This imo was THE movie we needed in 2020. Truly teaches the value of life, you may have ambitions that you think you need to be something but all the little things you do can be enough for you and you just dont realise it. Like the movie says, "I'm gonna live, every minute of it."

@@FabioKun what the film says is that you are enough just being you and you don't have to put pressure on yourself to do anything except what makes you happy
You missed a win point. Although Joe’s big performance has some of the most beautiful shots in the film, its runtime is incredibly small, not even two minutes long. Compared to the ninety minutes of the whole film, it is almost disappointing how fast the moment comes and goes. That reflection is so meaningful because even though the moment cinematically is so sweet, glorious, and visually pleasing, much like how Joe feels while in the performance, it is insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Joe finds that out immediately. The moment we’ve all been waiting for doesn’t even satisfy the film or the viewer, in the same way it doesn’t satisfy Joe’s ambitions and success.
That's one of the things I loved about this movie, it doesn't want to be like Whiplash or other music focused movie. The music is a huge part of the story but not the main theme.
If you've ever been through a depression and got out of it thanks to a series of very small, seemingly unimportant things, this movie hits you like a ton of bricks. My new favorite Pixar. Incredible.
During the worst parts of my life, my mantra's been "No second spent breathing is a second wasted." And sometimes when bad memories or feelings resurface, it's that thought that keeps me going. This movie was lovely. It's a reminder that there's nothing specific you have to be for your life to be worth living, except a human being.
So a fun detail that I noticed even after my first time watching: When the movie starts Joe is really careless and clumsy and that’s the reason why he gets himself killed. When he is a “mentor” there isn’t really a way to be clumsy but when he gets into the cats body he acts clumsy again. He jumps from the bed and falls on the ground, he accidentally scratched 22 after not being able to sit on his shoulders and you can go on for a while. The more he is in this body the more he gets used to being careful and walking elegantly like cats do. When he finally gets back into his body he suddenly isnt that clumsy anymore and that’s because he learned from being a cat. It’s a small detail and easily overlooked but I thought it was worth pointing out.
@@jcoolguy1548 When he was rushing he avoided death but when noticed he could die he stopped to react and look. Then immediately dropped into a manhole. The rest of the film is no different than this in that Joe is still not looking at the full picture. The ending is the new manhole. This is a "satanic" concept of thinking: to never think of the larger narrative or "he's gonna getchya!"
the scene of 22 going through what's essentially a depressive episode really hit me, because the way they portrayed it really does show it feels, every time i watch it or think about it, i tear up
TWO WINS MORE: the title "Soul" appears at the end because it means that Joe STARTED his new life just like a movie begins And second in the dubbing of Latin America a joke from one of the souls that says "I'm a manipulative megalomaniac who's intensively opportunistic." and jerry says: "haha this is going to destroy a country"
What I love about Soul is that it subverts the usual "pursue your dreams and don't care about anyone else" message that many, many western films have. It says that you can pursue your passions and have dreams but not being "successful" in those areas doesn't mean you've failed at life. There is no defining "purpose" or "meaning" to people's lives - all you have to do is live it.
You are the universe, touching itself, tasting itself, experiencing itself. You are a completely unique experience. There is not a specific thing for you to do or be. Do and be what you do or be, and you are fulfilling your purpose, whatever it is. That is the meaning of life.
12:55 That is a scarily close representation of depression. The negative self talks can really crush your soul, and until you find a different perspective to see them as the lies they really are, they are the only reality you have, and can distort anything else trying to come in. That part hit real close to home for me.
@@kassandrax2322 hey friend. Thata sweet of you to say. I'm doing much much better since I started taking prozac and now I'm dealing with the underlying things which likely caused my depression. I think it’s crazy how well Pixar’s animation style has grown. Looking back at its earlier films and then comparing them to now is a mind-boggling experience. Definitely one of my favorite animated movies from the past few years.
This movie and Coco, the accuracy of not only the fingers playing the right keys on the instrument, but the body language of the player as they play--just stunning.
