Since you like open tunings, I have accidentally found one that would probably be good for metal and be quite resolved when need be. CGEACE is the tuning I found, try and explore a bit and make a song with it!
Elk and panda by ttng are also really cool songs in this tuning. I'd guess Yvette picked up the tuning from them as she's mentioned ttng as an inspiration before.

I use FACGCE a lot but this has a real folk sound to it. I may make a backing track with an acoustic tuned to this to experiment with
