Good evening Tod. The stump bucket has it's advantages and disadvantages in comparison to a backhoe. I think as you guys become more experienced with it the easier it will be to operate efficiently, there is always a learning curve. It's definitely a great tool that will do a lot of work for you in a quick manner. With the tractor being a solid frame and when one corner experiences force the other 3 corners will follow in a tipping motion. Your son handled it well when it the tractor started to tip. If there was independent suspension on the tractor it would be a lot less tippy.
Using a backhoe has it's challenges to keep from tipping as well. Have a great weekend and keep safe!

Just need a little more seat time and gain experience with different implements. Great implement by the way, I would maybe use a small Dewalt etc, sawsall to cut roots from the main stump, Just wondering did you have Rimguard fluid added to the rear tires for added weight?
Agree on all! More experience, cutting some of the viney roots, etc. Yes, we have fluid filled tires. Thanks for watching and commenting!

great for a few stumps but it's no way to clear an acre. It's to hard on gear.