With all the live-action remakes Disney has been churning out in recent years, it kinda makes me wonder if they will "re-render" Toy Story someday. Keeping all the original voice acting, all the original script, the storyboards, shot compositions ... but modelling and animating everything from scratch. It would really show how far they've come.
A brief story about the quiet coyote: there was a time that one of my teachers in middle school couldn’t get the class’ attention with words. So without saying anything she held up the quiet coyote and immediately the whole room was dead silent. So yeah. Quiet coyote works.
It only works when you’ve already trained the children into it. Teachers often use their own personal visual and/or aural cue that they need the class’ attention as it saves their voices, but they have to set expectations at the start of the year and train children in its use with praise and rewards. So quiet coyote probably was that teacher’s cue.
My teacher said, and I quote, “SHADDUP MINI BRIAN JOHNSONS AND PAY ATTENTION” You almost never see teachers take their personal interests to work, and she introduced me to AC DC.
We had something different in middle school: laser beam. Basically, anytime the teacher says it, we were supposed to look right at him. He said to help, picture lasers were coming out of our eyes straight into his forehead. Freaky or not, it worked.
I loved the scene where Terry accidently captures Joe's friend's soul and lets him go with a friendly advice to stay away from the pre-processed food unless he wants to become dead for real, totally scaring Joe's friend out of his mind.
I dunno about you but if an outer world being threw me into a plane of...nothing, took my soul out, put it back, put ME back and told me “hey watch out that food will kill you” bet your ASS I’m listening.
If we think about it, 22 is probably the smartest “human” in all of history. She has been taught and essentially remembers all of the teachings of her previous mentors and whilst she may have had just your average old human as a mentor, she’s also been taught by some of history’s most famous people. That’s quite impressive.
But that’s another message in the story Just because you’re intelligent doesn’t mean your going to feel your life was a life It’s just an aspect of you,not what drives you or allows you Intelligence is not an end all or be all,it’s just a personality aspect
@@spacetacos7574 Oh, I wasn’t saying that at all. I’m just commenting on the fact that she probably would be, that’s all. I didn’t say it would have any hold on whether she’d be better equipped to handle life.
I mean, it's not really that difficult to imagine even for a music lover like me tbh. Just gotta imagine yourself in ringing ears from being awake for 35 hours with the help of caffeine and suddenly in an overfilled bus, one person starts listening just a bit too loud to that one obnoxious, superficial and repetitive song that's been playing one the radio for the last five weeks non-stop.
Soul is such a different movie. It is not your regular ' kids ' movie (I hate it when people automatically count every animation film as a kids film and discount the importance of themes in all of these films because ' its just for kids '). It is just so mature, thoughtful and soulful (pun partially intended). You begin to discover many other aspects of this film on each viewing. It begins to resonate with you even more as you grow up. It truly is a wonderful film. If Pixar keeps going on this path, I am sure that they have a bright future ahead of them.
Okay, okay I know you weren't saying this precisely, but this is a kids movie. Saying it's "just" a kids movie is degrading and wrong, but it is a movie for kids. It's just as important that kids see and internalize these themes at the age they are now. And anyone can appreciate the beautiful animation that this movie serves up. Once again I mean no disrespect you have a nice comment, but I see so many people claiming that a movie isn't for kids just because it doesn't dumb itself down. As if kids can't appreciate these kinds of movies.
@@bees4106 I agree with you. This is actually what I meant in my comment. I meant to say that people tend to count every animated film as a ' kids ' film (dumb and filled with body humor). I am not saying that kids cannot appreciate rich themes in a film. This is what I also meant for Soul as you get to appreciate its deeper meanings as you mature more in life but kids can interpret the messages of the film, too. Too often, I see making this mental barrier between ' kids ' films and ' mature ' films which is wrong. Just because something is being appreciated by kids doesn't make it of any less value. It has a lot of depth which remains unseen by adults out of ignorance or a strange notion of disinterest. Films like Soul are for all ages. Most well made ' kids ' films are for all ages.
A great, sneaky way to never put it into words and let the viewer determine for themselves what a "spark" is. Be it something you're passionate about, what you view your purpose to be, or just living life, you get to decide what it is for you. No one, not even a Jerry, can tell you. You have to figure it out.
