Chuck Cole it probably won't be a 8300. The hole NEX platform is going to change. Pioneer is not even tell their own people what they are doing. They are telling use hopefully June ish.
Tim datoolman no, Pioneer didn't think of that. Kenwood, however has an app that will on some of theirs. It needs an update before we can review it, but it is going to be cool.
I am currently using a Sony radio with an iPad but the Sony app requires me to "allow access" every time I turn the truck on and it gets a little annoying at time so I'm always looking for a good alternative.
Hi Guys! Apologies if this is a dumb question. If you plug in the USB cable from your phone to the head unit, will it still use the pioneers BT Mic? warm regards.
Hi guy's, my brother just got a used car with this radio. How do you get the sound to come out of the speakers. I can change all the stuff but there is no sound even when you can see the music graft moving. Thanks.....
Thanks for getting back to me. I should have said that we did hear the radio play. Than the next time in the car we could not get the sound out ! I'm sure it's a switch or mode button. Thanks...................
I have this head unit and I love it, the only thing is that I have tried to use a usb stick and it said format read and would not work, do you know what might be the problem?
I have a DEH-X6800BT that stays on after I remove my key from the ignition. It drains my battery. I have to pop the face off, but It still drains my computer as it doesn't shut off? Any ideas? Love your flixs and info.
Does this radio works with the car's factory settings? I mean, my car is a Peogeut 206 which has diver's wheel remote control. Is this stereo compatible with such remote control? Thanks.
i need to know a major overlooked feature.. i listen to audio books.. and holding the fast forward button for 10 minutes to get 3 hours in is brutal.. will the scrub feature work on a audio file that is downloading on the phone ?
Thanks fellas. Do you recommend using a line driver such as the Audiocontrol Matrix if your head unit RCAs are 2 volts? Or should I just get a radio with 4 volt preouts?
What if you want to listen to other audio apps (like Audiobooks from Audible) on the iPhone? Can it be done through BT, or do you have to do it through the USB or AUX cable?
Hey guys, I have Mercedes W140 with a 2011 Kenwood. Bluetooth and other stuff don't work quite well lately and I would like to upgrade it to this Pioneer. Does this require a new connector harness ?? I think that the kenwood I have is KDC-X888BT or something like that (car is far from here so I can not check). Just wanted your advice if this is a worthwhile upgrade or is there is something better on the kenwood or alpine model range. Always listen to your program. It is a great source of information. Keep on with the good work !!
Ronald Perez thank you. You are going to have to change the plug to the new radios. No big deal all the wire colors are the same. Just match color for color. Check out the Kenwood KDC-x501, it has the AptX premium Bluetooth chip. It sounds better
@Five Star Car Stereo Hey guys, i just love the videos you make. Most of them have been very useful to me and clarified many of my issues. BTW, i am from India, and i had a query regarding this product(Pioneer DEH-X6900bt). If i buy this from US and use it here in India, will the FM work. Will it catch frequencies here(Mainly 91.1, 92.7, 93.5, 95.0, 98.3etc) or it is designed only for the US. Thanks in advance.
Five Star Car Stereo Thanku very much sir for your reply. Well now i would need to find some other headunit available in india. Can you suggest which brand is better for single-din headunit-- Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC. Thanks
any news on release date and any details of the avic-8300nex?
Chuck Cole it probably won't be a 8300. The hole NEX platform is going to change. Pioneer is not even tell their own people what they are doing. They are telling use hopefully June ish.

Can you use this radio with an iPad?

Tim datoolman well stay tuned, as soon as the Kenwood app works right we will have a video.
Excellent, have you done many iPad dash installs at your shop? Have a great Christmas and a great new year. Keep posting your awesome vids.
Tim datoolman thanks, no I'm not a big fan of the iPad dash stuff.
As always, great content!
Hi Guys! Apologies if this is a dumb question. If you plug in the USB cable from your phone to the head unit, will it still use the pioneers BT Mic? warm regards.
Stephan Roodt yes it will 👍
Weird ‘cause my head unit doesn’t have that “TIME ALGNMNT” setting...
Hi guy's, my brother just got a used car with this radio. How do you get the sound to come out of the speakers. I can change all the stuff but there is no sound even when you can see the music graft moving. Thanks.....
Donna Sroczynski I would check to make sure it is connected to the speakers behind the radio. There is no trick, sound just comes out
Thanks for getting back to me.
Matthew Salcido I would check the smartphone settings. It controls the USB port
Ok I'll do that, thanks.
Would I be able to make the HPF set to just the front speakers or can it only be set to all of the speakers

is there a video on hooking up a amp and single Sub to this radio?
RicK Wells sadly no, we are going to have to make one. Thanks for the idea. Are you having any issues?
Five Star Car Stereo Please do. I'm planning the same thing and would sure like the help.
I have two questions. Will this work for my 2001 Mazda Tribute? What dash kit will I need?
TRman14 yes it will fit. The Bestkits BKMAZK854 dash kit. 2001 is the crossover year so they list 2 possible harness BHA7902 or the BhA7901
Five Star Car Stereo thanks so much
what's the difference to this and the 6800bt?
iLiketoastybread the big difference are 3 RCA outputs, ARC control App, Spotify control.
i need to know a major overlooked feature.. i listen to audio
books.. and holding the fast forward button for 10 minutes to get 3

specialformula14 wow that is definitely brutal, unfortunately I have no idea if it will do that. Sorry
Can you respond to texts using the speech to text feature work with android phones also?
jjacstcy yes it will
Thanks!

Brian Miles for the money get a better radio with 4 volt. For a single din look at the 8800
What if you want to listen to other audio apps (like Audiobooks from Audible) on the iPhone? Can it be done through BT, or do you have to do it through the USB or AUX cable?
Juan Manuel Cardona Granda when paired over Bluetooth you can listen to anything on your phone you want.
Excellent news. Thanks!
