Love how you do flashy licks sometimes but they always feel natural. Lot of guitarists youtubers go crazy and its really fun, but you have restraint , and everything feels deliberate and serves a purpose. It's never just "watch me do fast guitar stuff."
Hope I get to work with you one day, because youre not just talented , you have a vision and the skill to bring it to life. 🖤
I've honestly listened to this at least 20 times in 2 days.
Listening to a longer, more fleshed out version would be amazing.
I'm can only hope you've got the inspiration to do it, Ms. Young.
If you don't want to is completely understandable, doing it because you "have to" would probably ruin it.
No matter, thank you for already making this short, beautiful composition.
A longer version is definitely needed
th-cam.com/video/MFuJpPwy6Zg/w-d-xo.html
Or at least point us to some songs like this. Never knew I needed this genre in my life until now
how much more fleshed out can it get???
@@SoSarchastic maybe listen to tiny moving parts
So. Damn. Good. The joy you have while playing. You remind me of Eric Johnson with how it feels you know, but still discover the music while you’re playing.
Yvette is nothing short of mesmerizing on stage. I couldn't take my eyes off of her.
That intro riff is straight up from Bon Iver’s 2nd album!
That’s it, I knew I had heard it before.
I picked it out instantly too!
Yep, definitely heard Perth vibes.
I didn’t know this sound was because of the tuning ,EBD#F#BE! Definitely gonna try :)
God I fucking love bon iver
Your playing is amazing! : ) Especially the energy, easyness and tonality with which you play!
not really
@@timmyshore3755 I'm sorry for you.
From 0:23-0:30, your expressions and interaction with the music and guitar are so contagious! Also, this is amazing
2 years after you've released this riff and I still find myself coming back to it time and time again, wishing for you to finally turn this riff into the one song I will listen to my whole life.
The opening riff is so reminiscent of the travellers theme from Outer Wilds, the rest just makes it an absolutely gorgeous piece and I sincerely hope it gets more attention!
Honestly wondering if that was intentional. This entire thing feels very Outer-Wilds esque. I'm so happy someone else here commented that lol
@@9volt65
So, after falling into a midwest emo rabbit hole I can confidently say that the Traveller's theme is derived from midwest country/folk songs, same as midwest emo (to a certain degree at least) 😊
OUTER WILDS SOUNDTRACK FTW
dude i caught that too!
Holy moly, didn't expect to find a outer wilds comment here (outer wilds best game)
Yvette Young on guitar is by far my favourite sound. Your "sound" has a heavenly groove to it and I love you :')
shut up
@@bigtrodasmallloda2208 😂😂😂
This song felt like a great summertime coming to an end.
It's crazy I heard that Eb major arpeggio and thought it was some super harmonically complex segment and then I figured it out on my piano it was just an arpeggio. This video is seriously a masterclass on how you don't need insane knowledge to make beautiful music, just lots of experience + good vibes
I love watching her having fun playing music as much as I love what she's playing.
Love how much the start of this sounds like Perth by Bon Iver, and how the rest sounds so classic Yvette. Great stuff.
I literally just listened to that like 10 times in a row. So catchy!
no you didn’t
Well, look who it is-Yvette Young-popping up in my recommended for the first time since I was in high school.
Great to be reminded of your work, and even better to see you’re still hard at it!
so chill, so talented, and to top all that - a lovely smile throughout. Can clearly see you enjoy doing this a lot which makes it far more enjoyable for us watching :)
Have a lovely life and those in the comments too
What amazing feel you have! A lot of people here are praising you for your talent - and deservedly so, but I'm gonna praise your for all those practice hours. You have so much control it's staggering! I could listen to you play all day
The face Yvette makes at 0:24 gives me so much serotonin haha. Watching her play guitar is like watching her perform with another person; like she's performing some kind of duet on stage with a voiceless co-star.
Can't believe I've been listening to your music and Covet's on Spotify for years without connecting that it's you making this awesome sound in the band. Love it, can't wait to hear more.
There is something VERY John Butler about the intro and verse.
