Not sure if it’s a senior cat thing, but a cozy blanket draped over the side of the couch blanket fort style is my cat’s ultimate nap spot. Blanket fort is a must!
I installed lattice over the screens on my porch. My cats can't get out of there, but love to sit in the windowsills. I'm going to put a screen door between the porch and the house with a an opening so they can come and go onto the porch as they like. I rolled up a three foot wide carpet scrap and tied it with a sisal rope, then fastened it to a sturdy hook on the wall. They can run and jump up with all four feet. They love it! My husband used to go cat fishing with stout string on an old deep sea fishing reel and cut off rod. He and the cats had so much fun! Treats are so expensive! I saved a couple of treat jars and filled them with some yummy dry cat food. They think they're getting a treat and I'm saving money!
To keep litter in the box: put the litter box inside a larger cardboard box, or plastic tote, with higher sides, leave the top open. Cut down one side if your cats are too old to jump in. For a litter mat look for the mats that are two layers. A layer with holes on top of a layer that is solid. That's the only mat that actually traps the litter.

I have 7 cats. None of them push their bowls around ♡ I fully plan on buying a catio. 5 out of 7 of my cats were born outside. I do not believe in outside cats but I want to let them outside for short amounts of times safely

@triciaschymanski9348 The globe can be removed easily. We just wash the globe outside with a hose and Dawn dish soap. Even if your cat never gets sick, the company recommends deep cleaning it once every 3 months.
I have an automatic cat box, along with three other stainless steel boxes and he uses them all, but his solid waste ends up in the automatic one mostly. Never had any trouble with it. It did cost $400, so not a cheap knockoff.
When l first adopted my 6 month old rescue cat, she'd chew electrical cords. Nothing worked. Then, l read this tip: Unplug the cord, make a paste out of water and pepper, wipe on the cord, and let dry. So, l tried it. After a few more tries at chewing, and a hot mouth, she quit chewing for good!
l use crystal cat litter too l have four cats and all of them love it l love the easy cleane up and the way the litter is very light weight l have a very bad back and con not left heavy cat litter

We have a brain-damaged cat with very poor vision and balance/reflex issues. She doesn't jump well or bunny kick. Balls with bells inside them are great fun for her! She tracks the sound very well, and more than half the time will find the ball she swatted. She also loves a shallow box filled with crumpled paper of different weights - like packing paper, tissue paper, and printer paper. The noise fascinates her. A wand toy with a bell on the end also uses the noise factor. Lastly, she chases a laser light (clumsily) as long as the red dot is within 6-10 inches or so from her. Beyond that, she can't see it. Visitors are always amazed at how well she navigates! Your cat won't be as maniacal with toys, but the sheer joy of simpler play is obvious with our little cat. Note: are you sure your cat's actions are the result of eyesight? Cerebellar hypoplasia in cats causes balance and reflex issues. Your vet would need to rule that out. It's not as rare as you think, and there's probably Facebook or Web groups dedicated to helping owners enrich the lives of these cats. Bless you for caring for a cat with special needs. 💗
maybe you should get her one of the toys with a string on it with a mouse toy on the end so you can dangle it in front of her and she can play with it and it will make her happy my cat likes those little cat ball l can throw it away from her and she brings it back to me
They can get whisker fatigue from eating out of deep bowls but not from cleaning themselves you say, sounds fishy to me. Self cleaning litter boxes are the best way to increase your veterinary visits for fixing the problem with self cleaning litter boxes.

First, shut your doors! When you go to put her in the carrier, open the door, and tip it up on its end. Gently pull your kitty's front legs back and "pour" her into the carrier. It stops leg bracing. Got this tip from my vet!

Wood-fire pellets make great kitty litter. They just turn to sawdust with a nice wood odour when the urine touches them leaving little to no smell.

Tractor Supply Co. store has 40-pound pine pellet bags for around $7 (pelletized pine). It's ruined us, we can't go back to regular litter!

If your cat is sick, and has the runs. How big of a hassle is it to take apart the Robot to clean and put back together.

NEVER use a Litter Robot or self cleaning litter trays they are known to accidentally trap cats and that can be fatal.

A laser light slowly moved will be gentle but gives Kitty fun and a little exercise.
How about the toys that are a ball in a circular track. They can swap the ball but it won't get lost.