as a musician myself, who is still waiting for my big break, this movie shattered my heart into smithereens. Because me & Joe have one giant thing in common - our passion and dedication to pursue our biggest dream made us take a lot of little things and life in general for granted. Propably if I saw my life like Joe I'd think ''this was meaningless'' at first, too. Whenever something cool happens, I enjoy it but in the end I brush it off because it didn't lead me to my success (spare me in replies, I know how it sounds). When Dorothea tells the story about the fish looking for the ocean, I paused the movie to cry my eyes out. I still have no idea what my spark is, but right now all that matters is what this movie taught me - you're already in the ocean, enjoy every flavor, every sound, laughter, time spent with family like it's the best thing ever. Because it is. I began writing a gratitude notebook, everyday write down things you're grateful for. I'll be coming back to this movie anytime I need a lil reminder to seize the day.
One Huge win has to be the clever way the movie presents itself. During the opening credits the last words on screen say “Disney/Pixar presents...” and after Joes final monologue the title of the movie pops up right before the ending credits. To signify that Joe found his soul and finally truly started to live. It’s just a tiny detail that I just absolutely love.
I liked how it showed all of 22's mentors' words effecting her like that, and it just shows that in real life even the slightest words parents/guardiens find as just random not-too-important comments can have a big impact negatively/positively to someone.
I am NOT an emotional person. I mean,, I'll understand the heart behind emotional scenes, but it's hard to get me to physically react to them. Heavy eyelids and watery eyes are usuallyabout as close to I get to actually crying. But the "Epiphany" scene is one of the ONLY times I actually shed a tear. And that deserves mention. 👏🥲
@@ninjanibba4259 Not everyone cries when something only slightly emotional happens, there are people who simply don't react physically to emotional things, its not a problem its just how they are.
@@ninjanibba4259 I have been tought that surpressing these emotions tends to be the "easier" thing to do (protip: it isn't in the long run, so don't do this) so when stuff happens that I KNOW is fictional, I can usually deal with it without much reaction, no matter how well written. I'm not trying to speak for Hayden or anything, it's just that I can relate to what they said, and try to explain one of the possible explenations for this. Because I very much have the same thing. Just the concept of Lost Souls is absolutely haunting to me. Being so caught up that part of you turns into this mindless, endlessly repeating monster *shudders*
This film changed my outlook on life. I’m currently studying to be a teacher and i always thought my purpose was to help people and teach children. This movie let me see the ocean! My purpose in life is not teach, my purpose is to enjoy it!! teaching is how i do that... it’s not my reason for living. This movie came out at the perfect time, this pandemic has affected all of us, but it has let me see that I need to focus on the things that matter; spending time with the people and things that matter. If i were to spend my whole life striving to be a teacher I’d eventually get there, but I would i be happy. I would’ve missed so many things to get there. Instead I need to enjoy my life and I’ll use teaching to do that. Thank you and well done Pixar again!
This movie has some of the best, most realistic (non-person) animation I've ever seen. The scene where they zoom out from Joe's apartment to the subway to Central Park to North America at night, to the galaxy was so damn beautiful
Movie came out right as I was flunking out of university after years of piled on anxiety and stress was just killing me. I’d been thinking to myself "I just gotta get into med school then my life can finally start" cos after that I would have finally lived up to the expectations so many people in my life had for me for as long as I could remember. That was my purpose and failing to reach that just kinda broke me for a while. It struck a chord with me to watch a movie that reminded you what living was all about again. Telling you there is no purpose to live up to besides just experiencing life itself and all the simple things. I get overly emotional, so a lot of movies bring me to tears, but this one really just resonated with me.
I relate to you so much, wow! I’ve always just dredged through to accomplish the next thing because that’s what I’m supposed to do. This movie was such a wake up call for me.
I literally just watched this movie after being in a super depressive “my life is wasted and I’m just gonna lie down in a corner and die” phase and going into a manic “getting my shit in order” phase, and man did this film hit me hard. I cried on probably 5 separate occasions.

