I don't often comment on TH-cam videos but I thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Fantastic work.

Marvelous painting as expected -- but even more marvelous is knowing that these items sit on your drawing table and are part of what makes you who you are! Significant artifacts.

I love it! The lesson in tonality is superb. I learned a lot by watching this video. In my studio I am surrounded by childhood toys, pictures, and other memorabilia that just makes me happy. It's hard to not be inspired when you're surrounded with happy memories. I would love to see what you could do with some of your wife's cherished things. A girly collection would be fun to see what you could do with it, plus you would get brownie points for creating something she would cherish. Great work!

The love my husband and I share with 80s and 90s films inspires many of the art pieces inside our own home! Back To The Future is an all time favorite, and this still life was so incredibly inspiring!! Thanks so much

Andrew - I've watched and experienced your kindness and generosity in projecting and teaching the world about you and your art for some years now. It's fabulous to take onboard your ideas, techniques, and the simple fact you actually produce the goods in a friendly, inspiring and to-the-point presentations without flim-flam. So from Yorkshire in the UK my warmest thanks for your remote support teaching qualities and brilliant, just brilliant oil paintings. I salute you.

Andrew great minds think alike. Ppl might think the composition & subject but i have the same idea thing is u know with commissions and other paintings either drying or got the artist curse with it. I've noticed Putting it to the side instead of pushing through or bored or just life. When I've pushed through i didn't think about thing or go through the checklist and careless from the enthusiastic start. When i put it to the side, after i finished i see them again and with enthusiasm again..
Thanks for the content. Oh yeah my setup of toy's is 80's objects. Hopefully i could share it with u when finished, have a positive paint journey my phriend.....

Andrew , blown away as usual, the painting describes my history with 1 element to still lurking/hiding in the background. Dr Who's Tardis. Must try for myself after finishing a double portrait.

Excellent video as a fact of its creation. A wonderful story of each toy that brings together a lot of pleasant memories of the past 80s. And I remember those times too. This painting is valuable not only as a teaching material but also for its unique story. I admire your talent, enthusiasm, energy, passion in painting, inspiration and desire to share your incredible knowledge with us. Thank you so much, Andrew, you are the best!

@@AndrewTischlerArt All of them, really, save Thunderbirds, I did see that in a re-release however in the theatre... When I was very small, about 8ish? But Back to the Future, (1,2 & 3), GhostBusters, Aliens, Top Gun, Star Wars (1, 2 & 3) Jurassic Park... all great movies for the time...

Hi Andrew, as one nerd to another ( I’m old enough to have watched Thunderbirds in the 60’s and Star Wars 7 times in the theatre back in ‘77!) this is a really nice painting to see you produce……particularly as you handled such hard objects in such a painterly way. I’ve still been using Titanium White for some of my colour mixing as lead white has been banned in the U.K. and EU for some time now. There is however, a Warm White produced by Michael Harding, that is supposedly a lead white alternative and wondered if you had any thoughts on this? Thanks for another great post!

My favorite still life you did was the memento mori/vanitas one some years ago, The previous toy one was OK, but I have to say I don't feel any connection to back to the future, star wars or Jurassic park. The painting is still good, just not as interesting to me. The previous toy one was interesting because everyone has a connection to discarded plaything from childhood (although, in your case, they aren't discarded), It is indeed a way of working from life, which is great.

“They’re not toys they’re collectibles!” 😂 I’d say in today’s age most people think it’s cool to have older toys and collectibles or statues. I sure do.
