How to Unlock a GM Theftlock Radio (Simple & Easy Steps!)

- Hey Guys! corey foulem your car guy here, for today's video, I will be showing you how to unlock a GM Theftlock Delco Radio from the mid 90's to mid 2000's, this tutorial works with every radio that is similar to the Chevrolet, GMC & the Pontiac Radios, they can be CD or Tape Players

I just got a new motor installed in my 2000 Chevy silverado and for some odd reason my radio was locked but thanks to you that isn’t a problem anymore! Thank you , got my neighbors 2002 radio going today , it locked him out after a battery change . Took 3 x calling the number , I got thru , typed in my 6 digit retrieval code , gave my my 4 digit code , worked like a champ . Today is 5/9/2022 , thank you .
How did you enter the 4 digit code in a 000 000 format??

This worked 100%. The phone number still works you just may need to call it a few times before it picks up. My code started with a 0 so I just used the last three. The timing of pushing 2 and 3 has to be right on, may take several attempts. Thank you for the info.

Worked on my 1999 cavalier, but I did need to set all four digits. My code was 1040 so I set the "clock" to 1040`.

You don’t have to enter in the number of car type just wait for it to end. Enter 106010. My car needed 4 digits not three like the video suggested. Worked for me 10/21.

That is all well and good for the head units that have buttons. My Delphi unit from the 2013 Acadia has tactile areas around the edge of the display and just two buttons, On/Off and Tune/Select. The screen says "LOCKED" and it appears there may be a sequence of touching the tactiles or the buttons or both but I haven't found out the combination. Any help would be appreciated.

This worked for me July 6 2019 have a 2002 gmc yukon just a note though remember to hold down 2 and 3 for a long time until the number comes up. Then when you call the number let it play all the way through and just enter one of the numbers it has in video with astrick after I used the first one that starts with a 6. Don't push any of the numbers it mentions in call.
Hello I’m stuck in the same situation as everyone else 2002 denali suv GMC battery went dead so replaced it radio won’t ply out turns on but won’t display loc ?! What else could it be or am I doing something wrong I know this is a couple years old but please please anyone lmk I’m so upset I wanna jam out again 😥 just happened today

Awesome! Been looking for unlock videos for a while and nobody's was working for me. This one worked exactly! Well except a little FYI for those whose numbers begins with a 0 (zero) you'll use the last 3 numbers instead of the first 3. Thanks again!

Well my Cadillac 2006 sts had a bad radio changed it out ...says theft lock on the nav type yq4 opt ever have to deal with that radio to unlock or dealership only fix?

My 2002 GMC Delco radio CD player is tracking all the way to the right speakers. The balance adjustment does not move it over. How do I adjust the tracking for the CD player?

I need help with my gmc 2002. I got my code 1955 unclear to how to enter this if he is entering a 3 digit code. Do I enter Hr 19 then MN 55 ?? It loc s me out every time. Or do I enter 19 hr the 95 or 5 MN? Do u think you can help me?

Thanks this has helped me... I did have one problem but soon figured out the two 3-digits code were the same number. It’s was 042-042 .... called the phone number and got the correct code which is 0203 and entered the last 3 numbers 203
I had a 1999 Chevy Z71 truck
It’s only requesting a 3 digit code when I call number they give me a four digit code radio not saying loc hits displaying time
This one makes more since than all the others I've seen ! Thank you !

I assume this technique will not work when replacing an oem factory malfunctioning head unit with a used oem factory head unit of the same type from a different vehicle? Everything I see indicates that you have to go to the dealer for programming, as it is matched to the VIN of the car it originally came from. Any thoughts? My problem with my current radio is I have volume on AM band, but I have only very low volume on FM band, so there's another question....
It should not matter what car the radio is from as GM is using the ID code from the specific radio you are calling them about to get the code. Some radios are "fingerprinted" to the vehicle but all that means is as long as it is in the vehicle it came with you will never need a code as it won't ever lock out unless you install it in another vehicle. On these old GM's it will lock out anytime power is killed like from a dead battery or blown fuse, or if you unplugged the radio for some reason.
As far as the other issue if the stations are coming in that means the antenna is good so if you have a problem on FM but not AM that would point to a defective FM section in your tuner. Time for a new deck or repair.

Thanks. I have been looking all over the net for this information. Getting those dealer #'s was the key. Do you know if this will work on a 2013 chevy Sonic? Just want to replace the exst'g factory radio w/ a cheap used same from eBay except w/ a cd player. Is it better to go after market new? Thanks.
Just tried this and it worked. When you call the number listed make sure to listen for the whole message before entering in the dealer code.
