Okay this one didn't really need to be re-recorded as the previous one was good quality already, but I received a lot of complaints about letting my teammates die and not playing tactical enough.. so here's a new version, in respect to this awesome franchise, covering Gold Medal difficulty and without any ally deaths. This is probably still considered pretty casual performance, but it's still easier to watch than the previous upload. Having previously dealt with Star Fox 64 for the N64, I was surprised by the difficulty on this game as it was far less frustrating. The graphics are really nice, there's great stage variety and the controls are smooth. Being able to play through this again was actually really fun. I've been working super hard on the Nintendo 64 library and being able to shift over to a title like this for a short period and noticing the immense improvement between the Star Fox titles between N64 and GameCube makes you appreciate this system even more.
I think bcs the other longplays or playthroughs everyone lets a wingman damaged and forced to pull out, because the results had a *special medal* if your teammates didnt leave if their aircraft are damaged Idk if this correct
Imagine if we get a Star Fox game more to a Mass Effect-ish epicness. Without the fuck and ultra violence of course. Only more third person shooting, squad based co-op AI or human, training multiplayer, and of course serious orchestra.
I'm sitting here watching this just thinking of the good old days. Brother and I would play the multiplayer mode, pretending we were on missions, doing guard duty, or whatever else our young minds can cook up. I always remember riding on the Arwing's wings like an extra gunner. This game would really shine once my cousin's came over to play when my auntie was babysitting us. Just night shift things I guess.
Fun fact: Leon and Panther in this game are both voiced by David Scully, Halo’s very own Sergeant Johnson! Falco’s VA in this one, Mark Madeoy, is also one of the CE marines, credited as “Bisenti”.
Luckily I was a kid in the 90s and played the original. It was so amazing it stayed with me still. All others are fun and all, but they never impacted me in the same way
@@gunsharck I still got a wii. It can play gamecube so that's another option. Got this and I realy like the option of ground missions and swapping between vehickles.
this game was so criminally short. the gameplay was kinda average but it was fun enough playing as star fox in multiple vehicles and on foot. I think this franchise, were it to comeback, would benefit from following this model, aiming to be a sort of 3rd person faster halo alternative with an emphasis on vehicles.
THE NOSTALGIA. I really need to install an emulator so that I can play Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Assault again. They were two of my favorite games growing up. I think Star Fox Assault was the first game that made me tear up because I thought Peppy (if I remember correctly) died near the end lmao. Fun times
this is a pretty fun game. If Nintendo were to ever make another starfox game, it should be something like this, instead of redoing starfox 64 for the hundredth time. Starfox 64 is an amazing game, but I feel like it's time to somehow move the series forward
Its funny how they curse each other all the time using their races hahaha But I hope one day for Nintendo to understand that Star Fox deserves to become like Rogue Squadron and give more freedom and less rail movement. Also to take it seriously and less cartoonish, as I remember the very first game to be. It was a real threat and the villain was scary.
I remember this game getting pretty average reviews at the time and it put me off getting it right away. I actually loved it. Although i tend to change the controls for the on foot sections as the default ones aren't as good and i think that's where much of the negative reviews came from as the people doing so didn't tend to change anything in the options.
It’s real good. This and Adventures together go toe to toe with 64 and Star Fox snes although it’s a smidge better still it puts up a hell of a fight against two legendary games.
This game costs like $100 or $200 on eBay. I got it for $89 at a retro convention which is a good deal!!!! This is my number 25th game on my top 30 Nintendo GameCube list. P.s. I’ve mentioned it in my haul video months ago ☺️☺️☺️
This game was everything I wanted in a Starfox game, except for still not getting to explore the inside of the Great Fox on foot and interact with NPCs.
It’s a Good Thing that StarFox Assault came out before Revenge of the Sith Madagascar Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Corpse Bride Wallace and Gromit the Curse of the Were Rabbit Mario Superstar Baseball Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix Metroid Prime Pinball Chicken Little and Mario Party 7.
Howd they manage to make the graphics look so terrible? Both starfox adventures and Rogue squadron 2 cane out much earlier in the GameCube's lifespan and look so much better. Its like they made this one for the Dreamcast or something!
I don’t understand why they slam these star fox games i played star fox zero it was fun my theory is because they dont want nintendo to take over the space motif ala star wars 😂🤣
You know, this game makes me realize how the Aparoids are way more dangerous than Andross. They killed off many of Saria's dinosaurs by infecting them, and even cornerian citizens and the cornerian army! Something that was never confirmed in Star Fox 64 or Adventures at all!

So you let Slippy die.. I am failing to see the problem.

