I started back in rc many decades ago, This is the best time ever to,pick the hobby it use to require a lot of work , patience and required a lot of effort, now you can buy a top notch plane and be flying in an hour.

Got mine the first week it was out. Love it! Such a cool rendition of the "Iron Dog" , as some Allied pilots called it. And it helped hold the line against the Japanese in 1941/42. But the Russians sure loved it. Many of their aces in WW2 flew the p-39 Airacobra

I live up in the North of Scotland and I am really appreciating your channel. After watching the Habu Jet demo, well I was inspired and just went and ordered one! (for my kids of course). I think the fact you can practice first with the transmitter and Habu on Real Flight is a major PLUS ++++.
The Aircobra is beautiful, flies superbly and is very reasonably priced with retracts and flaps. This WILL Be my 3rd plane.
2nd plane has to be the Eflite F15 BnF..again inspired by you guys. My wife was saying, “hey thats Nates wife, can I come fly too?”
Of course we said...”yeah..buy some batteries honeypie!”

I am originally from Huntington and my job had me all over the Tri-State for 20 years. It has been several decades since I was at the Cannonsburg field and only thing I flew there was Ukies. It’s a great looking plane and looks really fun to fly! I like how Eflite has been recently putting more detail into there scale birds. I’m not crazy about the tric gear on a warbird but she looks amazing in the air with the gear up. Great flying And camera work Saylors

Great flying Nate and professional looking camera work Abby. I love the slow-mo. That's an amazing looking warbird. I've never noticed one with the engine exhausts in that location before. (Just found out the engine was located behind the cockpit). You'll soon need a warehouse for all your planes the way you're going. I have enough trouble finding room for only 4 RC cars, but then again we don't have basements or attics down here in Aus. 😢

In a real P-39 the engine is actually placed behind the pilot, I had an opportunity to help restore a P-39 when I was going through A&P school or Airframe & Powerplant at Rock Valley College here in Rockford, IL. It's a very interesting aircraft.

I really have head great things about this plane. Our buddy R and I were talking about over wing and under wing planes today.
It looks like a great plane to fly, stable and sexy. Maybe since I am less than 6 months into flying it can be a spring plane for me.

Mark Dale: are you comfortable with fast, sporty 4 channel planes? I jumped from the 3-channel Champ to a 4 channel low wing sport plane (Dusty Crophopper) and it was so much faster that I crashed it repeatedly. I suggest an aeleron trainer.
Chris Ieda I have only been in the hobby less than a year, slowly progressing and know my limits.
Baby steps for me but I will get there. I learned my lessons on weird expensive drones.

I bought this plane in the middle of the summer and I flew it quite a bit. I didn't have any 4S batteries so used some good 3S-2200's. That's plenty for scale flight.

Good video. I like the P39, not only is it a different looking plane, the tricycle gear should stop it “tripping over” on grass. Which seems to be a problem with most warbirds, even after a perfect landing.
You need to try eflite t28 1.2 on 4s you will love it plus an excellent first warbird!
Very realistic looking plane. Love the decals. As Alway's top gun flying, but better. If I remember the first time you flew I wondered if you could modify the drop tank spot for camera carrying And or fpv. The slow mo Alway's looks great. Maybe put your go pro on the small tri pod then fly straight at it. Fast and low for a great head on view ❓❓. Or daring Abby could hold the camera. 😂🤣😂😉😉. Great review⚓⚓👍🤜🤛👍💗⚓⚓.

Great review! On my wishlist! You mentioned perfect setup in the links but I don't see it. I presume you mean a downloadable config for the plane in a spectrum TX?.
Love these bigger planes Nate. Do they make a smoke kit for it? It would be really cool if you could find away to mount three leds on the wings where the guns would have been and have them alternate like the original machine guns would have than add a tiny sound card inside that you could flip a switch on and have the sound of the guns firing as it flies by.
Very nice flying model and that is how they should be,the cheaper ones tend to be skittish and tricky to handle.

I have this plane and love it., the 1.2 June nite p 51d is just about comparable to the air cobra both have the same motor and ESC.

Would this be a good third plane to start branching out? I started with a HZ sport cub 2S, then went to a timber turbo 1.5m which has been a dream to fly but looking to branch out to a midwing Warbird for some more acrobatics. I have a few 4S batteries that would fit and I often fly off grass. Any input would be appreciated. I love all your videos. Can’t stop watching them.

I have a question, you list a lipo alarm, is this simply a battery checker to be used on the ground, or is it meant to be used when flying? Does it let you know its time to land? I have some of those where you check the battery when its out of the plane, they are definitely handy.
This plane is discontinued but I really like the look of it - are there any other models that are similar?
When doing a fly by, could you please bank the model towards the camera but hold a straight line? A Gallery Pass! They are the best.

The P-39 didn’t excel as a fighter but did well in the ground attack role. The Russians received quite a few from the US in WW2 and put them to good use. With the engine mounted behind the cockpit it acted as extra protection from behind and was less likely to take damage during ground attack. If I remember correctly, besides machine gun it had a cannon that fired through the spinner, similar to some German and British fighters of the era.
Thats actually a misconception, the russians did indeed use the Aircobra as an interceptor, and quite well indeed. It was the favorite plane of the top scoring russian ace, and they loved it so much that Bell developed the new and improved P.63 Kingcobra specifically for the russians. They often removed the wing guns, and sometimes replaced the big cannon with a smaller one to lower the weight and increase ammo capacity, and make it even better in a dogfight. The thing was that the P-39 was quite bad at higher altitudes because it lacked a turbo supercharger (they all went to the P-38 in fact),which is the reason the US and UK pilots disliked it, but on the eastern front aircombat took place at much lower altitudes, and it didnt need a turbo. And compared to the fighters the russians had at that time, the P-39 was a huuuuge improvement. Strong, manouverable, yet easy to handle, both in the air and on the ground, it became a great tool as they developed better fighters themselves. And it stayed in cervice to the end, in fact the last plane shot down by a Luftwaffe pilot was an Aircobra.

@@charlesparmele Happy to be your history teacher :) For what it is worth I just found out about this myself, I also had read that the russians used it for ground attack. Another thing I just found out was that the british had to really fight the americans to convince them to use the Merlin in the Mustang, it was much closer to not happen at all than at least I was aware of.
I cant get a good eflite lately either parts are not glue good. Enough I bought viper and nose gear seized up landed my Texan and landing gear fell off no glue fms the way to go
Love my p-39 but keep your eye on the ec3 plug mine melted off flying with a 2200 4s ! And then just fell out of the sky .:(

Battery is good still use it in my 64mm f-16 and f-15 . Maybe because I’m a to the bar flyer ? Lol
