What I really like about your videos is that you start out with something that is not that good and then tweak by tweak you lift it to become excellent. It makes your videos worth watching time after time. Always fresh because of this. Thank you 🙏🏻 for this approach Daniel!

Daniel, I’m so grateful for your channel because it’s so honest and unpretentious. It shows you’re a master of your skills with nothing to prove, and your content is always about helping others achieve what has already become second nature to you. Amongst all the channels, I know when you post something, there’s always going to be a takeaway to improve one or more aspects of my own photography. Your step by step approach to explaining the subtleties of lighting and reflection makes one feel they’re in the presence of a real guru. Thanks

Wow, Daniel - you didn't give yourself an easy product, did you! Interesting process, and underlines the need to strive for "one more shot" and make sure it's better.

Great video Daniel Norton! Yes reflections are tricky but you showed us a great way to play around with them, again in Product Photography is more about how the item reflects the light source to define and shape the item. Thank you for all the great knowledge and techniques you share with us all!

Thanks, Daniel. I've used Cinefoil in the past as flagging or creating snoots, but never thought of using it at a small scale! This was definitely a duh moment!

Hi Daniel, thank you so much for sharing your mastery of light. The concept of the black foil is something I will now do with product photography but will also play with the technique when I am working with the model.

Great! I asked about photographing HotWheels in their plastic bubble packs and although I was ok with the results I felt that it could have been better…..the black foam boards is what I’m missing, I currently have about 70 cars to do and add to my growing collection, this video helps! Thanks!!

Daniel, I really appreciate the product photography demos. I have watched other demos, but have not seen this back-lit setup before. I have a side business and one of our products is in an semi-translucent plastic bottle. I never liked the photos I took and need to try this method.

Very informative, especially the use of the cinefoil to reduce the width of the plastic reflections. If photographing something small, like you were doing in this video, and if someone didn’t have a silk and frame, would a 2x3 soft box be an acceptable replacement?
