- We loved Finding Nemo and knew without a doubt we'd have to jump right in to Finding Dory as soon as possible, we just didn't realize it be one of those sequels that is potentially even better than the first!

The reveal of all the shells, lined in every direction, still makes me cry
Finding Nemo is a CLASSIC but Finding Dory is a respectable sequel. Well made, well written, well animated. It’s actually the one I find myself rewatching most out of the two.
I can't help it but I find this movie better than the first one. But Baby Dory just melts your heart, and this explains how Dory of all fish could read and wild ocean fish cannot this is an incredible movie.
In case you missed it, there's a post credit scene were we get to see Gil (again voiced by Willem Dafoe) & his gang again 🙂
Bailey and his ‘ooooooo’ always makes me laugh. Really funny characters in this movie.
I like how this movie gives so much insight into who Dory is, where she came from, & really fleshes out her character to explain why she can do the things she can do in the first movie like knowing how to read English & speak to whales & even though she couldn't remember her parents she still remembered what they taught her to survive on her own
Yes! And they take something so silly in the first film like Keep Swimming and make it mean so much more, it honestly changes the first film because of it.
finding Nemo was one of favourite movies growing up, kid me used to watch it over and over again. When finding dory first came out, at first I wasn't sure if it was going to be any good since sequels can be kind of 50/50. This movie ended up making me cry TWICE on my first watch, and my eyes get teary whenever I rewatch it now.
I have some pretty bad issues with memory and attention deficiency which has made me struggle in school and in my social life. I was fifteen when finding dory came out, and I cried because for the first time I saw a character with very similar issues, who often gets told they're too stupid or incompetent to be able to do anything right, get to achieve something. The very last line when Dory admits to herself with disbelief "I did it." has been resonating with me ever since.
I don't care that most people think of this one as one of the worst Pixar films or as an "unnecessary sequel", this film comforted me when I was anxious teenager and started a snowball effect that now gave me the courage to go to university. And because of that it's also one of my favourites.

@@captainteeko4579 Could be, I didn't mean to make it seem like it isn't possible for it to be the case by any means but it just weirds me out, especially since they use the EAC to get there which makes even less sense, maybe my adult brain makes me think too hard about these things
Finding Dory is nowhere near the first one, but it's still pretty great. Since Dory is the main character, they use the comic relief character properly well, as they give her more of a personality. We felt sad knowing that she lost her parents and felt happy that she found them again. I loved how they explored her origins.

It's funny how many Pixar shorts are sort of warm-ups for later films. "Lou" that came before Cars 3 definitely seemed like preparation for Hank the septapod....

It's not as good as Finding Nemo, but still a very good movie.
I like Finding Dory better.. the emotional moment with her parents had MUCH greater impact than whole dinding Nemo.. and then Marvin´s "Suck it bipeds" just leveled it up tenfold.. Dory´s voice actress should´ve got an Oscar for her job!!

Hank is voiced by Ed O’Neil (from Modern Family and Married with Children). Destiny is voiced by Kaitlin Olson (from it’s always sunny in Philadelphia). Bailey is voiced by Ty Burrell (also from Modern Family. And the truck driver that got hijacked by Hank is the original voice of Nemo.
I identify with the AL Bundy Octopus on so many levels.
I don't have the time atm to watch, but I actually love this movie a lot, and I'm excited to see you guys react to it later!

There are absolutely walls in the ocean, along with many other structures. Both within the ocean and along the edge. They aren't usually made of glass, but that doesn't seem to matter to Destiny, as she has swam into concrete walls before. Destiny could end up beached because she can't see where the water becomes more shallow, which does not require a wall and wouldn't happen at a fish hospital.
Check out the story of the actual octopus, Inky, who escaped a New Zealand aquarium. Cool stuff ;)
It’s the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They have a live You Tube channel where you can watch the fish 🐠 and a scuba diver feeds the fish and answers kids questions in the chat. If ya ever get a chance hit that and Point Lobos.

...i may be remembering this wrong, but I think if you watch the all the credits at the end of this one you'll see a return of Nemo's tank-mates from finding Nemo, all still floating in their bags in the ocean.

I have to admit that I loved the first Incredibles movie, but I was let down by the sequel. On the other hand, Finding Nemo was perfect, and then along came Finding Dory, which made it fun and engaging just like its predecessor. It elevated both “Finding” films to an even greater status.