And I'd say it's also impressive that they make it clear that it's badly played, but not so bad that it is painful to listen to (because that is a lot more difficult than some people realise).
Surprised that the moment on Terry's delivery of "Joe, you cheated" after Joe and 22 were arguing in the You seminar wasnt a win. It's so crushing for Joe and the movie viewers, but Terry is inarguably right, he did cheat. Just leaves you with a somber feeling you cant fight back against, but in the best way possibly
I would like to point out how much I love this channel. Whenever I watch something, I always see someone say something bad about it, and while it's good to notice the flaws in things, I like seeing an entire thing dedicated to seeing the good parts of shows and movies.

When I watched this movie, I didn't cry, but near the end I had to pause it and just write down what I was thinking to process my emotions. That was something that I never felt like I needed to do before but this movie just hit different. Pixar did a good job here.
I did cry, a couple of times. I'm not sure but I think it was mostly because I couldn't process the emotions the scenes gave me... I'm gonna try what you did. Thanks.
I love how we don’t get the title card until the last frame of the movie. I personally think that it is because this is where Joe’s life is gonna truly begin but who know I just think it’s neat
It's a tiny detail but one of my favorite scenes in the movie is showing the SOUL title card at the end of the movie after Joe says he's going to start living. It's pretty symbolic since title cards typically show the start of something. Therefore, this symbolizes the start of Joe's life and it makes me so warm everytime I see this singular moment
I really loved how much actual plot there was. It feels like a lot of animation has to be comedic 90% of the time but Pixar is just the master of having these warm films that don't overdo the cheeszyness. And this in particular sticks out so much as just fully emotional and strong
@@spooderman6312 In my opinion Up is overrated. That iconic scene is really good but it only goes downwards after that... I still like it, don't get me wrong, but I would rate it lower than any movie u just mentioned
This movie rivals Inside Out for my favorite Pixar movie. I like everything in this movie but Inside Out discusses depression which is so close to home that it is my favorite. Soul one of my favorite movies and for good reason. So much care was put into this movie, and imo they were finally able to crwate something to rival the famous Up scen
I agree, I love how Inside Out covered depression and toxic positivity, but Soul also dabbled in anxiety during the climax with 22. All the meaning of life stuff is great and all, but most people tend to overlook the scene where 22 becomes a lost soul. It’s my favorite, though, because it hits so close to home. Obsessing over something to the point that it consumes you, distorting everyone’s words to where they’re pure insults, feeling like you have to hide yourself from everyone else but at the same time feeling like offense is your only defense. Being viewed as this strange, distorted, potentially hostile creature by others- all the while craving that someone might see past all that and be able to ground you. It’s the perfect metaphor, and I love it.
@@nixxdra I also loved the theming of that part but the designs of the lost souls looked to much like any other evil thing in a kids movie and it pulled me out of the moment. Lost Soul 22 didn’t look good to me so it took some of the impact out of that scene for me. Although when we see how Joe’s words possibly hurt them the most that did bring me back for the most part
Adding a win for when Joe got home from his performance and starts playing piano while thinking about his day with 22 and realizing that spark and purpose aren’t the same thing. And in the background we have beautiful and breathtaking piano sounds.
Soul was the first Disney movie to ever make me cry. The meaning behind it is just so heavy and almost everyone can relate to it. It really makes you think about purpose and happiness and inspires a lot of introspection.