The Modern Star Fox 64 and one of the best Star Fox games. I still own this game.
It's not modern anymore if it came out nearly 2 decades ago
No, no, and I do too
StarFox 64 is cheesy as all Hell. The original and this are the best two.
@@DontrelleRooseveltnah 64 is still the best cry more
@@DontrelleRoosevelt Miyamoto confirmed that Thunderbirds was a big inspiration for Starfox.
I swear this game looks SO GOOD graphically for the time.
Are you kidding??? For a GameCube game this barely scrapes past the ps2! Get to spec savers
@@gunsharck this was out during the PS2. That's a tired statement at this point
yeah, those space missions are no Rogue Squadron 2, but DAMN are they easy on the eyes.
It looks like a Dreamcast game! Go look at starfox adventures or the rogue squadron games and then look back at this pile of trash.
I wish I was a kid back in the mid 2000s so I could play this impressive game!
Luckily I was a kid in the 90s and played the original. It was so amazing it stayed with me still. All others are fun and all, but they never impacted me in the same way

The soundtrack is amazing
And hard to find,it’s not even on the Nintendo music app 😢
This game brings back very good memories from my childhood, I used to play it with my brother while we ate pizza
There's one of the things I love about this game, that is how often the characters say "Dang!"
They outdid themselves with the soundtrack in this game.
Now this is a classic! I use to play this game all of the time!!
The star wolf redemption arc in this game was so sick. Makes them being evil again in command make no sense
They aren’t evil they are just mercs with no honor
The reason is that they wanted to be the ones who destroy fox, why else do you think you unlock wolf after beating the game?
This game was so frigging fun
I don't understand exactly what they were smoking when they decided to make the on foot segments, but I liked a lot about this game.

What I always liked was that the Arwings actually look like they did in Star Fox SNES.

I got so excited when the game switched to on foot sections. So much potential with this.
@@panampace I know. Imagine if it was something like a Ratchet and Clank game. That would be awesome.
@@princessCashel Good news Ratchet and Clank is on PC.
Miyamoto is too busy now days to make another Starfox.
And they definitely can't pull the same thing they did with Zero. Forcing gyroscope controls
@@Vendetta162X Actually you can swap the cockpit view to the Tv screen using the minus button.
So the two screen gimmick is optional.
The GameCube was truly ahead of its time
The multiplayer in this was a blast. Shame unlocking everything takes ages
This game with modern dual stick third person shooter controls would be the best game ever for me.
It’s still great as is.
The guy playing opted not to use it, but dual stick is one of the control scheme options. You can see the player not choose it at 1:38
Im 28 years old now. But when i watch this whole Video im gonna be a child again. I loved this game so much. Such a masterpiece
I used the speed run this game when I was younger
I really miss this game and GameCube, what good times 💯🔥
I worshipped Star Fox 64 growing up, I only remember Star Fox adventures, I had no idea Assault was a thing!
The ONLY home console Star Fox game I never played...
I wish nintendo wouldve ported this game for switch
Still holds up to this day
Star Fox Assault has the best story in the series in my opinion
This game brings back so many memories. ❤
Star Fox: Assault is an excellent missions.
Another day of star fox
OH MAN, A Video Game like this one would've been something.
This game would go crazy in an online pvp mode.
Star Fox: Assault it's the only two games of Star Fox to be rated by teen and the only game of Star Fox to worked under by Namco!
Lol yeah E10+ wasn't a thing yet
Also Adventures was originally supposed to be a game about one of the characters from Diddy Kong Racing
One of the best
This is my favorite Star Fox Game
Watching Godzilla versus Megaguirus and the music of the movie made me think of Starfox Assault. Star Fox Assault was awesome!!
I’ve never heard of this game till today. I wanna play it now.
SF64 with a bit of Zero can make an incredible movie. And I think they can make a 2 hour version without speeding things up too much.
Its funny how they curse each other all the time using their races hahaha

Slippy: The Arwings can't fly in that kind of blizzard!
My guy...didn't you fly on the surface of a sun?
It would be nice if they made a movie about the history of starfox
Miyamoto said that Starwars and Startrek was a big inspiration.
Still stunning. Like Rogue Squadron II - almost the two single reasons to buy a Gamecube!

I miss my childhood😢
Nintendo should release this game on the Switch alongside with Star Fox Adventures like they did with Pikmin 1+2
I love this game…. I hate how short it was
Certified hood classic

Why was the hallway to their ships so long? Geeez seems impractical
Oh my god my memories

Anyone know how I can get this game and star fox zero on emulators/roms?
Long play of Star fox assault 9/9/2023 2:50:00 2:59:00..⚾️😁😎😝
This looks better than Star Fox Zero
Why do o always hear how terrible this game waslooks amazing. Im playing starfox 3ds atm. Im playing this next.
Reminds me of jet force gemini, but obviously the next generation of systems
As great as this looks nothing quite beats the cinematics of SF64
I hated the character redesigns but the gameplay was peak.
