page 126 Assortments & Bundles. 1). On the left-hand side, written in pink then black you can see COLOUR FAMILY Across the top looking to the right the second column reads 12" x 12" CARDSTOCK ASSORTMENTS. In these packs there are 20 sheets: 2 each of 10 colours. There are four assortments one for each of our four colour families. 2). Underneath the COLOUR FAMILY you will see, also written in pink then black, IN COLORS. In the second column it says in the 12" x 12" packs there are 20 sheets: 4 each of 5 colours. 3). Page 136 on the left-hand side, written in Pale Papaya (?) and then black BASIC CARDSTOCK. In the third column it reads 12" x 12" Cardstock and is available in packs of Basic White and Very Vanilla. These packs have 12 sheets of one colour. I hope this helps, Marsha. Kind regards, JanB. xx
