The funniest thing about the poison swamps is that Miyazaki actually admitted that he just can't help making them and keeps putting them in in moments of weakness

So, I looked it up.
It turns out that in an interview, Miyazaki legitimately cannot help himself with the poison swamp levels, and sometimes actually finds himself making them absentmindedly.

I think it's more impressive to beat Elden Ring by doing completely random shit than to beat it by conventional means

Eh, it's cool, but I don't think it's too impressive. He's pretty high level, and the game gets fairly easy after you get over 50, which it seems like he is. Not saying the whole game is easy, but there's a difference between the first 30 or so levels, and the last 50. I could be wrong though once you get further into the game, but I didn't see him face anything I haven't seen that was pretty cake walk compared to Margit or Godrick at around 30.

They actually start with a different enemy there in the beta, but somehow they always go with the crab in the end. Just another example of carcinization.

Miyazaki has an unhealthy obsession with dogs, crabs and swamps that I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to make a Dog Riding Swamp Crab for any future DLC

It was only a matter of time, that RT absolutely eviscerates the natural progression of this game.
It's how I've played it too, I've done SOME exploring but I've killed 3 or 4 bosses, am in the last zone, and am way over my head lma9
There's not really much of a natural progression tbh
It's an open world game, I don't think the devs fully expect us to go through the game in a linear fashion.
@@BuffiestFluff last zone in 3 or 4 bosses? You vastly underestimate the size of this game. 90 hours in lvl 120+ and there's a whole side of the map unexplored, plus some extra underground zones.
As an advice, avoid exploring dragonbarrow too early because it's as hard as the true endgame areas in terms of enemy difficulty. Everything else in the south (except underground and on the sky) is fair game to survive.
@@acehughj4527 yeah last zone according to the googling I've done, it's easy to touch every zone on the map, but I've easily missed 90% of dungeons and shit

On an attempt against Rennala I killed her second phase at the same time she killed me with a spell. Her dialogue is longer than the Tarnished death animation, so it counted as a loss and I had to rebattle her again.
Same here mostly. I killed her, but didn't realize she summoned a giant, the giant slammed down and one-shot me for a loss
I died at the same time as her as well, all 40k runes or so were on the map but unreachable, the kill counted but there was no way to get my runes back 😔
On my winning attempt against Rennala, I killed her, and then got killed by a lingering spell. I got killed just late enough for it to count as a win, but then I discovered that my runes were directly inside of NPC Rennala after the fight, so I couldn’t pick them up.
Lovely, isn’t it?

Fun fact. All of the crucible knight's phase two attacks are incantations the player can get (except for the wings). You can even get his armor, sword, and shield.

After each main Boss you should go to the mirror in the Round Table to change your appearance and make Todd Howard a little happier the further you get, after all, the faster you finish the faster he can get back to making another Skyrim.

Dan played a lot of Souls' games so his experience would naturally translates here, but yea I think the most important part is having the right mentality to play these games

I’ve almost completely beaten Elden ring now and admittedly I strayed off the path more than what was intended sometimes but HOLY FUCK RT EVEN I WASN’T THIS BAD
welp... i have to say that i've strayed from the main path that much or even more, i was lvl 30 pure mage doing the Sorcery City quests in Caelid, safe to say that was a horrid experience, at least i got the Nightmaiden's Mist pretty early on and used it to cheese a LOT of high level bosses, earning 90k runes when a boss of my level gave me only 10k runes...

The horse is such a good addition. From Software clearly learned from Sekiro that mobility makes the game more fun, plus it open up a lot of options for boss design if the player has a second fast-moving mode they can go into.
It also allows the player to get stuck trying to scale a mountain using only the horse

Pro tip: Sometimes using Torrent just makes world bosses harder. Try switching between horseback and foot to maximize damage output and survivability. I find Erdtree Avatars much harder on horseback because you can't dodgeroll for some I-frames. Dragons are easier only if you use Torrent to get away from certain breath attacks. It's very situational. Just find what works best for you.
Erdtree Avatars are definitely easier on foot, but dragons I always fight 100% on horseback other than to get critical hits, their moves are so predictable you can avoid them all even without dodging
The dragons are basically a remake of midir so it's trivial if you've done a sl1 run and slain midir.

Horseback trivialises the golden orbs the avatars shoot at you, so I generally fight them on horse if possible. Other than that I just get some hits in, charge away for the swings, then get back in for more hits.

god some of the boss fights are absolutely beautiful. the music and visuals for the boss fights against the Ancestor Spirit and the Queen of the Full Moon in particular are stunning

Every time I watch footage of this game I see a place I've never been. Sometimes it feels like the map isn't that big because you cross it so fast yet it is so easy to miss huge sections of the game

I've come back to finish watching RT play Elden ring after playing through some more myself, and RT, WE LOST THE GREAT RUNE THE SAME EXACT WAY!!! I realized it gave 40 levels worth of power, played really safe, then got beamed by the erdtree avatar before I even knew what happened hahaha. To watch you suffer the same exact fate was truly the most hilarious thing for me, may our darkened souls be put to rest haha.
Not gonna lie, I would unironically play a game where I fend off my boss with a ruler. I would absolutely play IT Souls.
At this point, I think Miyazaki is just subtly sharing that he's suffering from crabs

If you didn't get the comment, there's a quest involving the jellyfish summon, reuniting her with the sister Roderika tells you she's searching for, and if and when RT finds the sister, there'll be a pretty big payoff cause of the joke.

With the presentation, the Ancestor Spirit was probably my favorite boss fight so far.
I just beat the game with 100 hours easily the best game I’ve ever played
I took about 77 hours to beat the final boss but I’m nowhere near done with the game
I mean a bit too much praise but fair considering it’s very good and very fun.
It's amazing to me how RT can basically handicap himself to the most massive extent at the beginning of his journey and come out unscathed, yet also fail bosses because he's obsessed with fighting them while mounted.

So from what I know, to actually do something around the jar, you gotta look carefully at the path in front of it. It’s self explanatory from there.