5:43 i think my favorite easter egg in any pixar movie is the joe ranft name tag in this scene. ranft was a screenwriter for pixar and voiced lenny in toy story, heimlich in a bug’s life, wheezy in toy story 2, pete ward in monsters inc, jacques in finding nemo, and red in cars. he died in 2005. his younger brother, jerome, also works with pixar as a sculptor. i like to think he added that detail and i just love that so much.
It came out at the right time for me... Unemployed... Falling behind two years to start college... Money problems. A lot of pressure, really something I needed to hear. So of course, I love this movie now.
0:39 Those are the correct positions for a Bb trombone with those notes! It was a high C# which is played in 3rd position for the first note, for example!
1:19 in jazz rehearsals such as those, it's oftentimes considered rude/ unorthodox to whip out a solo like that so my guess is that they were shocked for that reason.
Honestly, I think this movie exceds in its visuals, and I actually like more over these months! Its not the greatest movie of all tiem, but it has such wonderful moments that it just gibes you that fuzzy feeling inside you :]
Soul is such a life changing movie, because it makes you rethink why you want to live, Because your "purpose of life" isn’t your job, carrer, your "purpose" is why you want to want to live, why do you want to walk on the planet. For joe Its not because of his job or his play, why he thought he wanted to live was playing music, to his students, his heart, to the public and play with Dorothy Williams. And when finally got the part and played he felt disappointed. And as I see it, he was inspired to live was because he wanted to inspire someone like his father did to him. And when his a child he saw simple things that he forgot about when focusing on music. The sound of on the train, the sun against you face in sun. The walks between your house. The people he meet. He all miss that, And why 22 wanted to live, well just live everything that joe missed along the their road. She listened to the sounds, the sun against the sade, the nature in the small areas. And yet that's Regular old living.
I watched this film at a time in my life when it was actually starting to feel like I was making progress in my recovery from depression, and it hit me so hard I had to excuse myself to go sob in my room. This film really hasn't gotten enough recognition imo
The moment when Joe starts playing the piano and reflects on life just really hit me hard. I had tears in my eyes and it was overwhelming. What was until then a fun little body swap shenanigans movie, became so much more. Also, I once again beseech you to attempt Guy Ritchie's King Arthur, Legend of the Sword.
1:59 it’s string theory! Einstein created string theory originally on the basis of violin strings. All particles vibrating a part of a string. Since this is physics, string theory pertains to gravity. Some people call it quantum gravity, and is what we applied to understand black holes and open the idea of worm holes (Einstein Rosen bridge, like discussed in the first Thor). String theory requires that other dimensions exist and you have to travel through holes of time. So not only is joe traveling to a different dimension in a different “time”, since it’s originally based on violin strings I see this as both a music and a physics joke that flew over a lot of people’s heads.
Something I just noticed, the bike that almost hit Joe before he falls at 1:33 is a Vespa, a foreshadowing of their next film Luca! (Is foreshadowing the right term? When Pixar put hints about the movie that's going to come next?? Well I hope I was clear enough). Can I please ask you to do the movie Luca, please? I remember in videos like Megamind or Kubo that you like to point out wins and details about the eyes and this movie has plenty of those.
12:06 Not to undercut anything about this movie but it was really funny because when she said this and my parents just went "What?" And I had to explain it to them for like 5 minutes till they finally understood
Every time I'm feeling down, I come over and watch your vids, and it always makes me fell better to hear someone talk about what they love about something, especially if I share those feelings. Thank you for putting out this good energy. :)
This movie makes me cry every time I watch it. I'm a professional musician, and this last year has (obviously) been very difficult. It's been very difficult for everyone of course, but I felt like... my purpose was gone. Or at least stalled. And when I first watched this movie I sobbed at the end, because I finally felt like I was going to be ok. That it's fine if your "purpose" is just living life and enjoying the little things. So thank you for covering this movie. There's certainly a lot of good in it.
This was exactly the movie I needed to see 5 years ago, and watching it now made me so proud of how far I've come. 5 years ago I was in that stage of life where I felt I needed a purpose to deserve to live, and felt hopeless because I couldn't figure out what that purpose was. I was able to realize on my own that finding a purpose isn't the point of life. Living is the point. Seeing this movie really solidified that for me and I'm so happy that other people who watch this will be able to learn the same lesson :)
1:27 I think what’s lovely is, we just knew what he was feeling and that he was in the zone. No one had to tell us it was the zone to know what it was, that’s the beautiful thing, that we can all relate to that feeling ❤
As a jazz lover, I gotta say that the music was what brought me to this movie. I don't even have words to describe the feeling that it gave me to hear Tia Fuller's saxophone with Jon Batiste's piano.
I have gone into ‘the zone’ before. When I’m drawing, listening to music, or singing. The singing is the one I wanna bring up. It’s happened way more than twice now, and here’s how it goes: I’m looking at a sheet of music for school, I’ve learned it pretty well, I start going off of memory, I get in my own head, keep singing, notice everyone staring, stop singing, and turn red as a tomato
I was struggling with my depression when I watched this movie, and I literally had to leave the room(watching at home with my parents) when Joe showed 22 the mapple leaf thing as an expression for the meaning of life because I was crying so hard. Everyday I live now I appreciate little things like that.
7:42 It's because your body produces two kinds of sweat; the kind that is produced at your genitals and armpits has a different composition that causes the smell.
Idc if no one sees this but I need to let this out somewhere and where else but here, a place that that stays positive even if it’s negative. This movie saved my life. When this movie came out i had a failed suicide attempt less than a month ago. My whole life I dreamed of becoming a professional hockey player but it didn’t work out. After I graduated high school I felt like I failed and my life would never amount to anything because I failed. I’m a perfectionist so since I had failed to reach the dream I had since I was 4 I felt like my life had essentially amounted to nothing.(I still feel this way today bc I haven’t been able to find a new passion.) but this movie made me realize that life is worth living no matter how I felt, happy or sad. Im going to stick it out for now. At least until I find 2 more passions. They say 3rd times the charm and if I mess up 3 times then I’ll give up but until then I’m gonna live life bc failure is a part of it. Maybe my new path will make me happier than what my main goal would’ve. I could’ve been like joe and would’ve realized that maybe my life’s dream wasn’t all it was made to seem. If my backup and my backup’s backup fails I can accept defeat but until then I’m gonna live life to the fullest and make as much memories as I can until I’m gone. Thank you Pixar for saving my life.
I just wanna say that, as an autistic person who experiences sensory overload sometimes, that scene where 22 sees New York and the living world for the first time and gets overwhelmed is incredibly accurate.

