We’re back! Hadda take a break due to working longer hours at my irl job! I have a few more ideas already cooked up that are ready to be made! Hope you all enjoyed!
In my opinion the strangest equipment in nhl history was Montreal Canadians goalie Bill Durnan’s “gloves”. He had custom gloves that allowed him to switch which hand he held the stick during game, doing this helped him be one of the best goalies during the 1940’s
Oh wow! That’s sick!
David Perron wears the tinted visor because of sensitivity to the bright lights from concussions. I think it's more of a safety thing than a style thing these days.
Dude your content is so good and worth waiting for. You remind me of an NFL TH-cam content creator named KTO. You tell great stories about league history
I love KTO so this means the world to me 🙏 Thank you so much for the support and for the kind words
in 2000's I had Nike hockey rollers, they had an alien design but were very comfortable and nice to skate with
We're those the Ignites? A buddy had a pair and loved the comfort, but damn they looked weird.
I wear a mirrored visor, it's a godsend. I have epilepsy and some light sensitivity so the visor helps with that on the ice.
Yeah that's an added advantage to the tinted visor is that some people may actually need it for medical reasoning. I'm happy they allow you to see comfortably!
I remember reading Butch Goring wore the same pair of dress pants every time when traveling then when the season ended he cut them down for shorts in the summer.
You could probably do another video like this. Cooperalls, aluminum sticks, offset blades, curved shaft goalie sticks, and the glow puck come to mind. Not sure if the offset blade or goalie stick actually made the NHL though.
If I remember right, he did a whole video about Cooperalls, or at least talked about them in a previous vid.
@@LateNightTableCo Yup! I made a whole video dedicated to the Cooperalls when Philly brought em back! A video on the glow puck maybe cool tho 👀
I get the tinted visor thing. I have extreme light sensitivity now due to Covid and I can’t go to see my local team play without wearing tinted lenses. The glare of the ice is too much for me and I end up leaving half way due to migraine. I usually wear yellow or pink tints. However, the polarised visor that Ovi was wearing was a bit much and I can’t see any other reason for him wearing it that isn’t a cosmetic one.
Also…I REALLY hope Crosby washes that jock strap!
When it came to visors, the first time I ever saw one of a different colour or tint was when Eric Weinrich was with the Flyers where he had a yellow one. Ovi definitely popularized the dark tint.
Oh wow! I needa see the yellow tinted one that's sick!
When I started playing hockey as a kid in the late 80s they had yellow full face shields I don't think they ever really caught on but I remember seeing them and wondering why someone would wear one
It's important to note, that when Gretzky went to the Rangers, he too had a Nike skate that was just like Fedorov's, but with NYR colorway.
I wore Nike skates for awhile because Fedorov was wearing them. Eventually I switched to Mission and never looked back.
You always have such great video ideas, and you never miss
Thank you so much!! Thanks for watching and for the support 🙏
The air zoom skates and bolero gloves, still the sickest looking equipment!!
Goalie equipment has a really great history as it evolved, not to mention the cheats like Haseks oversized shirts that protected the 5 hole, Garth Snows optimus prime shoulder extensions in the 97 cup finals or the guy (i forget exactly who) wore elastic strips between his legs! It's not cheating until someone makes a rule about it! 😉
another great one buddy!
Thank you so much!!
Yo skating with the Niki drip
Leo Komarov was using old Graf skates which were much more heavier than modern skates these days.
I just switched from 15 year old Grafs to bauer 2 years ago. What a huge difference in weight.
They were emberassed but had -8 in playoff, not even close to Vancouver worst-15 in a playoff round.
I had the Nike skates growing up. Still my favorite skates. I still have a pair of Nike roller blades.
i had the gloves. and maybe a terrible aluminium stick
The Nike skates were built on a Bauer chassis, with Nike technology. They were extremely comfortable
i used to play hockey against a kid who wore 91 and had all sergei fedorov Nike equipment ...for some reason this post reminded me of him
Oh wow 😭😭 He definitely had a favorite player!
@idontgivetkachuk yep ...I grew up in the windsor area so it's not overly surprising
Mike Foligno's bicycle helmut
IDGT comeback my beloved
Great vid as always baby ❤
Thank you beautiful ❤I love you!!
@@idontgivetkachuk I love you too 🥰
See if you can tie in an idea around Matt Dumba wearing 55 to make it look like Dumba$$ on his jersey. Like creative names or numbers or something
Welcome back Paul
Thank you so much! Hope you enjoyed!
I begged for those federov nike skates when i was a kid
Man, I wanted NIKE gear as a kid so bad. EDIT: The old John Vanbiesbrouck helmet was amazing,
As i saw the thumbnail i had a banana it had a nike swoosh
who remembers the skate blades Patrik Elias used to wear ?
HE IS BACK🎉❤
🥳🥳🥳 Thank you sm for watching and for the support!!
I always thought Tim Thomas had an unusual looking goalie mask.
The Mage RS I believe! The name was a combo of mask and cage. Think a variation is still made
Nike skates were considered sty back in the 2000’s
WE Had someone like Ludwig?! I thought UND had less drafted players than true, the more you know
Collab when?
Welcome back.
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Why you had to add that first part wtf 😂
Goat Posted LFG 🐐
The Goat commented! Thank u for the support my guy 🙏
Why did you have to start with such a gut punch for caps fans
I'm sorry I promise I'll get off the Caps LOL. Just needed a way to transition into Ovi that related to what's currently going on in the NHL world.
See if the wings made it this year and they would of won it
Rangers goaltender Dan Blackburn wore two blockers due to a hand injury
I stated that numerous times lol
Hell, I still wear my Nike Skates!!!!!!
THATS so sick!!
I still have my Nike skates
I don’t give a Datsyuk 🐙
Is he really the greatest goal scorer if it takes an entire team tanking just to feed an aging and flat footed Ovi empty netters and tap ins all in an effort to get him the record?
Remeber cooperalls😂
If they can bring those back, they can bring back the nike skates