Agreed, sound like OCEANS
@@astitched Took the words right out of my mouth.
i can totally see it for sure, but i'm just surprised how someone would make that sort of immediate connection _before_ comparing it to American Football
came here to say this
I think the JbT would agree. I was feel some Steve Kimock with the chord prog and lidian riffs
I love how happy she looks when she's playing the music she loves
Coming back o this for so long now, this 52 second song has more feeling and more soul and something more human that hours and hours of most of todays choices, its not a knock on them but wow this is masterful.
Nice playing. 😊
Good grief PLEASE make this into a full song! Your spectacular!
So this is intriguing, I'm clearly black but also a thorough midwesterner (not chicago, ruralish) who is now 31, meaning I was in high school back when fallout boy was the biggest thing on the planet. What interests me the most is perhaps a realization that this also seems to align with the vibes I got from watching FLCL in that same time period. Very cool/nostalgic.
Ohmy flcl honestly has the best anime soundtrack .. the pillows were just meant to put the music for flcl !
Her facial expression at 0:23 onward is so invested! She's like "I wonder where this will go? Let's follow the melody!". She's genuinely happy :)
amazing! reminded me of tiny moving parts
yeah, TMP without the r*pe allegations 🙃
@@ceeb420 wait what i love them can you explain
@@ceeb420 nvm i just read up on it, it wasn’t rape but still it’s a bit of a shame
@@ceeb420 what
This is one of the greatest riffs I've ever heard, actually lol.
Absolutely love this. The technicality of the music and the execution, and above all, I love that guitar!
That was just precious, Yvette! It's like you turn the tap and out comes a free stream of beautiful sounds, and gorgeous music... Great... Superb! With love to you from the Oregon Coast where summer is ending and the cool of winter is starting, AL
Hey, I know making music is really difficult but this is just so beautiful that me, and I'm sure many people as well, would love to hear a longer version of this.
Cheers regardless!
I come back to listen to this from time to time, so good ❤
That little guitar “goes brrrr” section before you’re off and running is exactly how stimulants feel like.
Sure maybe the first time you try them, but the more you use, the more stimulants will sound like death, depression, dysphoria and rotting teeth. Good luck to you.
I come back to this all the time! Mesmeric!!!
0:11 reminded me a lot of Perth - Bon Iver
Love that song
The whole thing reminds me of Fade by Wavey. Look that one up. It's worth it.
I knew I wasn’t the only one
Accurate.
Beautiful riff.
Love seeing the emotion in your face while playing.
she on crack bruh
OK, so. I play stoner metal. Everything I look for in my guitar tone is the most saturated distortion, the mightiest sustain and the noisiest feedback.
I couldn't be farther from this music genre.
Still, everything Yvette composes hits me harder than any stoner/doom song I ever listened. She's inestimable.
Honestly stoner metal is so sick 👌🏻 been really obsessed with fuzz lately
Both y’all should move to Nola and start a stoner band w/me
@@yvetteyoungmusic omg thank you so much for responding to my comment! ❤️
@@off6848 wait, you mean Nola Louisiana or Nola in the Italian region of Campania? lol
@@alessandroroda7277 Louisiana the home of sludge
Came up in my feed again. Just fills my soul to the brim with joy. Keep playing!
Gahhhhh, she's such a legend. I still get goosebumps when I listen to glimmer and falkor
This needs to make it into a new Covet song! Love this sound so much
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! My dream is literally to be even half as good as you on the guitar!
My dream is to get a girlfriend like her 😭
I feel this I love her style, the way she plays is amazing
You can bro, there's no late in learning guitar, just try, I do first think that its impossible for me play her song at all, but I try, I succeed with parachute first and just recently get comfy playing falkor.
the only problem for me is the tuning, learning different song from Yvette require different open tuning, I only have one guitar and its one with tremolo bridge == changing unto different tuning will cause my string to break so easily.
Yeah thats my story, in order to have progress you need to try, come on just try
All you gotta do is pray to god with a "tinkle tinkle hoy!"
...whatever happened to dreaming big?