I cried after this movie for that exact reason 😭

There's another way they show this:
He didn't go into the zone. He did for the audition, but not the actual performance.
If you've ever been through a depression and got out of it thanks to a series of very small, seemingly unimportant things, this movie hits you like a ton of bricks. My new favorite Pixar. Incredible.
Maybe that is why I loved the movie.
Yes, I can absolutely relate to that.
Literally had me holding back tears with my family lol
Very true... I felt all that 🤩 took me two depressions to get the hang of life and balance
I think it also that he learns to slow down and not rush
@@TheKat12364 I think this was the main thing here. though this only proves there are some genius parellels in this movie.
@@TheKat12364 that's what killed him......
@@Coolerranch1 not really
@@jcoolguy1548 When he was rushing he avoided death but when noticed he could die he stopped to react and look. Then immediately dropped into a manhole. The rest of the film is no different than this in that Joe is still not looking at the full picture. The ending is the new manhole. This is a "satanic" concept of thinking: to never think of the larger narrative or "he's gonna getchya!"
the scene of 22 going through what's essentially a depressive episode really hit me, because the way they portrayed it really does show it feels, every time i watch it or think about it, i tear up

TWO WINS MORE:
the title "Soul" appears at the end because it means that Joe STARTED his new life just like a movie begins
And second in the dubbing of Latin America a joke from one of the souls that says "I'm a manipulative megalomaniac who's intensively opportunistic." and jerry says: "haha this is going to destroy a country"
No kidding? That's hilarious!
Another win:
This animation has it's full circle ending with him feeling annoyed at his students and it ends with him smiling positively.
Also the line said by the Inuit woman Joel meets on the Escalator, which is subtitled in some countries: "This beats my dream about the walrus".
Para, ese chiste no está en la versión original en Inglés? Y que decían entonces? Jajaja
"But that's Earth's problem"
@@GuukanKitsune this was incredible to read, thank you

12:55 That is a scarily close representation of depression.

