  • Bikepacking the South downs way from Bournemouth - Winchester - Eastbourne on the sonder Camino titanium while wild camping along the way. This is my experience of the south downs way on a gravel bike.

nice one - great ride and video dude, I love the SDW on bike, it can get really technical and steep but things like the views and full send down Butser make it worth it! great ride, awesome video work, well done

Checking out some vids of the SDW trek via bike. I am too riding the Downs from this weekend. I will be using an e bike but one still has to put the peddle work in.

Great video I did this about 7 years ago, some of the signage was a bit dubious, and you are right about no shops it feels remote despite actually being close to civilisation. I used an old klein mountain bike 26 inch wheels, and I was amazed how many climbs there were. Also it was damp on day and those chalky bits were as slippery as hell, I crashed on one bit but only landed in nettles which made me cycle really hard up the next hill as an antidote to the stings. I am thinking of coming south to do again as I have ordered a sonder and you provided perfect inspiration many thanks.

Great vid. As a former Hampshire boy who now lives in the North East, I recognised so much of the first part of that route, particularly the awesome downhill which I know was Butser Hill, highest point on the South Downs and one of my old stomping grounds, brings back many happy memories 👍😁😁

I can't help wondering how many extra miles you do putting a camera down, backing up, cycling past it, and backing up again to pick it up... It definitely makes the video more interesting to watch. I wouldn't have the patience!

Amazing, I have just booked this trip into my diary. Exactly the same but probably camp and not wild camp I think...as you said I think it is quite difficult to find a suitable spot on route. great video👍

Cool trip, love it, you were only five minutes away from my place at the water tap in the middle of your vid. It's a tricky route to find good wild camp spots ,always searching for new places. Cracking vid all best Will 🍻✌