The class: *[chaos intensifies]*
Jerry: *Quiet coyote, b*tch!*
My teacher said, and I quote,
“SHADDUP MINI BRIAN JOHNSONS AND PAY ATTENTION” You almost never see teachers take their personal interests to work, and she introduced me to AC DC.
We had something different in middle school: laser beam.
Basically, anytime the teacher says it, we were supposed to look right at him. He said to help, picture lasers were coming out of our eyes straight into his forehead.
Freaky or not, it worked.
I remember learning quiet coyote at a zoo tbh
I loved the scene where Terry accidently captures Joe's friend's soul and lets him go with a friendly advice to stay away from the pre-processed food unless he wants to become dead for real, totally scaring Joe's friend out of his mind.
I spent a literal five minutes trying not to send my soul to the Great Beyond by laughing so hard at this scene that I asphyxiated

That’s quite impressive.
It's sad that she forgot it all
But that’s another message in the story

Soul is such a different movie. It is not your regular ' kids ' movie (I hate it when people automatically count every animation film as a kids film and discount the importance of themes in all of these films because ' its just for kids '). It is just so mature, thoughtful and soulful (pun partially intended). You begin to discover many other aspects of this film on each viewing. It begins to resonate with you even more as you grow up. It truly is a wonderful film. If Pixar keeps going on this path, I am sure that they have a bright future ahead of them.

Thanks for your reply mate. 😊
@@bees4106
I agree with you.
I literally never noticed that Joe zones out during the seminar in which they’re about to explain “so what is a Spark?” This film is perfect.
I know this is late and you probably wont see this, but as a young artist and wannabe comic artist/animator i totally feel you
One Huge win has to be the clever way the movie presents itself.

This is one of those films that gets better after each rewatch. The first time you watch you expecting something mind blowing and profound but don't get it so you write it off. The second time you view it you start to notice all the fun details and deeper meanings and start to relate with the characters.
13:53 Considering the movie was released on Disney+ rather than theaters, that is indeed the truth.
My piano teachers son played bass for this film! I had the honor to learn about jazz with him and his other buddies!
It was a high C# which is played in 3rd position for the first note, for example!
i gotta say as someone who spent time in a mental health care program with other teenagers, 22 was spot on with the people i’ve met
1:19 in jazz rehearsals such as those, it's oftentimes considered rude/ unorthodox to whip out a solo like that so my guess is that they were shocked for that reason.
5:08 The fact that this guy actually can spot these out amazes me
The piano montage made me tear up
Honestly, I think this movie exceds in its visuals, and I actually like more over these months! Its not the greatest movie of all tiem, but it has such wonderful moments that it just gibes you that fuzzy feeling inside you :]
It is the greatest movie of all time
@@PussInBootsTheLastWishFan2003
I mean, in tastes, there is nothing written. So if it is the greatest for you, then I am happy for fou ;)
This film really hit me in the feels. I've always felt lost not knowing where I'm going in life. The feeling of not having a purpose is crushing.
Soul is such a life changing movie, because it makes you rethink why you want to live,
Because your "purpose of life" isn’t your job, carrer, your "purpose" is why you want to want to live, why do you want to walk on the planet. He all miss that,
And why 22 wanted to live, well just live everything that joe missed along the their road.
She listened to the sounds, the sun against the sade, the nature in the small areas. And yet that's
Regular old living.
15:46 and that's a beautiful beard win
YES! I have been waiting 4 damn months for this channel to cover my favorite Pixar Movie
This movie changed my life around. It rocked me to my core about purpose and clarity. 10/10
I clicked this so fast, thank you for doing this movie!
SAME LOL
Same
SAME! I was in the middle of watching something too. Lol
Request of Everything Great About the entirety of the Pirates Of The Caribbean.
I've never cried at "It's All Right" before but this movie touched deeeeeep. This may be a debatable topic but this is my personal Pixar favorite.
That was beautiful ❤
I just wanna say that, as an autistic person who experiences sensory overload sometimes, that scene where 22 sees New York and the living world for the first time and gets overwhelmed is incredibly accurate.
Agreed. Probably the same (I have Asperger's)
